Sadly, I'd gone to bed before you got to the 'Crossroads' map, but to explain - Amy Turtle was a long-running character who worked as a cleaner/chambermaid in the Crossroads motel. Played by Ann George, critics of the show often derided her performance, but we find her almost hypnotic. Also, she partially inspired the character of Mrs Overall in Victoria Wood's 'Acorn Antiques' sketches. About 18 months ago we added over 700 episodes of 'Crossroads' to our collection and we still haven't finished watching them! (Trowby)
