Think Obedience-Based Disciple-Making: 9 Shifts for a Disciple-Making Culture
In this episode, Brian and Cory explore the paradigm shift of thinking about obedience over knowledge in disciple-making. It’s not that we want to ignore knowledge. We just want to emphasize that transformation does not come from knowledge alone. True maturity in Jesus involves not only knowing about Jesus, but doing as Jesus did. We’ve rooted so much of our disciple-making in the West in classroom environments. Jesus rooted disciple-making in lived experiences where his followers learned to do what He called them to do as they ushered in the Kingdom of God.

Nine Paradigm Shifts That Lead to Disciple-Making Movements
A life skill that hasn't been taught? For centuries Christians have done this just fine without kc underground "tools". These kinds of gimmicks to manipulate people and draw them to a specific movement seems cult-like.
All 3. The trinity is in all things, especially prayer
love what you are doing guys!
Thanks for the content. If you're open to feedback, it seems you're really experienced and comfortable in the pod casting space. In terms of making video there's a bit of an ick factor here making it really hard to watch - your body movement may help keep you comfortable but it's insanely distracting and interferes with being able to concentrate on what you're saying.
Love you guys, so inspiring, so clear, I’m feeling a bit stuck sometimes in a prevailing model church in Bristol, England, in a new church plant, seeing addition, not multiplication, eager to move us all together towards a disciple making movement but seeing barriers everywhere! These 9 paradigm shifts are so helpful for prayer, thank you for yours and others great work 🙏🏻
“We need to pray for them”. ie do absolutely nothing for them.
You are right in a sense. I think, and I've been guilty of this, collectively it's very typical to hear oh ill pray for you and it not actually happen. And I have come into the space where I fervently come before my Papa who sits on the throne as the King of kings and Lord of lords and just say hey this person is on my heart. Papa I may not know the situation entirely but that's okay. You do. My job is to simply come before You and ask You to move in a way only You can move. Papa I don't know this person I'm responding to. But You know them intimately. You formed them while they were in their mothers womb. You care about them. You care about the big worries and the little worries they have. You desire to know them more. So Lord I just ask that You persist on knocking on the door to this person's heart. Heal brokenness. You said in Your word that You are near to the brokenhearted. I ask that You shine in a way that only You can. That everyone they encounter comes to know You better. Soften their heart. Give them a fresh heart for You. Let their heart yearn for You. You are so good and that is enough for me. You are faithful even when I am not. If You never gave another thing, You are faithful and good and that is enough. You are such a blessing Papa. Help this person want You more than what You have to offer. Bless them and keep them. In Jesus Name I ask these things or for something better. Thank You for everything You have done and will do. Holy holy holy is Your Name. All glory and honor goes to You. Hallelujah. Amen.
But prayer my friend absolutely does work. Sometimes I am led to pray for people right then and there. And I believe God uses my adhd to pray for everyone. I shall continue to pray you you my friend.
@@kaitlinbeireis7048 imagine how much praying went in at Aushwitz.
@@peteconrad2077 the atrocious antisemitism that happened then and the antisemitism today is not God's fault. It is the decisions man makes. God gave man kind free will. Why? Because He loves us. He wants us to love Him. If we were forced to do the right thing it wouldn't be called love. Why does death happen? Because sin entered the world. The cost of sin is death. Sin destroys our relationship with God. How did God fix that? He sent His one and only Son to die a brutal tortuous death to pay the price for that sin so that we could come to Him if we so choose. Now we could choose to accept Jesus and follow Him and live or we could choose to follow Satan right into the pit of hell. God doesn't want that because He loves us but He will not force Himself on us. Now how would I explain the trinity? Boy you ask good questions. If explaining in the most simple terms, I would use the egg analogy, how is the yolk, the white and the shell all part if the same egg. It's like each part is 2d and the wholeness is 3d. Slightly more complex analogy. God is the brain. The Holy Spirit is the vocal chords and Jesus is the Word of God. That's why in the Bible (in John I believe) it says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. If I speak are not my words a part of me. And my voice a part of me too? Getting into the most complex but I will try to explain. Each of us has 3 parts. Our flesh. Our spirit. And our soul. Our flesh is just the vehicle that carries both the soul and the spirit. The soul is our emotions and the essence of who we are. And the spirit is what we look like without our skin on. All 3 parts make us who we are. It's similar to God and the Trinity. That's the simple version of that analogy because I'm not versed in the scientific way to put it. It still does not fully grasp God. If I did that He wouldn't be God.
