(Two days later) (Word of what happened in Canterlot spread almost instantly. Sonic is currently in the dungeon of the castle, while his punishment is discussed amongst the Princesses.) (Ponyville) (Twilight's castle) Spike: I can't believe he'd do something like that. Twilight: It is hard to believe. Sonic was Starlight's best friend, yet he nearly destroyed Canterlot. I just hope she's okay. (Spike burps out a letter.) This one won't end well. (Twilight reads the letter.) Starlight's not gonna like this. Spike: What does it say? Twilight: We've been requested to come to Canterlot. It also says to bring the Elements of Harmony. (sighs) We're going to use them to turn Sonic to stone. Spike: What?! That can't be true! Twilight: It's what the letter says. If this doesn't work, he'll either be exiled or locked away in Tartarus. C'mon Spike, let's get this over with. (In dismay, Twilight sets out to gather her friends.)

(Meanwhile, at Ponyville Hospital, Starlight was recovering from her injuries. She could move around again but her wings were still too sore to use.) Starlight: (thinking) Sonic, how could you do this to me? I thought we were best friends. Nurse Redheart: You'll be cleared to leave in a couple of hours. Starlight: Thanks for the update. Have you heard any news about Sonic? Nurse Redheart: He was apprehended a couple of days ago. Celestia and Luna are deciding what to do with him. (Starlight looks out the window and can see the Mane Six carrying the Elements of Harmony.) Starlight: I think I just figured out what his punishment is. I'd like to see what will happen to him if that's alright. Nurse Redheart: I'll see what I can do. (A few minutes pass and Redheart is back in the room.) You're all set. (Starlight thanks her and teleports over to Canterlot Castle.)

(Canterlot Castle) (Dungeon) (Sonic is laying in his cell, waiting for a decision from the Princesses about Super Sonic's actions.) Sonic: (thinking) There's not much I can do other than sit and wait. If I try to escape, it'll only make things worse. (Tails can heard on Sonic's communicator.) Tails: Sonic, can you hear me? Sonic: Loud and clear, buddy. What's going on? Tails: Where are you? I haven't heard from you in a couple days. Sonic: Long story short, I'm in a castle dungeon being punished for something I didn't do. Tails: Do you know who did it? Sonic: Yeah, it was my super form. Tails: How does that work? You just said you didn't do it. Sonic: Can you find out what's going on? Tails: Proving your innocence won't be so easy. Sonic: Tell me about it. I think I've lost any friends I had here, including Starlight. Tails: Just try to hold out as long as you can. I'll come up with something. (A guard starting walking towards Sonic's cell.) Sonic: I've gotta go. (Sonic turns off his communicator.) Guard: Follow me. The Princesses are waiting. (The guard opens the door and Sonic follows behind.)

(Throne Room) Princess Celestia: Sonic the Hedgehog, I didn't think this day would come. Princess Luna: Have you no shame? You destroyed most of Canterlot and attacked your best friend. Sonic: Though I didn't do it, there would be too much difficulty in my explanation of the culprit. Princess Celestia: Have you any final words? Sonic: I only wish to give something to Starlight. But first, (Sonic turns on his communicator.) for anyone listening on this channel, this may be the last time you hear from me. I intend to hand my communicator to Starlight Glimmer. (to Starlight) I'd like for you to hold on to this communicator. You can keep in touch with the rest of my friends. You don't have to accept this. I would understand if you didn't. (Sonic takes off his communicator and holds it out to Starlight. She uses her magic to grab the communicator.) To be honest, I figured you would have rejected it. Starlight: One fight isn't going to be enough to end our friendship. Sonic: It puts my mind at ease knowing that we're still friends. Starlight: Best friends forever, right? (Sonic nods and gets down on one knee. He looks toward the Mane Six.) Sonic: Whenever you're ready, girls.

Starlight: Wait, I want to hear your explanation Sonic. Sonic: I'm sure you all are aware of my super form. Princess Celestia: Yes, it destroyed most of Canterlot. Sonic: That version is the result of a build up of negative Chaos energy. It calls itself "Fleetway". Starlight: But I thought you didn't use negative energy. Sonic: I don't. That's why it builds up. Starlight: I should probably avoid my super form then. Sonic: Don't worry, you should be fine. You haven't been around the Emeralds as long as I have. Princess Luna: How do we stop Fleetway? Sonic: From my experience, he can only exist if he has a source of energy to feed off of. Twilight: Will Starlight be at risk? Sonic: No, he needs a large supply of negative energy. I'm safe because Fleetway originated from me and he can't draw any more power. Princess Celestia: We should remain on guard. There's no telling when Fleetway will return. Sonic: I will make sure I take him down. Starlight: And I'll fight alongside you. Sonic: I can't ask you to do that. You were lucky that he didn't kill you. I don't want to lose you, Starlight! Starlight: Trust me, we'll take him down.

