That white 55 sounds rowdy. I love the paint work.
Thanks! Yeah it’s much cheaper doing it out self and hides a lot of the imperfections lol
But the way- my dad and I have watched a lot of your vids in the past. Keep them coming!
Beautiful man. Nothing better than a black 55.
Thanks man, yeah since this video we have put an LS in it and started on another 55. Just nothing like them!
@@nationhotrods I used to have a black 53 Chevy, 2 door lead sled kinda deal. Not the most practical daily driver but I did plenty of miles in it. Now a 55 Chevy with an LS, that's kind of my dream when I get enough dough scraped together.
@@Jordan_Thomas yeah we did 90% of the work otherwise they are way overpriced on my opinion. Buy you another one and put it in there- if I can do it anyone can😂
@@nationhotrods yeah man! All those wires are a little intimidating, but yes definitely gotta do it yourself. Folks charge way too much to do it for you
@@Jordan_Thomas surprisingly the wires weren’t the worse with the Holley Terminator as the cpu but the little things like making everything fit perfectly was more of the pain.
I was there Wed- Sat and wanted to meet you but didn't know where you'll were parked . My dad is sitting in a chair with a white hat on at the 26:40 mark in your video.
Bummer man- yeah that would’ve been cool! Y’all had a great spot right there under the trees and beside the food lol. We moved around each day to a different spot. Did y’all bring a Tri-Five as well?
@@nationhotrods No, but Dad has a 57 2door hardtop that isn't comfortable for long trips. We were suppose to come with the man who owns Dad's first 55, but the fellows wife had major surgery a couple weeks prior. We came for the first time. I pastored near Blue Ridge, Ga. for almost 9 years, I'm now pastoring near Barnesville, Ga. I picked up Dad near Lenoir, NC and drove to the nationals. Here is an interesting link to how I found Dad's 55. I also have other videos of me promoting our Cars & Coffee at my previous church. ua-cam.com/video/85X1MtigfHw/v-deo.html
@@erickincaid961 man that’s awesome! What a cool story- hope you make it back next year.
Great video Chris,
Thanks man, I really hope you can make next year. Nothing like it!
Some one is doing demolition in the back round.
Yeah dad always tearing something up lol
I was there bout a few parts for my 55 i got to your dad's 55 that car looks so good in person
Man you should’ve stopped by and told me! We had about 5 of us make the trek and hope to have a lot more next year
@@nationhotrods I bought a lot of parts for my 55 hope to drive it there next year
Should have run the intake pipe thru the radiator support to front away from the hot air behind the radiator!! It would have cool air intake instead of hot! Would run a lot better
Yeah no doubt it would be better but no chance I’m drilling in that new core support lol. Can also run it through inner fenders which we had talked about and may do eventually
Looks great to me! I can't see spending more than 2500.00 dollars for a paint job. Single stage paint is good enough for me.
Thanks and yeah, we almost wish we had done single stage now as well.
All that work and the door still sqeeks when you open and close it. It wouldn't be a trifive if it didn't
Probably even did it in 55!
You will iam sure of it, have fun
You got a year to get yours now!
How did the tuning go? I have a time set up to take my LS Colorado over to Mo's for tuning. Enjoy the Nationals!
I commented on the other post back to you but it went great. All went well and they dynoed it and charged $390 for everything
@@nationhotrods thank you for letting me know! I have an appointment with them in a couple of weeks!
looking at the same combo but for a 383 how tall were the tires?
Around 27 inches on back and 25 in front 255/40/18 255/45/18
We just got a lifted onward and love it. My one complain, Club Car bends you over for accessories , $249 for a garage door opener, $272 for a nicer steering wheel? They gave us the Connect as a summer special, its junk. The speakers are the worst and I'll probably have it removed. Is that windshield actual glass? I wanted to tint mine darker than the tinted factory shield I got but you cant tint plexiglass .
I already sold it but I’m not sure if it was real glass but I don’t think it was?
@@nationhotrods Already? Why did you sell it?
Nice 55's .. once upon a time I too had some 55's
Thanks, go get another one- nothing like them!
White is a great color on a 55. I'm jealous of all of them lol! Thanks for the update. Edit: Who are you using for tuning? I have an LS swapped truck I desperately need tuned (I'm in NE GA).
Using a place called MO’s Speed Shop in Dallas, GA. Taking it tomorrow so I can let you know how it goes and what they charge for it.
@@nationhotrods that would be great!
@@Hogiewan1so they were awesome to deal with and super friendly. Dynoed the car and tuned it for $390

@@nationhotrods Heck yeah either way she looks good and sounds good is the 55 sitting by your shop for sale
@@Stupidfastracing poor old car is rough man- I bought her for $1500 and had planned on cutting out dash and then leaving it as yard art but I just can’t bring myself to cut it up. Just seems wrong to do lol

Looking great, what a great job you guys have done something you can be very proud of.
Thanks Larry! Yeah even the imperfections makes it our own.
Glad you’re not focusing on the imperfections and enjoying the satisfaction of doing it on your own. I guarantee with a small amount of cut and buff it will look like a $20k job

How’s the mpg when driving normal like?
Around 12-14mpg
Older video, 55 is taking shape, any further updates on this car, alot accomplished, sanding and painting is alot work.

Man that's looking good 👍
Appreciate it!
So when are u going to 1/4 mile it?
Yeah still haven’t gotten around to it honestly!
Nice job! Looks way better than mine 😊👍
Thanks man, but I like them all regardless of the paint jobs honestly. I think spending $30k or more and waiting a year for a plant job is crazy in my opinion. Even expensive paint jobs get rock chips 😂

Thanks! That’s a great idea- wish I had done it before painting lol!
Happy to see another video from y’all. When I was young I was a perfectionist. As I’ve gotten older I realized most people aren’t. My 71 Camaro I adore is a 10 footer to me, but most people think it’s amazing and can’t believe I’d drive it lol. Looks awesome
Thanks and yeah I agree- it’s so easy to nitpick when doing it but once done it’s not so noticeable.
