Aloha, e komo mai to Kaimana Conservation! (Hello, welcome to Kaimana Conservation!)
In Hawaiian, Kaimana means ‘strength of the ocean.’ Here in Maui, we experience the ocean’s immense power, amazing biodiversity, and incredible fragility first-hand.
Through our educational UA-cam channel, we bring people along on virtual ocean adventures, and raise awareness about ocean conservation from a scientific perspective.

Holoholo Trip with Ali'i Nui | Scuba Diving at Pu'u Olai, Maui
Work hard ... play hard! The captain & crew of the Ali'i Nui went on a "holoholo" trip, meaning to leisurely explore and adventure! (I.E. - this is a no-paid-guest trip)
We embarked for Pu'u Olai ("Red Hill") in South Maui and saw some humpbacks on the way. Diving at Pu'u always has the best marine life, including schools of chub, goatfish, butterflyfish, and even sea turtles!
Let's dive in!

Maui & Moloka'i From Above | Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Ride
Переглядів 3292 місяці тому
SURPRISE! I booked a helicopter tour over Maui & Moloka'i to experience a different perspective of Hawai'i's reefs, coastlines and waterfalls. As a professional marine biologist and scuba diver, I rarely get to appreciate "the big picture" when exploring the ocean. This is truly an experience to remember! 🚁 (I'm not sponsored by Blue Hawaiian, but I would HIGHLY recommend them for a once-in-a-l...

thankyou so much, i luved watching this! i wasn't exactly sure if i really wanted to be a marine biologist because i was concerned it was over-romanticized, but this is amazing!
Good video. At the very end that wasn’t a garden eel. Freckled snake eel.
I’ve been a fan of the water also since I was little I’m from Iowa so I know how you feel about the 4 walls and no water. I’ve recently moved to California and trying to find my footing in the world I’m 38 years old so I’m a late bloomer of following my dreams I’ve been thinking a lot about doing ocean photography and I’ve always wanted to swim with the sharks and the killer whales and other ocean life I learn more when I’m hands on and I was wondering if you could send me in the right direction on where to start I’m a little nervous asking but I know it’s just my anxiety talking I’ve basically been told all my life that I wasn’t smart enough that I’ll never make it and I’ve always believed it but since now I have a chance on doing what I want to do and prove everyone wrong I’m ready and wanting to start my dream:
Yeah I’d watch an eel video
Hi! I want to do marine ecology but don’t know what area to choose or how to find a job! Any help?
Stunning!
Why do Gen Zers stick their tongues out all the time? What's that about?
hahaha, I wish I was Gen Z. Sadly I'm an "elder millenial" ... but dramatic facial expressions while scuba diving is common because its difficult to see subtly behind the mask. Besides, I enjoy having fun!
@ Yeah I don’t think that’s what they’re doing. I’m sorry you’re not happy with your age. Maybe you can live vicariously through them, and be rude and crude and stick your tongue out at inappropriate times. I’m gen x and good with it
Beautiful!!
I was in Oahu Hawaii last week as well as November 2022. There was a beautiful fish I would love to know what it was. It was yellow with pinkish or orange and it was very irredesent. I only saw one each time... in 2022 snorkeled on the north shore and last week I was at Electric Beach.
thank you! loved this information ❤
I decided on my career at the age of 5. I knew I loved the ocean. My mother paid tutors so I could study. She always helped me and today I am in the university Called Umar or University of the Sea I love to study when I'm not studying I go to a very nice cafe that is close to my house I always order the same coffee or I go to a bookstore to read some books of marine biology I love my life
Im 14 wanting to be a Marine biologist. Do you have a email that i can reqch out to?
Igad! The music 😮
Love this 🤗 🐠
Stunning!!! ❤
How deep is this tank? And why do dascyllus like it so much? Don't they usually hang around Pocillopora corals? I don't see those much in this video.
Hi, Im 16 and I want to study Biology as my major in uni and later on do my masters degree on marine biology but im thinking of becoming and academician and a researcher. Is there anything you recommend in your experience? Also, I sometimes have doubts about choosing this path since marine biology is not really a on side job ig and and the job options can be limited, is there anything I should do before applying to like ease my doubts ig? Have a nice day!
That’s sad all those tires are there. But love you provided info on it.
Always enjoy your videos! St. Anthony's Shipwreck looks like a fun dive. Do any dive tour operators visit this site?
Wish I had your video when we did a short stay on the NW coast in 2022. We did the walk through the forest to bay, but did not get into the water.
Thank you - lovely close ups and clear explantion of names/ habits😃
Ah im not good in math and okay in science but i really want to work with marine animals🥺
Nina Nina NINA NINA-NINA-NINA (also, a cool video!!)
sci comm is such a cool field i never knew existed, i like how it blends art and science
Yes I want to learn all the eels in Hawaii!
Please produce another youtube like this with more fish. So many people who live here in Hawaii could benefit from learning more.
❤

Your videos are so cool for me to watch!! I’m 14 and really want to do something in this field and your videos always inspire me. Thank you for all u do!
Was that a lawn chair?? Wow!
Yes it is! Unique foundation for an artificial reef, right?
Hi! Thank you for sharing your experience! I am a graduating junior student and i want to learn what i need to do ahead of time... I have a passion for the ocean and the life within it, with that i wanted to pursue marine biologist. ❤
Box Jellyfish 3:42 😱 😱 😱
I love your videos!
Beautiful Video!
This is Fantastic Jess! 🐠 🎥
Hello, where is the hole that goes down into where the volcano is?/was?
I love this spot because you can see so much at shallow depths with great sunlight and color - like those pygmy angelfish, I saw flame and potter's. Because it's so shallow I was able to do a few 90 minute dives there, and there's no need to rush to get anywhere, so I could take 5+ minutes on one wire coral goby and got some photos of it actually in focus. I also love that this spot is kind of sheltered so it's often calm even in the afternoon, with easy entry and exit. My favorite shore dive spot in the world so far.
I can’t wait to get back to snorkel there!!
The damsel fish among the urchin spines! Beautiful footage!
Stunning!
Fantastic Video!
This is such a cool job I love meteorology but i think I'd try to become an marine biologist too
What is the best time to go here and go tide pooling?
I would like to learn about eel species. My favorites are ❄️ and 🦓 morays
Wondering, how shallow do large preditors tend to come in when feeding at night?
