Ant and Darren are back for this week's Beer O'clock, all about your compulsory kit for the Further Faster 'Wilderbeast' 30KM race at Skedaddle NZ.
The Skedaddle is just over two months away, on April 26th, so if this is something you want to have a crack at, you've still got time! 30KM is not the only option there is a 10, 15 and 42KM as well, and the 4KM race for the kids, so there's something for everyone!
The best part? Aside from being in a very very beautiful part of the country? The money raised from the race goes back into Island Hills Station to help The Mandamus Preservation Reserve, which is 3,300ha of ungrazed land, keep predators out in the hope of one day reintroducing the kiwi into the space - how good!
And the beer is a special one too, not one you can just go out and buy! It's the 'Skedaddle' Larger from local North Canterbury brewery Brew Moon Brewing Co and it was met with approval here! The man on the can is Shaun Monk, The 'Bush Janitor' of Island Hills Station and the man behind their beautiful private walking trail.
