“Letters From a Stoic,” also known as “Epistulae Morales ad Lucilium,” is a collection of 124 letters written by the Roman philosopher Seneca the Younger to his friend Lucilius. These letters, composed over the last few years of Seneca’s life, provide a window into the mind of one of Stoicism’s greatest thinkers.

"My door has not been continually creaking on its hinges nor will my curtain be pulled aside; my thoughts may march safely on, - and that is all the more necessary for one who goes independently and follows out his own path. Do I then follow no predecessors?"
