4K HDR - count your dimming zones
The purpose of this video is to let people with full-array local dimming HDR displays see how the local dimming works and count the actual number of local dimming zones.
The video consists of two parts - with a dark-gray background and with a pitch-black background.
Sometimes the dark-gray background makes it easier to see the local- dimming zones and how the local dimming algorithm works.
00:00 - a dark-gray part
02:43 - a pitch-black part
Created in DaVinci Resolve Studio 18.
Tested on ASUS ProArt PA32UCX-K display.

Yamaha YM2149 on the Atari ST always seemed more advanced to me.
The Amiga got DMA sound via the Paula chip which is great. But I still love the efficiency that sound chips like the fantastic SID or the 8910 deliver. Much smaller data/files (no samples) needed and still awesome tunes.
Aside from the awesome volume envelopes that this chip got I must say, that noise Snares hella funky

Да. Барига был мощен на Спектруме. В свое время - лучший из лучших. Это потом пришло время более молодого поколения талантливых ребят (Fatal Snipe, например). А вдохновлялись они великим и могучим Dreamer"ом, его треками, которые и сейчас звучат мощно. Когда-то я его музоны, за характерное плотное, сочное и жирное звучание, - называл "Тугой ползучий инфильтрат". Что-то в этом есть :)

When I was a kid in the 1980s, I heard legends about AY 3-8910. Today, after many years, I have the opportunity to hear this arrangement for the first time in my life. It sounds similar to the Atari, but there is no comparison to the Amiga - which sounds much better.
How did you manage to grow up without hearing legends about Commodore 64's SID musical chip? 🤣

Вся музыка записана в эмуляторе AY8910, а Виталик всё писал на настоящей yamah'е YM2149F. Например DAT и Imperios очень искажены, многие инструменты практически не затухают и сливаются одним фоном.
У Jungar'а первая мелодия называлась "Belaya Cerkov Call Me Again". Лёша тогда влюбился и ждал звонка из Белой церкви.
Я в курсе. Но такое название не в кассу здесь. :)
Витя, ты только Лёше про кассу не говори, - он человек добрый и отзывчивый, но всё же у него есть чувства и воспоминания о тех днях.

brick factory for the win.
Restoring an early 80's non-functioning arcade machine and was surprised to find a 28 watt RMS stereo amplifier, much larger stereo speakers then normal and TWO of these AY-3-8910 sound chips in it as shipped from factory. Above normal from the other arcade machines I have restored regarding sound systems of the same era. It's going to a be an ear-giggety experience when this machine is working again.
haha, oh man. Stereo 8 bit bleeps. A buddy of mine started selling those old arcade machines and asked my help to try and fix some. Unfortunately one couldn't be fixed but I do have myself an MPU board with one of these sound chips on there. Definitely going to have fun!
What benefit does this offer above having a decent small amp inside and a few decent speakers? Is to do with how the sound is processed or something? Excuse the lack of knowledge here. I’m just interested that’s all. Thanks

2 minutes time downloading this song as Mp3 from youtube - free 20 minutes time tweaking the file in audacity and converting to FLAC - also free 5 minutes time tweaking an equalizer 1 sound blaster ZxR pcie- $$185 2x Kenwood Subs in custom cases and NBN Amplifiers - $200 2x Audioanalyst M8 Speakers and 200w transistor refrence amp (custom amp) $free + volume >> max equals... One irate italian neighbor and forty eargasms. The 8190 is a truly fantastic music chip... its drum and bass quality is about the best that I know of if you tweak with settings in funny ways. It isn't nearly as vocal as SID, its high voice is nothing more than square wave beep with some attenuation, but it offers throaty and chippy support to a tune non-parallel.
