Hi,
Set up in late 2022, this new company relies soley on its owner Mr Jon Roche to fund it and provide tools and a workplace. No set up loan or other borrowing have been taken out so the company literally flies or crashes and burns. So the pressure is on Jon to bring the work in, complete the work and make it a success. It is literally being started during tough economical times here in the UK (And the rest of the world) with a recession just about on our doorstep, high inflation and very high energy costs. So not easy task then!
Please bear in mind that the videos may contain offensive language or terms because no rehearsal, no staging is done and only minimal editing is made to because reality is what the channel is about not rose tinted glasses.
So, make a brew, grab a treat sit back, enjoy, laugh along the way, complain if you want and comment if you wish to do so. To avoid missing videos, please subscribe and click the notifications bell!
Cheers, Jon.

Project English Wheel - The Critical Frame Cut!
The time has arrived to cut the frame to allow installation of the top wheel and the lower anvil. If the frame distorts as a result of welding, then the top wheel and lower anvil will not be aligned properly and the frame rendered useless as an English Wheel Machine.

In this video I repair a ditching bucket that has been badly damaged. The bucket has suffered from a severe split where the top rail of the bucket has broken and bent away from the gusset and tearing out the skin of the bucket. Gas cut out the damage and weld in a repair patch and weld up cracks and splits in the bucket wherever they are to be found.

