She said let that security deposit be your motivation. I love her lmfao
😆 🤣 😂
I lost it When she said easier going on than coming off I felt that bc that’s why I’m here 😂😂😂😂
Thank you, thank you, thank you! The blowdryer was key. 🙂
You're so welcome!
Thank you
You're welcome
Thanks for taking the time to show us the step-by-step. It gives me encouragement that the job can be done.
I found your instruction the absolutely most clear of all I think 20 videos I have watched on how to do this!! Also, I love the finish.
Thank you for the feedback. I'm so happy this helped you. ☺️
Thank you that helped a lot 👍🏼
Does the smell of fabric softener ever leave?!
Yes, there was a point where it wasn't as potent, but I didn't chart when that happened.
Omg, THANK YOU for this Video, Hallelujah!! 😅
You're so welcome 😆
Thank you!!! What a job!!! You saved a lot of people a lot of guessing and work!! I've rubbed the skin on my fingers in the past, and it hurts!!! I think I'll try using a plastic paint scraper! Thank you!!!
OMG THE HAMMER 🔨 ☠️
Oh my goodness you are amazing!! THANK YOU!!🤩🙏
This stuff is ridiculous I had the same mount and yes the hanger part was the hardest to remove
Thank you! My college dorm doesn’t allow any adhesives 😅
This video saved me! Thank you!
You're very welcome.
Not to be rude, but rather to potentially save others time... I tried doing the blow dryer thing and it was taking so long, so I searched online and I tried another method suggested. I used Vaseline and a putty knife, and it came off in under 3 minutes.
What kind of Vaseline product you use?
I used a product similar to Vaseline and it stopped the adhesive from sticking to itself and making it harder. Helped out but still takes elbow grease.
Okay, you can get these cleanly off in minutes. Just warm the edge only so you can start to peel. Do not warm any more, peel it cold across the face of the tile so not to pull the tile off the wall. The adhesive sticks to the film and not the tile so there's no glue to remove from the tile. If you warm the whole sticker the adhesive sticks to the tile and is a pain to remove.
I want to put something on the wall but it's a firewall but I don't know hal because it's a firewall
Are you referring to a fireplace?
The renters will be so happy to have a clean house. My landlord just dont gaf about it so i have to clean the apartment myself
Mineral spirits might be easier. Just try a hidden spot first. And when you remove the contact paper, use a hair dryer to soften it up. This may pull off more adhesive from the start.
Thank you SO much for the hair dryer info! Helped me a lot!!
Let your cleaning deposit be your motivation! You read my mind! 😄😄😄
Your diy is amazing! It's motivates me a lot to do the same! Thank you for sharing your tips!
I literally have the opposite problem. I can get them to stay on. I can’t believe how well stuck they are to your tile. Thank you for sharing this video! ❤
Is the area dry? 🤔
Clean your tile with alcohol and make sure it's dry, these pads stick incredibly well.
Yow this gave me water bumps maaaan lol
I'm so sorry
This was very helpful! Thank you!
So welcome
You did a great job. I'm an apartment maintenance guy and have been for a long time. These past few years these things have been popping up far too often and you are absolutely correct that it takes hours of painful work. I've actually scraped the glaze off of the tile using a heat gun and putty knife. Maybe I'll try the butter knife next time.
Thank you, for your direct directions on the measurements of the paint, the mixing, the sanding, and blending. It is so helpful and I love the fact that you didn't do alot of side box talking during your video. Thank you again I have started my project.
What kind of paint is it ?
People like you are the real heroes! Thank you so much for sharing 💕
Thank you for your support 🙌
You'd be glad that just now I’ve liked your UA-cam Channel. Cos, your content was really awesome. But unfortunately, there are not much views and subscribers. I noticed that your video SEO score is too weak according to your needs. Because of that, your video is not reaching your target audience. You will be glad to hear that I can help you increase your SEO score so that it is top on the first page of UA-cam which will increase your subscribers and views organically. So, if you want to do this, I await your response.
I need to know what you were standing on in order to reach all the way up there! This is my big challenge today. My ladder obviously doesn't fit in the dang tub! LOL
The tub lol
me moving tomorrow like ✍️
Lol good luck
Can i use the same method if I want to paint over a soft leather chair?
I'm not 100% sure but I don't see why there would be an issue.
I’m about to do this because no matter how much I clean my bathroom it be smelling soooo musty 😂
Yeah, it's crazy what sitting water can do. I hope that stops the smell.
