The hate Jake Lloyd hot is disgusting. George Lucas and Jar Jar is one thing but he did good for a kid and when an actor gives a bad performance it's on the director. The best compliment I can give it is the cast were some of the best out there. But when the director has them just stand on a green screen and films shot reverse shot with no blocking or business they aren't able to do their best. It's like Ian McKellen crying in the hobbit. Cgi is a tool, but he used it has scenery and there is that uncanny too clean look to everything. The special effects aren't good, they were decent for the time, Jurassic Park came out earlier and that holds up but when you look at the way he shot the original trilogy he did amazing clever things. They really blew up jabas pleasure barge thing. Funnily years later archeologists found it and thought they found something historical.

I know I’m only the third comment on here because you know a lot of people aren’t really watching Star Wars stuff, but I was young and got to be at the Phantom Menace opening night. I got to see every movie on top of that. My dad brought me to see return of the Jedi as a young boy, and I was not afraid of Vader because my dad‘s voice was very similar I was afraid of Darth Sidious. My point being when I was watching the Phantom Menace I already had known. The senator was the man behind it and was the actual dark Lord of the Sith, pulling all the strings now granted it took a few years later to know that his master was still alive, and he was not the true dark lord of the Sith yet not until I believe the night before is election, don’t quote me. It makes you wonder though how bad ass Darth plagueis was. was he more powerful than Sidious 2:46 sometimes I believe he was that’s why Palpatine did what he did to get him that way it’s smart and he’s a smart man.
