As a taxpayer you are allowed to object if you aren't happy with an assessment by the commissioner, there's a section 102 of the tax adm act that allows individuals to prove that the assessment is incorrect and objection vehicle is there to utilise but many taxpayers don't have an appetite for that route. Tax planning speaks to such issues to protect the quality of income. Capital and revenue status make a huge difference when it comes to tax brackets

The Government would be much happier if we do not try to make extra income. I see why all crypto Bros move to UAE. At the end of the day, the money gets spent in this country, every product bought has VAT in its price (Tax Paid) Why add Capital Gains Tax &/or Income Tax? The little Guy gets taxed at the same rate as the big institutions. How do we create employment or boost the economy if the Taxman discourages us to trade. I don't remember getting a Wake Up call to get ready for work from SARS, not even coming to my office to make sure everything is fine, but as soon as you use your brain, talents, time and energy, Taxman on your door, came to collect immediately after you get paid. Way forward here is to receive the R350 from Government and go stay in the bushes. One other thing I've learned is that, even if you file your Taxes on time, do everything that is required by you, they will still make sure you owe them, either by a fraudulent Audit that comes out from nowhere, or you could be targeted by I don't know who. TAX REVOLT!!!

The Government claims they want to "level" the playing field for local and international enterprises and what the lady meant to say was: Foreign employers will certainly replace locals with workers from India, China and the UAE. It would be in the best interests of business to stop working with South Africans and if I was in their shoes I certainly would have to stop than try explaining this to my shareholders. Offshore clients would have to spend on a local presence, pay extra for a local representative, pay extra for local accounting services and pay extra for employer contributions to Sars instead of just stop doing business with South Africans. Foreign entities also have their own revenue authorities to deal with, who expect them to maintain accounting and administrative systems which also costs money. The offshore authorities will see additional outflows to Sars and will lacnch additional audits and exchange control regulations also kick in when certain money outflow thresholds are reached. A person legally bound to their fiduciary duty of acting in a company's best interests knows better than to increase operational inconveniences. Our Government is seeing to it that the South African economy maintains getting downgraded by international valuers, they're also seeing to it the local unemployment rate stays as high as possible by eliminating the opportunity for people to work seamlessly with international clients. Locals already have to pay a provisional tax of up to 45% on all income earned from foreign sources and this is still not enough to satisfy our Government who feels the need to also involve foreign entities in the administrative task of revenue collection. There is no longer a choice if you want to earn globally, staying in South Africa is no longer viable with a serious lack of opportunity and a government that's creating anti capitalist legislation. If they put this into law a huge percentage of provisional taxpayers will probably be lost and society will head in the same dark direction as Eskom and 90% of Municipalities. What's left now is for our Government to tell international buyers of our local goods for export that they need to have a local branch registered with Sars in order to buy our locally produced goods. This they believe will put the foreigners on a level field with domestic customers. This is the same logic being applied in this matter at hand involving the international supply of local services being made difficult to procure for internationals. A smart customer always takes their money where it will be appreciated and yield the best value. This is why they will not get my vote if economic destruction is what they go to work for.
