I love it “Really really uncomfortable “ yes but it’s so freeing ❤
There is certainly growth in doing the uncomfortable and hard things. Thank you for commenting!
Can I ask you do you do nothing else but digital and transfers I’m just curious
Hi Lynne, I think the real question you want to ask is can you draw? The answer is yes but does it really matter? NO. ANYONE can learn to draw extremely well if they put the time and effort into it. Having said that you don't need incredible drawing skills to be an amazing artist. In my opinion being able to draw well is just another skill to learn and grow at. I know a huge number of successful artisan that dont have great drafting skills. I work in many different mediums. Charcoal and graphite are definitely not my favorite mediums as I am more of a painter. So, drawing for me is not where I spent most of my time or effort. I have no desire to crank out hyper realistic pieces..I am too slow and I just dont enjoy it as much as many other mediums I have the opportunity to work with. Most mediums are like languages, the more you work with them the more proficient you become AND when you stop working with them, that skill level you achieved will be dialed back from non-usage. I am an artist, a creator, I have to create. Not so I can sell anything, or even create anything specific but rather just to create, to play, adventure, learn, and to fail. It really is that simple. I work with the areas that I enjoy at that particular season in my life and leave the rest until a different season when I am called in that direction. Simple really. I am not trying to become the best artist on the planet, the nation or even my town. The focus is on becoming the best creator I can personally be on any given day. That looks different for everyone and looks different for me everyday. Thank you for takin time to share your thoughts. Have a blast creating!
@@ArtGeekTeachingGracias por el video , compré pan/ pastel de 8 colores ( presupuesto al límite) pero haré cosas hermosas para vender ! Jajajaja el optimismo siempre en alto ✅
I like you but why would you sign it when youREALLY CHEATED. YUP THATS WHAT I THINK.. TRYNIT FREE HAND.. GO FOR IT,
Heeeey Lynne! Thank you for sharing your perspective! The tool boxes of many professional artists encompasses a wide range of techniques and mediums, each with its own merits. I love freehand drawing and while one doesn't have to have great drawing skills to be an accomplished artist, I personally believe that it helps me to communicate more accurately. The method I demonstrated here is a recognized and respected mixed media technique used by many professional artists. It is one method of using a tissue paper print. One could use an original drawn on tissue paper or teabag paper just as easily. Growing artists appreciate the variety of artistic approaches and understand that skill and creativity can be expressed in many forms, not just freehand. Keep exploring and learning!"
What kind of adhesive did you use to attach the paper? Thanks.
Hi Tess, I just used matt medium on this one. Thank you for commenting
Very helpful. Thanks!
Glad it was of some use. Thank you for taking time to comment.
The best ever!!! I loved it!
True that, the people and the program are top notch.
Im pretty sure they are the people making all the girls/flowers/horses plus paint splatter art at hobby lobby.
Not sure I follow.
@@ArtGeekTeaching Their videos of their students show the same thing found in hobby lobby. Just paint a girl and a flower and drip paint.
@@williamroberts1819 Oh I see what you are saying. I would have to respectfully disagree. While some of the work in Hobby Lobby may be similar in style there is a pretty big difference in quality. Hobby Lobby artists follow trends, the Milan family has been painting for decades and it would be safe to say the techniques and style they developed were long before any current trends of drip and grunge came around. Also it is much deeper than that, the program is comprehensive in covering business, marketing as well as a host of different mediums. It gives students a well rounded background as they develop their own voice. Thank-you for commenting.
What is the recipe for your encaustic medium pls?
I am currently using encaustic medium that is pre-made.
Hi, Thanks for making this video and showing your art. I think your problem is that you think there is a problem. As soon as you notice this, the circle is gone. Hope you make it! Keep on painting.. Martin from Germany
Hi smARTin2! Thank-you for taking time to comment.
I had better results by NOT twisting the Press just steady pressure no twisting!
Hi Marci-yup, it looks like good solid pressure seems to work better. It is almost as if twisting breaks the bottom or something. Thank-you for commenting.
