CXRacing V-Mount Kit Install (Mazda RX7 FD3S)
Переглядів 5 тис.4 роки тому
This is an unboxing of the CXRacing V-Mount kit. This kit is definitely a budget kit compared to the Greddy and HKS kits as those are $2,000 while this kit is around $800. For what you get it is worth the money. I mean definitely not the best or perfect quality as this stuff is probably from China but it is not bad at all considering the price. The one complaint I do have is that CXRacing does ...

Mazda RX7: Sakebomb Garage Oil Cooler Kit Install (2019)
Переглядів 2,2 тис.5 років тому
Hello there, If you are looking at buying a Sakebomb oil cooler kit or already have one, you came to the right place. This is a video on installing the oil cooler kit onto a Mazda RX7 FD. For anyone that is considering this kit I would highly recommend it it to anyone. This kit was super simple and easy to install had all the proper pieces for the kit to go right in. If you are on a budget this...
At what point of a build do you have to get to need this?
You can search the forums to see what people say the stock system caps out at. I would think around 300-350hp you would maybe want to think of upgrading the stock coils. Its also something that’s not gonna hurt to do at any point in a build.
Any thoughts on this kit with Aircon?
I plan to eventually run aircon with this kit but I have not looked into what obstacles you may face in doing so, I am sure there might be someone in the forums that may be running this kit with aircon that may have more input.
Do you know if this kit would work with stock twins?
As the discharge from the turbo's is on the other side of the thermostat housing, you would want to get the intercooler that only has a hose tail/barb welded onto the inlet side (looks like cx have these items in stock) of the intercooler so that you can rotate the inlet hose to accommodate the different approach angle, it would just be a matter of buying a few extra elbows, and silicone joins. The outlet side should be fine, just replace the stock compression elbow with a greddy item
@@andrewroberts6434 thank you
I just installed this kit a week ago with friends helping. Overall I love the kit. If there were one change I'd make it would be the mounting point and bracket for the thermostat. I've got both PS and AC and things are just so tight right in that spot it made access for tools a real challenge. We were able to do it without moving the PS or AC by cutting the OEM hard line from the oil filter in order to get it out of the way. Also, I went with the 19 row instead of 25. My other suggestion for the kit would be ducting to replace the stock ducting.
Yes ducting would have been really nice
Excellent video mate
Fit stock twins?
Your channel should be called Alright Guys
😂
Lol but in all seriousness it was an informative vid. Thanks and good job. Great to see that the CX Racing kit goes on with minimal modification. Greddy and all other aftermarket kits also have crappy fitment and other issues.
No problem happy that the video can help at least a few people.
Is this why I cant hit 3rd gear during a pull sometimes
Haha Yea it might help out
Cool I might get it. Was it an easy install? You gonna make more videos? I just subscribed
Yea it's super easy to put in and thanks Yea I will try to keep making more videos
when you put the bumper on did the oil cooler hang lower then the bumper?
No it didn't hang lower
Kevin thank you so much for the input , did you just buy the oil coolers and kit , no oil filter extender right? Im planning on purchasing this for my streetported FD
No problem happy to help, yea at that time I didn't have a aftermarket oil pedestal the kit will work with the stock one
Im definitely getting now thank you bro
Did you have to adjust your headlights at all , were you able to put the black cover of headlight cowl back on , and the tray under the vehicle?
What did you end up doing for the oil cooler lines that looked like they would get in the way?
I just loosened the fittings and the mount and moved them out of the way
Any ideas on where to get a thermostat housing like that one now? I have the Greddy kit which requires the old thermostat housing with the water neck that screws on top of the housing itself. I'm thinking that perhaps I can get around having to get that sourced by using something like the part in this vid.
I got mine from rotary werks in Miami his website wasn't working the last time I checked he had a insta gram tho so maybe you can contact him. I believe there are some other companies that might make something similar but I can't recall who.
you have 3 main options right now 1) cx racing one and weld it yourself 2) wait for rotary werks to start selling his again 3) Vinny Fab in new Zealand makes one but its expensive and need to be shipped from New Zealand
Yo just wanna say your vids are great. No bs and show how to install everything like a normal person in their driveway instead of a garage. Also wanted to ask, what is the cover/metal piece you are running where the stock air box would go? About to do a vmount and that looks nice. Just a custom fab?
