Ep 2 how to get more land for coyote hunting
Well poop! Just bought two boxes of VT's Friday..
I wish I could get a 6mm eldvt in the 60 maybe 70gr range!! Cool idea but your right its a little to heavy still for the smaller 6mm cartridges... IMO
@@sethperry1323 i agree. 6mm 60-70 VT would be slick
Give us a try on your next hunt.
Ordered one today ex demo for the equivalent of $1200 excited for it to arrive
@@philipheelham3061 that’s awesome! I’m sure you’re gonna love it. I would recommend getting a spare battery.
Can I run the 6mm .243 58gr Hornady in my 6mm arc ar15
No sir. Will have to be 6mm arc specific ammo. You can handload the 6mm/243 58 gr Vmax. If you dont reload, Druid hill armory has 58 gr Vmax that are a solid load. And pretty much identical to my hand loads.
Is druid hill a legit company @Preying_on_predators
@@brianlutz8593 yes sir. I have bought several boxes of ammo from Them before i started reloading
@Preying_on_predators how do you think the 58gr would preform in a 6 arc 20" barrel 1:7 twist
@@brianlutz8593 would work great! I’m running 58 Vmax in the ar and howa mini. Both guns are shooting half MOA and 3300 fps. There is a 6 arc reloading group on FB has a lot of good info and I’ve posted my results there. Maybe i need to do an update video
I’m trying to decide between the sidewinder 35-640 and this monocular. You mentioned in the video you had the sidewinder but with the 384 resolution. Have you been able to compare the sidewinder 35-640 to the Iray Finder FH35r V2? If so, as far as the monocular performance only, which one do you like the best? Better image quality? Range detection? Thanks!
The image clarity and screen resolution on the finder is great. I haven’t seen the 35-640 sidewinder. But i have seen other AGM 640s and I’d give the nod to the IRay. I think it comes down to If you don’t need/want an LRF and batteries. Do u want to use 18650s or Proprietary batteries. Farthest i positive ID a coyote was about 400 yds. With the IRay i have detected heat at over 1 mile and about 600 yds ID coyote and over 500 ID bobcat. Also take into account the size, do u run a chest pack? Or just run a lanyard? Are u stowing the scanner before transitioning to rifle? The sidewinder large size can make it a challenge. But i think u would be happy with either one! I deal with feral Texas outdoors or outdoor legacy.
Right on thanks man!
Does this have a 20 or 25 mk sensor? I’ve seen multiple reviews and everyone says different.
The app lists a 35mk sensor. I’ll have to check the manual.
@@Preying_on_predators Thanks!
Thanks so much for reviewing us. Great job on the coyotes.
Thanks! I really appreciate the opportunity!
Is 58 gr hornady the best for coyotes on the 6mm arc
I absolutely love them. It’s my go to load. For my hunting style and application i haven’t found a better option. Not saying there isn’t any better options but for me this is what i go with. I am working on 70 gr Blitzking and 70 gr Nosler BT loads now. Will report how those do in a later video.
?
Bullet for big boy cartridges. Marketing cool-aid.
interesting thanks i was (and still am) very excited about the eld-vt and v match but the 6mm seemed underwhelming compared to 6.5 and 22
I think they will do well in a 6 creed or a bolt 6 arc where you can take advantage of the higher PSI and push them faster.
Interesting, I was excited to run these. I’m curious if the jackets are a little thicker like you suspect. I have never had an issue with my 223 55 grain vmax
The jacket is a little thicker from what i heard on their podcast. If you’re running a bolt gun (can hand load to higher PSI) or 6 creed i think these will be great.
I will be running sgt of arms AR
@@42teethsociety Eric knows his stuff. You will be happy!
"Hornaday" 🙄 where the hell did you learn how to read?
Small school in Texas 🤷🏻♂️
There is only one A in Hornady.
I’ve tried one ladder test with the 80 VT so far. 22” bolt 6 arc. TAC powder. 0.020 off and the accuracy results were not great. Actually the worst of any bullet I’ve tried in that rifle. I’ll try another powder and like to see more results on coyotes. If they don’t perform well under 3,000 fps there’s nothing long range about em. By the time you get out to 3-400 yards you will be below that velocity even in hotrod 6 mil cartridges
I got my projectiles in. Haven’t started to load yet. Gonna try xbr. Hopefully they perform better. So far not impressed
I am trying to decide between the sidewinder and the FH35r. What is your opinion between the two? I lke the smaller size and the 18650 about the sidewinder. Since you have had both what are your thoughts?
Both are very good options. I prefer the fh35r. A better image quality, a little bit better performance in humid weather, the battery life is longer, and if you don’t have a LRF already it’s definitely an added benefit. The infiray app and menu is a little bit easier to navigate and use.
Thanks@@Preying_on_predators
У fh 35 v2 говорят батарейка не очень
great job
Thanks!
I need one! I just have to produce some disposable income 🤑

@@Preying_on_predatorsit just might come to that.
I have two savage 110 switchback "sportsman's warehouse exclusive" 22" target barreled 6mm arc extremely accurate for a 620$ bolt gun. Getting 3500fps with 65 grain vmax xterm powder. Just an inexpensive option. Unless you drop it in a mdt hunt26 chassis 🙂
Awesome! I’m looking at the savage switchback! In a chasis it would be a good combo!!!
@@Preying_on_predators I put m Switchback in a Oryx Chassis and love it!! AND yes it's a very accurate rifle..
Same as fishing, everyone’s running Walmart tackle. Everyone thinks I’m pro because I make my own baits. Finding unique baits can be hard. Sounds like you found a pretty good one. The 556 sounded legit, I’ve heard calves make calls like that.
Yep! Just gotta find something different and pique their interest
Thanks so much.
Bolt gun!!!!!
These would definitely be better in a bolt gun to take advantage of the extra PSI and squeeze out more velocity
If you run a 6 ARC in a bolt gun, go with an 18” barrel and you can take advantage of the higher pressure hand loads. I love my 6 arc bolt rifles, but if you want something with a longer barrel and more speed, get 6 Creedmoor. You can get Peterson or Lapua brass that use small rifle primers so you don’t have to beg grandpa for large rifle primers.
@@JohnHabbinga thanks! I’ll keep that in mind!
The exposed adjustment knob for the arca rail is a huge design flaw, that needs to be recessed nut so once its set you never have to worry about it again
100% agree! I like the ADM mount adjustment style.

Love this. Great job on this.

That's a tough crossing shot on a fast animal
Thanks but Unfortunately i didn’t make the shot. My buddy hit it running. Sometimes better to be lucky than good i guess 😂
Just say you have to stoat bc you arnt that good of a shot to make it with one round
1. There were 4 ppl hunting 2. If you listen you will hear a click and then the sound of me racking the charging hammer 3. This is from my wife’s scope, scope didn’t move from racking the round nor the shots fired bc she didn’t shoot. 4. Idk why the other 2 missed, but it happens. 5. If you say you never miss or never have to put multiple rounds to finish an animal off either you’re a liar, or you just haven’t hunted very much. 6. Thanks for the comment; proving yet again, ppl talk 💩without paying attention or understanding the entire situation.
Ok serious question why it flop like that because watching it’s legs when it got shot made me laugh
Just how it happens. When that bullet hit him the bullet and the hydrostatic shock ruptured his lungs and snapped his spine causing him to stiff up like that.