Glad thatvyou are hsving fun duringbthe creative process.
Having fun is paramount to the experience I think.
That art is cool (Pls pin me i sub)
Thank you!
I agree with you. It’s priceless. I’m brand new to art and my progress is frankly unbelievable. So much more to learn. The community is phenomenal and there are so many additional resources that are included!
Too true Susi, too true
I love your art it’s beautiful Stunning!❤️
Hi Vanessa! Thank you so much for your kind comment.
Great job
Thank you!
I admire such perseverance and character in building this art project.
Thank-you! I really appreciate you taking time to comment.
Fantastic!
Thank-you for taking the time to comment!
This looks amazing!
Thank you!
you must have been tired before you left 😅
Hi Wilmariken! Thank you for your comment. I am lost though, did I miss something? I dont know what you mean.
Are you still an affiliate? I'm considering milan, I enjoy your comments.
Hi Diane-They did away with the affiliate program quite awhile ago. It is an amazing program. I really believe that anyone who puts in the work with their teaching will certainly be able to make a living as an artist.
Thanks a lot for this! I really needed that last tip, wow! 🎨
Hey open sky! Thank-you for taking time to comment. Murphys is a miracle soap. I use it for my hands as well.
You may want to try this technique: put it where you want it to get transfer, hold one hand on top to keep it in place and with the other hand, drag the paper from underneath the plastic. The paper will slide out, while the plastic will stay in place.
Coolio! Thank-you for the tip!
Love your roo! I'm considering the course. Enjoyed watching you, will follow, it will help me make decision.
Hi Diane! Thank-you! While this course is an investment I believe it to be worth every bit and then some. I will be getting back to it this summer. I have learned a ton already. Great peeps.
Gorgeous portraits, you should teach it.
Hi Patricia, thank-you for your kind comment. The portrait images I have in the video are mixed media that includes digital. I start with a photograph that I personally shoot. I have a course on DVD that I am in the process of updating as Photoshop, Corel painter and other digital imaging software used for various parts are outdated. It is one of the things I love about traditional media, it doesn't really get "outdated". I found that the traditional media parts aree still the same, the techniques with digital are the same but the software and interface changes so much every couple years that you have to see-do everything instead of just small updates each year.
Great information! Thanks!
I am glad you found it useful. Thank-you for commenting.
This is good. Please tell me what kind of brayer’s are you using and where did you get it? Thank you.
Hi Lynne! These are rollers that are used for installing sound deadening matt in vehicles. Here is an affiliate link. They are inexpensive and work great for mark making. Thank-you for your comment. amzn.to/4cBFeAm
These are awesome! I’d never heard of these paints, but they’re at the top of my wishlist now! I’m guessing you would not want to cut them with your good scissors - seems like a quick way to make them no longer your good scissors.
Hi Lexi! You are right, they would be a bit hard on scissors. I usually use my exacto or something I can replace the blades in pretty easy. Thank-you for taking time to comment!
Thank you! I learned many new techniques to try.
Yay! It would be awesome to see some of them. Share them with us! Thank-you for commenting.
Great video! I will definitely try this. Many thanks!
Hi Jean! It is so fun and really works well. Thank-you for commenting.
Agree!!
what I do I I got Epson clear film for my wide format pigment based printer and I do image transfers onto a second coat of wet resin. Then I remove the film once resin is cured. It's tricky to get the resin even though because you can't do the torching this way. one can also use a gel or fluid medium on the cured resin,, peel away the clear film, once it;s all dry brush on clear gesso to give a tooth and then do a final coat of resin. both methods need clear gesso before putting the final coat of resin because it can't be sanded with the image transferred on to it.
HI Janine! Thank-you for your comment. I would love to see a demo of this. It would be a way to make larger transfers without having to try to register multiple prints.
Great video! I did not know about Rustoleum gold and it really has bling. Many thanks!
Hi Jean! Thank-you for taking the time to comment. I love the Rustoleum gold and use it for many things in the studio.