(Ponyville) Sonic: Sorry that didn't go as planned, Twilight. Twilight: It wasn't your fault, Sonic. Sonic: At least, Starlight was surprised. Twilight: That's one thing that went right. What do you think of Fight? Sonic: He's alright. I like that he cares about her, but he needs to lighten up a bit. I get that I was away for a few years but how does that make me unwelcome? Twilight: To be fair, Fight doesn't know you like Starlight or I do. Sonic: At the moment, Fight knows more about me than you. Twilight: How so? Sonic: I told him and others who were listening why I was away. Twilight: Starlight too? Sonic: Starlight too. I can tell you also if you want. Twilight: I've got time so why not. (Sonic explained to her why he was away.) So what do you intend to do now? Sonic: I don't know actually. Twilight: Do you have a place to stay tonight? (Sonic thinks for a moment and shakes his head.) I have an extra room, so you can stay at my place if you want. Sonic: Thanks Twilight. I'll owe you later. Twilight: Don't mention it. What are friends for? Do you want to meet my friends tomorrow? Sonic: I'd be fine with that.

(The next morning) Twilight: Sonic, you ready to go? Sonic: Ready when you are. Spike: Hey, Twilight! Twilight: Hey, Spike. Sonic, this is Spike, my number one assistant. Sonic: Pleasure to meet you, Spike. Spike: You too, Sonic. Have you seen Starlight recently? Sonic: Twilight invited me over yesterday actually. She got me up to date on what I missed. Twilight: Spike, you wanna come along? I was going to introduce Sonic to the others. Spike: Sure. I think he and Rainbow Dash will get along just fine. Twilight: Then we'll start with... (A knock on the door could be heard.) Come in! (The rest of the Mane Six enter through the door.) I guess this will save me a trip. Applejack: What will save you a trip? (looks over at Sonic) You have some company last night, Twilight? Pinkie Pie: Silly AJ, it's just Sonic. Rarity: You mean Starlight's friend, Pinkie? Sonic: BFF actually, but yes. Applejack: It's a pleasure to meet you, Sugarcube. Twilight: Sonic, this is Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy. Sonic: It's nice to meet you all. Fluttershy: Where are you from exactly? Sonic: Well Fluttershy, I'm from the planet Mobius. I'm known as the fastest thing alive. Rainbow Dash: You willing to put that title on the line in a race? Pinkie Pie: What if somepony else asked Princess Celestia to write the letter? My Pinkie Sense started acting up right after Sonic left. Rainbow Dash: What are we waiting for? Let's go! (The Mane Six make their way over to Canterlot Castle.)

(Canterlot Castle) (Throne Room) Sonic: You requested me, Celestia? Princess Celestia: Yes and no. While I sent the request, it wasn't from me actually. Sonic: Who wanted me then, if I may ask? Fight: That would be me, Sonic. (Guards proceed to block every entrance.) Sonic: What's all this about? Fight: Remember what I said last time? I intend to do that now. Sonic: Celestia, he can't do that! I was invited just like last time. Princess Luna: Sonic is right, sister. His presence here should not be punished. Princess Celestia: Luna, do not intervene. This doesn't concern you. Princess Luna: Sonic, you are free to go. (using her Canterlot voice) Guards! Stand aside! (They refuse to move.) So be it! (her horn lights up) Sonic: Luna wait! (They teleported out of the castle.) (Meanwhile) (Outside of the castle) Twilight: We need to get into the castle. Guard 1: I'm sorry but we can't allow you in. Sonic's the only one who is allowed in. (Sonic and Princess Luna appear in front of the Mane Six.) Sonic: Luna, why did you do that? Princess Luna: Sonic, you weren't safe there. Rarity: Not safe? How so? Sonic: I thought Starlight told him already. Twilight: What did Starlight tell who? Sonic: Fight. Before I left, I held Starlight close in an embrace. I apologized for being away, shed a few tears and asked if she would thank Fight for me. Rainbow Dash: I'm not one much for being emotional but that was sweet. Princess Luna: I shall convince her to let him know how you feel. For now Sonic, you need to lay low until the heat dies down. Sonic: Luna, they're not going to be happy with you for what you did. Princess Luna: Let them be mad. I did what I thought was right. Twilight: Don't worry Sonic. We're here for you. Rainbow Dash: If Fight wants you so bad, he's going to have to get through the rest of us.