You probably should have your dog in a separate room the dust is very bad for animals and you probably should be doing this outside anyway for ventilation otherwise you could definitely get cancer
Note taken, I appreciate it! ☺️
Great Video !
Isopropyl alcohol. Use hard plastic adhesive remove. Create an opening the edges. Try peeling upwards and toward the hardest portion where the hooks are located. This creates leverage and can easily release the rest of the adhesive.
Rubbing alcohol, paper towels and plastic wrap. Let alcohol covered paper towels soak in covered with wrap. Check every 20 minutes or so. Comes off easily!
Omg. I'm moving out of my apartment next week and this shit was STUCK. Thank you! It literally took me like 20 mins. I def have a few blisters on my thumbs but that's a small price to pay when it could have been a ton of money in "damages" from my apartment
How is it that Beautiful sexy Curvy like you don't have a ring pn your finger
Thank you girl for this video I made my life easier.
Glad it was helpful!
I can't use a blow dryer because there's no socket nearby. What can I do so I can reuse it? I just want to turn it
Can you buy an extension cord or borrow it from somewhere else in the house?
Thanks I will try this!
Did it work?
Great video, thanks so much for posting!! I just had to do this for 3 year old shower shelves and GIRL... let me tell it was a struggle at first. The heat gun did not work for me unfortunately, so....FOR ANYONE ELSE WHO THE HEAT GUN DOES NOT WORK FOR/ A GREAT ALTERNATIVE METHOD: 1. You'll need 2 people, a spray bottle, rubbing alcohol (70% or higher), and a putty knife (pair of pliers optional for grip) 2. Start at the corner of the adhesive piece. One person will hold the spray bottle full of rubbing alcohol and the other the putty knife. 3. Spray the corner with a bit of rubbing alcohol while SIMULTANEOUSLY wiggling the putty knife BEHIND the adhesive and the plastic. This piece is super important because if you start off ensuring that the putty knife is behind BOTH the plastic AND the adhesive, this method will work to remove it all it one piece and absolutely NO RESIDUE will be left behind AT ALL 4. Once you have a sizeable enough corner off that you can either pull with your fingertips or a pair of pliers (pliers for better grip cause the alcohol makes everything slippery) one person will continue to spray the alcohol while the other GENTLY AND SLOWLY pull the piece off. You may have to stop and get a different grip when you get to the part where the hook is cause it's a thicker plastic, but as long as you pull it little by little and constantly spray the alcohol, it will come off COMPLETELY CLEAN, no residue at all to deal with! --With this method we were able to remove 3 strips in under 10 minutes with no residue left behind! It took over two hours for the first gun trying the heat gun method and goo gone and it did not work and still left a sticky mess that we had to go back and use the rubbing alcohol and putty knife to get off. Sorry for the super long comment but after going through this I really wanted to let anyone looking for this info know cause it really was a GAME CHANGER for us and kept my security deposit intact!! May God bless every single person that reads this! Accept Jesus today if you haven't already, He loves you no matter what, seriously!!!
Thanks for this post. Helped so much. I'd add to use 91% alcohol and a tile/glass scraper. My husband tried different plastic scrapers, razors, and knives. But the game changer was switching to the tile and glass scraper! And applying the alcohol then scrape technique, small sections at a time.
@berlindablanc3399 that's a great addition, so glad it worked for you!!
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND USE A PLASTIC SPATULA TO SCRAPE OFF THE PLASTIC AND THE STICKY GOO!! You can apply pressure without worrying about scratching your tile. Hot water, steam, goo gone and cleaner all work BUT USE THE PLASTIC SPATULA AND SAVE YOURSELF HOURS AND EXCRUCIATING PAIN
I tried every everything, alcohol, knife, blow dryer. The adhesive is not coming out 😢
I have one more proposition for you.... I don't know if this will work but what if you used parchment paper and an iron over it to really heat it up? I used this technique to remove my vinyl tile that wouldn't budge. Please be careful...
at some point I decided that the "200"( each apartment is different) dollar fix wasn't enough for me to sit and worry about trying to get it up since when they refinished the bathroom they did a bad job. so I Was still careful but not as careful before because no mater how hard I tried to take it inch by inch it still ripped the glaze off the wall.
Wow, yeah I totally understand. I pray it all works out for you, good luck. 🤞
After fighting with one for hours, I researched and found this. It took me less than 5 minutes to get it off with this technique. Thank you thank you!! You're a lifesaver
I moving out of my dorm and I could not figure out how to get mine off my shower wall. This method worked thank you so much! 😭
That’s not mold that’s dirt 🤢