Should the completed piece of artwork be displayed in a cool environment or climate controlled environment?
Hi Pronto. Thank-you for taking the time to post. Encaustic is beeswax and damar resin so it is pretty hardy. Like all pieces of fine art though one would want to avoid direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, high temperatures, as in a hot car, or direct heat. For those that live in a hot environment care should be taken on placement. The wax will soften at 100 degrees F making it more susceptible to damage if being handled at that point. Having said that, the Romano-Egyptian Fayum mummy portraits from Egypt are from around 100-300 AD.
I admire your work, patience and skills. I thought working with napkins, water and plastic was stressful 😮 And imagine if I had to record it and talk at the same time. Thanks for share your art 😊
Bad filming. We can’t see what you are doing.
Just stopped in the middle of this video to check out your channel. Fantastic work. You have a new subscriber.
Hi Sherry! Yay! Glad you joined us. Thank-you for taking the time to comment.
very beautiful 🤩
Thank-you for your comment.
Loved to watch a little bit of your studio and the beginning of your painting process. I was wondering about pan pastels. Do you thing it's worthy? I have to buy them online and they are not cheap but I like to experiment new things. If you can, please say what you think and the use you make of it. I'll appreciate. Thanks for share 😊
I was wow 😮 Do you use that for art making? I like home made soaps. And I think of making it when my studio is ready for me to do everything I want. And that's a lot of stuff. One must be patient. The recipe of soaps I normally see use some kind of foaming ingredient. I'll try it one day. I can say I like variety. Maybe I'm on the right channel. Thanks for share this idea 😊
The all process was interesting to watch. Usually people paint with acrylic paint and then put resin. Mica powders? Never though. I hope you upload the part 3 of this resin process soon. Thanks 😊
You said it was embarrassing to show your mess and to be completely honest I was just looking at your art and enjoying it. Didn't even see that there was a mess. Just a worked in space! :D
Thank-you for your very kind comment.
Wow! So much good stuff in there!
With encaustic are you planning using more stuff layers or just use wax? Are you thinking of filming the process? If so, please share on youtube.
Hi Susana! When I print some for encaustic use I will probably use the decal as one layer. Most of my encaustic is not collage put more painting so I am not sure how I will test it yet. It will be within a few weeks I am thinking. Thank-you for taking the time to comment.
The fumes must have been BIG in your studio today! Thanks for doing these experiments!
Surprisingly there was not much. Putting just a touch on the cotton swabs I guess didn't allow for much. The biggest thing was the citrisolv, but everything smelled like oranges. Thank-you for taking the time to comment.
What a wonderful memorial. I’ve never seen one on that scale.
Hi Kay! It really is a blessing to have a piece of this scale. Thank-you for taking the time to reply.
Love the images.
Absolutely fabulous. So very creative. Your final touches really made it. I thought it was a fox. I also thought the underpainting was frame-worthy.
Hi Kay-My color palette choice and portrait crop of the coyote doesn't help to identify him as a coyote as opposed to a fox. In general foxes are smaller than coyotes with tiny, pointed snouts. Coyotes have large, long snouts and stockier bodies. Their coat is a mixture of tan, black, and gray shades that become lighter in the winter. Not being able to see the whole body, nothing to indicate scale and my color choices do make it look more like a fox than a coyote in my opinion too. Not being a photo realist, I am okay with that though. Thank-you so much for commenting.
Gorgeous fox!
You are a crazy art scientist and I love it! If the background music is part of your process, I get it. Otherwise it’s unnecessary.
Music is a huge part of my process although I usually wear headphones. Being fairly new to YT I have found it really difficult to create and talk at the same time, I cant really get in and stay in flow while I am explaining. So there tends to be a really big difference in creating for YT and creating for me. Currently I am trying to find the balance. I suspect that I really need to go to creating in the studio with no recorded sound, then ad the VoiceOver. The other thing I found out just today is that if I actually watch the videos on YT the background music is much more prominent than when I was editing which is interesting. Thank-you for taking time out of your schedule to comment.