I went and bought a sicro 200 Seems pretty good so far. Any opinions on this unit? Advice about how it works best etc?
Hi . Thanks for vid. I am about to buy a welder that only works on high setting. Wondering if its possible to fix . Its a mecc alte on a honda gx
As its INTERNATIONAL CAT DAY(It really is you know) this video has more ‘cat’ than any cat person could endure.. I have a cat AKA ‘The Little Shi7’ and it’s good to see yours is about as ‘bidable’ as mine(he belongs to my sister) .. Luckily to add credibility I also own a TD4 ..
Since this video the cat I thought was a Nelson, had kittens so became Nelly and then buggered off. And I too have moved and gained a far more suitable companion for my life, a German Shepherd Dog. Not a pup but a four and half year old male with a somewhat bad history. However, we are almost three years down the road and Chas has reached the summit of his Mt Everest and is basking in the Sun of greatness. As for Nelly, probably dead like most semi feral farm cats. My sister is a cat person, whereas I am for dogs only but put with cats of all kinds. But my favorite car is named after a cat, a Jaguar!
🥱
So glad you were feeling sleepy, nothing like an extra nap in a day. I had a look at your channel for something exciting and inspiring but alas I was disappointed to find nothing. No videos, no video shorts or even post. Pluck some courage kid and show us how its done!
Good advice.
Talking bollox 😊
I have to talk bollox for people to have something to say about it, understand what I am saying, have a laugh, educate them or take the piss out of them. Which category you fall into Dale remains secret to me. I note your new channel (About 1yr old) hasn't any content, that's not bollox, that's the truth!
Holy shit you need to have a word wi yerself did someone tell ye you could do this thing
Had a look at your channel and noticed that since you created it in 2020 you haven't posted a single video. If anyone needs "to have a word wi yerself" it is you. You have no credibility to leave such a comment. However, I did find it amusing!
@@sackvilleweldingservices add thinking to welding on the list of things you cant do
The triangle shape identifies the jacking area where it’s strongest.
It point in the right direction yes. However, to preserve the sill, people should put a jack under the main structural body stiffner behind the sill rather than on the flange where the underside and out sill meet.
That’s very good. I didn’t doubt your ability, I was thinking that heat would cause problems. The wheel you have in mind I have a question. Is it a flat faced wheel it looks like it is. I ask because I thaught the wheel should have a slight camber. If you can get the shaft out you may be able to get a shaft that goes all the way through, alternatively you may be able to get a bolt that’s the same OD as the ID of the bearing. 👍👏🤞☕️
Heat distortion was the risk. However, l plotted that if l nailed the gussets first, the frame would have nowhere to go. And being double gussets instead of single added double the resistance so l was actually very confident it wouldn't move. The alloy top wheel l have should and needs to be flat. The camber should only be on the anvils. The shaft, my thoughts exactly young man!
If it doesn’t line up it won’t be anybodys fault because there’s so many forces with heat and welding. I can’t wait to see the finnished item because it’s looking good already.
Well young man, we will find out later this week IF there are any stresses built up enough to cause a twist?
@@sackvilleweldingservices I have my fingers crossed for you 🤞👏👍🙏
Mesh would be a good idea yes
I have worked out that I need roughly 45 bars to install the cross sections if I go down that route. Whilst mesh would be good, it isn't cheap! I have the metal for the bars, they just need cutting and welding in.
@@sackvilleweldingservices bars it is just shows I see different types of mesh at car boot and thaught it was cheap as chips. Shows how prices change if you don’t keep up. I need to research more on pricing. Please mention big price changes in videos it’s a huge help and probably good for our international viewers.
@@chox2001 Not being one to get around car boot sales very often l can only give trade mesh prices. Happy to put that in videos about material prices.
@@sackvilleweldingservices I will be buying mesh in the future,
I worry the checker plate will flex quite a bit. When you do second weld at the bottom where the English wheel is supported With there being a gap will it pull it out of line. I do hope it will line up but I’m not sure. British racing green with gold pinstripes would be good or maybe cream pinstripes I can see you now shouting I’m not doing pinstripes LOL
I have put some extra welds around the base and yes, it has curled the plate a little. Not enough to bother me particularly. Green, I had thought of that colour or Deep Bronze Green. Brunswick Green is my current favorite along with Gun Metal Grey Metallic. Pinstripes, not a bad thought. However, you will have seen the coachlines where panels on trucks had a border line around them, that sprung to my mind after I read your comment. It would add a touch of individuality and maybe a spot of class too. Again, this is a feature that would make it unique. speaking of unique, in the next video, I will outline some other ideas I have in mind too!
@@sackvilleweldingservices always unique from sackvilleweldingservices as the saying goes if you have a welder it can be anything you want it to be bar the swearing.
You do very well with the space you have and the camera. I don’t have a huge amount of experience with oxy cutting gear but wish I practiced more when I had the larger bottles, I downsized to the smallest BOC do ,then finally gave them up due to fire concerns from my landlord of the unit. Still have a plasma cutter and an arc air gouging torch .
I have to much stuff, some of which gets used and some not very often. Not exactly an expert myself but I do try to be as safe as I can and economical given the cost. Plasma is fine but unless you have a good genny with big output, air dryer set up and a powerful plasma unit then plasma cannot touch an oxy fuel set. Air arc, I have a Symex torch, some 8mm carbons but neither welder, genny or compressor to run the gear yet.
The arc air torch I have is brand new never had a powerful enough machine to run it either. I did look at the machine welderfabber uses is it sindauer not sure.
The corner gussets I like the idea of 2 per corner with pieces across. The decorative bits on the top would look good with the ball sat on a smaller tube or triangular pieces closing the box off. I have never done much sheet metal other than my cantilever tool box and minimal sheet metal projects in apprentice school many years ago. It’s a craft in its self to learn , but I’m interested to see how it turns out . 👏🤞👍
We are on the same track young man. I don't know how much use it will get. But it will be an interesting build and hopefully better than the junk on eBay that is very expensive for what they are selling. The Ranalah English wheel is extremely heavy as indeed it needs to be and a thing of beauty but not much change out of £10k (If any?) and they seem to be "Out of Stock" so all sold. Mine will be heavy and not made from cast iron so needs a different design approach. The stuff on eBay just looks cheap box section and at £££hundreds each. That is what prompted me to design and build my own and that I fancied having a go a sheet metalwork. I am going to make a start on it today.
Do you know if there is a sound difference removing the cat or not? Sounds so good!
Yes, its bit louder.
Did you have too replace the floor pan under the seat
No, it appeared to be solid enough from what l saw and the customer never said anything to suggest l look at for unseen corrosion.
I do need to check for videos instead of relying on UA-cam to notify me. I think I have 2 Honda gx engines with damaged generator heads and good engines, they are both in the tubular chassis just waiting for generator heads. Or ready to be used as spares. So if you need any parts let me know. By the way how the Devil are you?
Hello young man, At the moment videos are not high on my list so I wouldn't expect anything for a week or two yet. The next video will more than likely be Part 2 of the English wheel build because I collected some parts a couple of weeks back and I want to make a start on it. That's grand to know on the parts side, I am plotting a few ideas on that front. Haven't done anything much about it just yet partly because the job I have lined up for it hasn't come off yet for one reason or another. Chas my trust GSD and me are both fine, plodding through like we do. I trust you are in fine fettle young man?
Hey there young man, I watched the video earlier but comments weren’t available. I see I’ve missed a video also. I do like the kubota engines I’ve had a number of them in mainly generators. How could someone leave it to rot so much. Luckily you gave it a new lease of life.
Ahh well young man, there was a "technical error" when l uploaded the video so had to delete and re-upload it. Kubota are great engines and machines. Pity l wasn't the one to find it. However, l did get the opportunity to do some repairs. Top regards, Jon.
@@sackvilleweldingservices I did wonder where my like had gone least it’s sorted now. Hopefully you will find some gems in the future.