Sonic: I'm gonna go ahead and head back to Ponyville. (sighs) I figured something like this would happen. Rainbow Dash: Do you still want to race? Sonic: Sorry Dash, but not right now. Maybe later though. Princess Luna: Stay safe. Sonic: You too, your Highness. (Sonic and the Mane Six returned to Ponyville. Meanwhile, Princess Luna entered the castle once more.) (Throne Room) Princess Celestia: You better have a good explanation for what happened earlier. Princess Luna: I'll give you my explanation. This is the second time this week that Fight has tried to arrest Sonic for a crime he didn't commit. Fight: So you felt it was necessary to help him escape the castle? Princess Luna: Yes, Fight. Do not forget why my sister and I are still here. Starlight: Am I missing something here? Because it sounds to me like Fight just said you helped Sonic escape. Princess Luna: Fight attempted to arrest Sonic again. I was doing what I thought was right. Princess Celestia: Let's dismiss this conversation while things are still calm. Fight: Very well then. Luna, you and I will discuss this later. Starlight: Celestia, could you write a letter to Commander Spitfire for me? (Princess Celestia nods and writes down what Starlight says for the letter. She then uses her magic to send the message.)

(It was later in the evening at Twilight's castle.) Twilight: Sonic, can I talk to you about something? Sonic: What about? Twilight: It involves what you said earlier. What did you mean when you said you knew something like this would happen? Sonic: What I'm referring to is the situation we're in right now. I can't just stay hidden for an unknown period of time. Sooner or later, somepony is going to notice me. I want to just get this over with and talk through mine and Fight's differences. Twilight: I'm not sure if he's in much of a mood to talk right now. Give it some time and then we can talk this over. Sonic: "I" can talk this over. Twilight: I'm sorry? Sonic: Twilight, I'm the one he has a problem with. I should deal with this. I don't want to put you or the others in a bad position. Twilight: My friends and I are The Harnessers of Harmony. Nothing bad will happen to us. Sonic: Harnessers of Harmony? Twilight: You see... (A knock came from the door.) I'll explain later. Sonic: I can get it, Twilight. Twilight: But we don't know who it is. Sonic: I have a feeling it will be alright. (Sonic answers the door.) Sonic/Spitfire: Who are you? Sonic: My name's Sonic the Hedgehog. Spitfire: Commander Spitfire, leader of the Wonderbolts. I've been looking for you, Sonic. Starlight wanted me to escort you to Canterlot. Sonic: I mean no disrespect, Commander, but I'm a bit skeptical about what you said. Spitfire: Just call me Spitfire. You don't need to address me as though you are a Wonderbolt. I still have the letter that was sent to me. (She gives Sonic the letter.) Sonic: What are the Wonderbolts exactly? Spitfire: We are the greatest team of fliers from all across Equestria. (Sonic reads the letter.) Twilight: Sonic, can I see that letter when you're done? Sonic: You can have it right now. I think it actually did come from Starlight. (Twilight uses her magic to bring the letter closer.) Spitfire: It appeared in a light yellow aura but didn't have Celestia's seal on it. Twilight: So Celestia was just sending it for her. Sonic: How soon does she want me there? Spitfire: As soon as possible. Sonic: Alright, we can head there tomorrow afternoon. I plan on racing Rainbow Dash in the morning. Spitfire: I may bring the rest of the Bolts over to watch. Rainbow Dash is one of our best. Sonic: I'll make sure not to underestimate her. After all, I have a reputation to keep as the fastest thing alive. Spitfire: I think you two will enjoy the race a lot. Sonic: It will probably be our most difficult race yet. I think I know where we can race to also. Spitfire: Canterlot? Sonic: Canterlot. But where can we start from? Twilight: How about the Everfree Forest? Spitfire: That should be enough time for them to get to their top speed. (to Sonic) I'm expecting one heck of a race. Don't let me down. Sonic: Trust me, I never hold back in a race. (They salute each other.) (Spitfire exits the castle.) Twilight: Sounds like you have an eventful day tomorrow. Sonic: No kidding. I better get some rest. Goodnight Twilight!
