What motivates your decisions?
Wyndham is on his own this week as he offers the 4th of the Inalienable Truths for you all to contemplate.
This Inalienable Truth is about the primary motivators for the decisions we end up making. Bringing our awareness to what our truest and simplest motivations are can help us decide whether those automated patterns of decision making are still serving us, and if not, what we can do about it.
These episodes speak of the truths that lie next to our hearts. Not the stories we tell ourselves. Not the things we think we believe and believe to be true. Not the truths that make us feel better or worse. Simply the universal truths without judgement, without favour and without the biases created by our emotions. These are the Inalienable Truths we are left with when we strip away the stories we tell ourselves.
As they build week by week they begin to create solid ground on which we can stand and then take the courageous steps towards the lives we really want to live.
Thank you so much for listening to the Hands Up If You're Human podcast, we are truly grateful for you sparing us the time. If there is anything you personally are struggling with and would like us to discuss please feel free to drop us a line at handsupifyourehuman@gmail.com in complete confidentiality, and until next time:
May compassion and curiosity guide us to the deeper connections we need.
May we see through compassionate eyes, may we speak with compassionate words, may we love without fear or expectation.
We wish you a peaceful and joyful few days and we will speak to you again soon.

Overcoming Self-Sabotage: Set Yourself Free

We've all had moments in life where we are tantalising close to achieving something we have set our sights and heart on only for us to do something that derails it. It might look like old habitual patterns of behaviour repeating themselves. Or, choosing the "known" over the "unknown" even when the known represents chaos. It might be driven by a conditioned sense of lack of self-worth. In this e...

Ep 9 - Are we COMMUNICATING or simply talking?
Переглядів 103 місяці тому
One of the frequently listed "secrets" of successful relationships is good communication. But what does that actually mean, how many of us would genuinely say they do it well (spoiler alert, not that many), and why is it so hard to do? Lisa and Wyndham reflect on their relationships with partners, friends and family to try to figure out why we often feel defensive, how easy it is to misundersta...

Ep 5.1 - Lisa's Story Part 2
Переглядів 34 місяці тому
Listen to this follow on episode from yesterday's Episode 5 because some important things went unsaid. It is simply impossible to genuinely reduce someone's life down to a little over an hour of conversation. And in our conversation for Episode 5, Lisa felt some important elements went overlooked. So, instead of rerecording the entire episode and almost certainly losing some of the golden nugge...

Humans are multifaceted beings and very few careers or jobs take this into consideration. Long hours, plus commute, 5 days a week, leaves no time to feed the soul. Once caught up with jobs a home on the days off, what time left for self. When we are younger, time seems infinite, always time to do things later, as the years progress, we realise time here is finite and so becomes more precious, too precious to spend days in an unfulfilling career/job.

I completely agree. We are presented such a narrow definition of success, framed by an imposed limitation of what we believe we can expect, that most of us spend decades doing work that isn't fulfilling and ultimately is incapable of creating the deeper meaning we are all really looking for.

Good video. What do you suggest if the path to your goal is not obvious or what you are doing does not appear to make progress to that goal?

    • @theblueprintcoach
      @theblueprintcoach 7 місяців тому

Thanks @homuraakemi9556. It's really easy to get stuck in hustle or grind culture where we are busy filling our waking moments with actions in the hope that we will see fast results. If it were me, I would take a pause and reflect on the goal I am trying to achieve. Is it still relevant to me? Am I clearly connected to what achieving this goal will create for me, beyond the achievement in itself? If the goal is still relevant and I understand it on a deeper level, then I look at the action plan I have for moving me towards it. Am I actually doing the things that "move the needle" towards my goal? If not, I revise my action plan. If the goal is still valid and I'm doing the right things I recognise and accept that what I want will take effort over time. There are no meaningful easy victories. Consistent action, even when I don't see immediate results is the only way to create what I want in a lasting way. Hope that helps.

Hi Wyndham, what you are describing is simplistic which makes it highly executable. I percieve what you are saying like a map: where you click to exclusively show limited information so you can use that map to get where you want to go. The whole terrain of the human experience is so vast and complex; from endocrinology to social systems theory ....and all happening simultaneously in individual circumstances > simplifying and zooming in on a specific area to identify patterns; utalizing a symbolic model: Blue Print Model can be useful to execute action and like all models comes with issues and limitations. On face value I like this model and yet it appears very intellectual. The somatic embodying and heart sense spiritual connections of the human experience are somewhat excluded which is useful so long as these other aspects including the endocrine and other complex systems in play are kept in mind. I'm surprised there are no comments yet and imagine that's because the UA-cam (all Social Media) algorithms pipe catchty clickbait and the searches people may make don't include the words in the title to these. So media like this channel is crowded out which is a shame because it's an interesting subject that has utility. Every like and comment including this one helps. Thank you for your effort and time and well done on the content of these videos. I hope you discover what patterns are needed to spread this channel further. All the best

Thanks for your comment @IamBeautyBraeden. I completely agree the human experience is incredibly complex. Far too complex for any single, accessible approach for change creation to effectively capture it all. What I hope is that the BluePrint model is simply a stepping stone away from being stuck and towards an openness to a multitude of approaches, schools of thought, spiritual teachings that help people gain comfort in who they are. Thanks again.

Your delivery is boring me out. Could you speak any slower? Also, with much of the population hitting the wall and struggling just to make ends meet, it might be wise to avoid bragging about the fact that you are privileged enough to have never suffered from burnout.

I think you've honed in a truism here @jw1311. Many of us don't want to admit the things that hold us back are fear based but when we peel the onion sufficiently there is a fear at the heart of it. Giving up a need to control outcomes and focussing on our inputs and actions, shaped by intentionally identifying the deeper meaning we are trying to create in our lives, as well as recognising we are capable of dealing with anything that comes up is the path to creating and living the life we really want.

Love this. So much precise perspective in it. And illustrates how our words and thoughts are not absolutes, not ‘things’ in and of themselves. Their meaning or usefulness becomes determined by what action we choose to take - next.

Thanks Shane, unsurprisingly I completely agree. Are the things we say enablers and bridges to what comes next and what we really want, or do they become destinations in themselves?