Not much between them I recon.
@@sackvilleweldingservices not seen you for a while, how’s things.
@@chox2001 Have been quite busy but not able to record stuff. If a job come in during May that l can video l will do so. There are one or two l can think of that might give me the opportunity.
Do you buy the panels from a local supplier or online. I have to have the car high enough to sit and weld I used to sit the wheels on 2 spare wheel laid flat under each wheel of the side I’m working on. A ramp is better or a pit , you can park by the side of a pit and work comfortably on a side at a time. The awful part about welding rusty cars is your never hearing a nice weld it’s always spluttering so I just ran a cheap gas less mig with flux core and save on gas and no shroud to restrict where you can poke the wire to place a spot plus you don’t bung up your good welders torch with splatter. I take my hat off to you working on the floor.
Good question. I did buy the panels for this particular job but noticed they were not exactly the right shape so I tend to form my own. It was one of the reasons and made myself a folder. If I had the choice and room, I would have a four poster lift that could clear 5ton lifting capacity so it would take big vans. Until then, the floor is the only choice. To be fair, it keeps me more mobile even if it is uncomfortable, cold, cramped and far from ideal. A pit, fine if and providing there is enough depth to work in. I did a job for a customer recently and the vehicle was over a pit. However, the pit was only 40inches deep and the vehicle was a Toyota Dyna type of commercial. It wasn't fun. As you know, I don't run gaseless Mig. When welding panels to vehicles you cannot really get a good continuous weld bead. So, you have to overlap tack, grind back and check the tacks have overlapped and formed a continuous bead. occassionally, the shroud gets spatter build up, however, when I remember to use tip dip, the problem goes. One problem welding one the floor can be burns from spatter. No means of a fast escape. And trust me, I have burns on my head, arms, hands, neck and chest. But it's all part of the joy and to be fair, it doesn't bother me beyond the few seconds (for a bad one) I am being burned alive. Sparks and spatter get you no matter what you do to avoid them.
Ffs dude what happened to protecting the inside of the panels and turn the welder down
A bit of a beast our Jon... the skip aint mind you 🤣
It’s had a nose at some time as that’s off a county 1174
Well that is news. I know nothing at all about these tractors. But what I do know is, that the mudguards need some TLC and the owner wants me to cut out the rot and weld in new. Would I be right to presume the mudguards are made from 3mm sheet? There are number of jobs to do on it, knocking some dents out of the rims, mudguard grab handle to form and weld on and a few other bits around the cab. I will need to make a dolly to reform where the edges of the rims are a bent over. Other than that its a straight example with very few hours on the clock.
Really can hear the turbo, I remember this build so well.
Good to see this one again
I've seen tractors like that in videos. Some have steering axles, some are skid steer.. Would be pretty handy for a few things. Thank you Jon!! Take care
Hi Ed, This one steers on the front axle. County converted Ford tractors to order as l understand it, so they are very rare indeed. Top regards, Jon
@@sackvilleweldingservices I saw the steering axle. Pretty cool conversion!! Massey made a high clearance on steel wheels, it steered with brakes. I believe it was in the 1930s???
Nice tractor, how did you get the skip repair, is that a biffa skip
Well, in answer to your question, l did a site repair of grab, then something else and then l built him a mezzanine from reclaimed steel. He runs a plant type business and asked me to do the rear door and frame rails on the skip plus a bucket, plus get the broken bit out of the manifold and hopefully more stuff in due course. Got pelted with hailstones, blasted by wind and then the rain came and stopped play at 2pm. Returned to the unit to start on a two major patch repairs to a Transit van. Will continue that tomorrow.
I always did the worst side first.
Sounds sweet as a nut Jon, well done you 👍I own a Freelander 1 Td4 with custom made straight through pipe - I've nicknmed it the 'thor-rore' 😁
Thanks! Anything witha turbo or supercharger with a straight pipe sounds great. When I did a Td4 Freelander is really whistled. The videos of that on here if you haven't seen them? I have also doen a Ford tractor and that sounded great. Top regards, Jon.
What is the recipe for the Dingle superlube.
Ahhhh well, that is a commercial secret at the moment. I have made two different products and have them out on long term test. One in particular has done really well. However, the labelling is the tricky part. You have to be so careful due to regulations and the risk of litigation if someone buys the product has uses it irresponsibly. For those reasons, production insurance, "green"/safety production regulations and only small productions runs it may not be viable to sell it. And a commercial agreement between me and a bigger producer would be expensive and tricky to nail and protect my IP.
A red cart to go on his red truck 😂😂😂
Not by choice, I had planned on it being gun metal grey metallic but my plans were scuppered by the paint supplier. The only suitable paint I had at the time was red which I bought for a job for a customer. There are plans in mind for a revised version, a Mk 2 so to speak. Any suggestions for a colour? Obviously not red! LOL.
@sackvilleweldingservices personally if I built it would have been black but it smart in red tho that should be your color because your vans red, your company logo has red have you still got the peugeot partner van if so paint that red You seem to have a red personality 😂😂😂
@@Badboyyardie Black is a good colour but I wanted gun metal grey and as I said before, the supplier screwed up and time dictated I use a colour I already had. I am not bothered for "corporate colours" particularly. The logo, well that isn't the right colour either, its too dark and when I got some stickers printed it came out looking more like brown so they were just used on stuff here instead of jobs going out to customers. The Peugeot van was sold off last year and replaced with a white Transit. I don't know what you mean by a "red personality" but I will as a compliment! LOL!

Nice work pal,
Thanks!
Why..... 😁
Because it's for educational reasons and a bit of fun. People have done far worse. What have you done to yours?
Beautiful Jag there Jon. Got one myself, same year, 'Executive' spec (looks to be the same spec tbh) but mine is Carnival Red and has the bonnet-mounted Jaguar leaper.
I love these shape of Jaguars as they look like Jaguars and are so synonymous with the original Sir William Lyons style XJ6.
Thanks. I do have two leapers from Mk 2 Jaguar cars which l could put on one day.
100% agree. The last XJ was dreadful to look at, both inside and outside.
🥱
So glad you feel sleepy, when you wake up, maybe you would have the balls to put a video up on your channel? Its been three years since you started and you haven't found the courage yet? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s a pretty good cart I do like the adjustable shelf. The only thing I would change and it’s only just me being fussy. Its the hooks for the cables to hang on, I would just put a ball onto the hook end or something just to stop it being a hook because I’m a clumsy bugger I’d end up falling onto the hook and the very least ripping my overalls. A very informative series of videos I’m sure will be copied to make a cart.
Its been reliable and strong so far. Been out to a few jobs, the only problem, one of the front castors bent over because I was pulling it out of a workshop that was cluttered with gear and I had to heave it over a set of ramps. Other than that, nothing sticks out so nothing gets caught, no cracks or breaks anywhere. To catch one of those hooks, you would have to be drunk or doing something a bit silly. And we are all capable of the latter!
Still got mine it’s not done very many hours work. I use my petrol compressor mostly because it’s in the other unit with no power.
Well mine has been working hard. Last week I had to replace the air inlet pipe from the compressor to the receiver. It basically rubbed through. Clarke wanted £57 inc VAT for the pipe (now in copper as an upgrade) plus delivery. So, I went to the local plumbers, bought some pipe, two 45degree unions, chopped out a section of the mount and made a new inlet pipe. Cost me about £5.00 including labour, solder, pipe and two 45degree joints. I have well over smetres of copper pipe left for something else, one day!
@@sackvilleweldingservices these companies need to stop ripping people off for parts. I would do the same and make the part.

Is this a video from back at the farm.
The paint shops should have a paint chip book for you to choose the right one, I would name and shame these outfits for crap service.
The place in question has cards mounted on a rack. You pick the colour card and the machine mixes it. However, in reality I have found that these machines or systems work as hoped for. I now only buy premixed pain with the right RAL code. No point naming and shaming, it is not the fault of the shop.
I have always used bimetal hole saws and the odd time using a mag drill. I am no expert that looked to drill pretty good but looks slightly high rpm . I know you prefer this type of cutter is the speed fine or a little high.
The pillar drill is on it's lowest belt setting but yes, I agree it is a touch fast. The speed is fine providing you don't go to hard with the feed pressure and add plenty of lube to keep the cutting edge cool.
Too much fun
It was, but only because it turned out easy. It was harder getting the caliper off than the bearing.
Most of the front wheel drive cars seem to have that type of bearings nowadays. Did the bearing come with new bolts.
Probably do, I don't generally do such repairs so it was new to me. Yes, new setscrews. It is important to make sure you get the right bearing, especially if you have ABS. This one needed the integrated ABS sensor fitted and it came complete and was an easy fit. Not a bad job to be honest. Some people look to struggle and make a right task of it.
That’s an awesome car, I have never owned a V8 it’s something I need to own before the electric cars take over and the V8s are no more. Did you complete all the work needed to get it back on the road.
That particular was all done. It needed two coil packs, a service and an MOT. I bought at a classic car auction in 2017 and sold it on later. The one I have now, is going to get some attention shortly, well, when the weather gets better so I can either work on in the yard or put stuff outside whilst I work on it inside. Working on a customers X Type Jaguar this week. Have done two patch repairs to the sills and going to do the rear nearside wheelbearing this morning. Will probably video that.

I only use Ozito cheap batteries but very good for the price and adapter is only £15. They are available for the popular batteries.
About 6years ago I went to Sainsburys and bought an Ozito drill, circular saw and impact driver with two batteries and a charger. It was an stop gap to get going on a job after my Makita Combi Drill packed up. Both Ozito batteries failed last month.