I think you are talking about the cooling panel. I got mine from LRB speed and I know some other people make it as well.
Hey is your radiator drain plug from this leaking? I have the same kit and mine started to leak lol /:
Nah hasn't started to leak but I can see where the o ring is already cracking
Thanks homie. Good vid.
Thank you
Good stuff. Which thermostat housing are you using? You didnt mention the vendor that makes the one you installed. How is it working out for you? Thanks
Thank you! It's been working great no issues, it's the one from rotarywerks located in south florida.
I was gonna get you a link but looks like his website is down.
Thanks for making the video!! Nice job!!
Im going single turbo currently on my FD and wanted to know if it help run cooler or not? Thoughts?
Yes it will definitely run cooler in my experience I noticed it right away that it ran cooler
Yes it will definitely run cooler in my experience I noticed it right away that it ran cooler
Kevin Rosario are you running stock hood? As im not running stock hood, really hoping i can fit the piping under which i feel like i could
Yea I'm running stock hood
Kevin Rosario ok cause im not and dont want issues with something not fitting
Thanks for the vid , just installed mine .
No problem! Glad to help.
Bobby Garcia how does it run? Worth buying?
nice seeing another FD guy out there! right on dude, im probably going to learn a lot from your vids 🤘😎
Glad I'm able to help in anyway
Great video can’t wait to install mine after watching this I kind of just pull the trigger because I was on the fence about it quick question though what did you end up doing with that nipple that was capped off for the radiator since there aren’t any instructions It doesn’t say what that nipple is for
I'm pretty sure it's supposedto go to the AST but I removed mine so that's why I had capped it off.
@@kevvrosario sweet thanks for the info
@@kevvrosario also have you run into any overheating. not sure if you track the car occasionally or just daily drive but in general how are the stock fans holding up have you experienced any overheating in general
Cool vid. I'm looking to buy this same kit but for a right hand drive in Australia. Don't k ow if it will fit the same. Thanks for the tips
No problem, I would think you shouldn't have any issues but not 100% sure.
Thanks for the vids. I’m another person looking at going v mount soon. I want to do it myself also so I’m sure I’ll be watching this a few more times.
Glad I'm able to help a few people out with the vids even if they are not the best.
brother, thanks for the video. looking at getting these myself.
Anytime bro!
Good shit bro, i also went with this kit but i ended up changing the intercooler itself for a vibrant core and custom end tanks but regardless for the price you can’t go wrong. Didn’t have to modify much to get mine on but i do this video was up when i installed mine lol. Good stuff man ! Quick question too, what did you do to get your power steering lines to connect? Did you cut/trim and lines for that?
Thanks bro! And I didn't have to do anything to my power steering lines.
Eros FD3S looks like someone Previously talked it by the oil cooler lines go back to when he was talking about the radiator and door oil cooler possibly conflicting with each other at least that line next to it looks like the power steering cooler line I have the same kit haven’t gotten around to installing it yet but thanks for this video will be doing it soon
It’s it as good as the Greddy ?
Hey man. Do you remember off hand what flex hose you picked up?
Ummm I think 1.5 hole size and 18" long I think but gotta check for sure
Nice video brother. Love the car, but please do her a favor and order one of these she will appreciate it : ) www.atkinsrotary.com/store/93-95-Rx7-Throttle-Body-O-Ring-N390-13-W69.html
Another good video and loving the progress you're making. I don't have an FD3 but I'm constantly modifying my S1 RX8. The only down fall to your content are the cuts in between; as a suggestion you should try time lapse, that way we feel motivated by seeing you physically work on your car. Other than that bro keep doing what you doing.
Ayyy thank you man yea I could do a timelapse the thing is I just need a tripod.
Good job bro and nice car as well. Keep up the content for us rotary heads.
Thank you my man!
Where's that install video at?
ua-cam.com/video/d3kSmMXM1Nc/v-deo.html
Hi Kevin, is that 19 or 25 rows?
25 row, you can get either or
This is second video I watched now, and I'm loving the early stage builds. Same as mine. I'm already for more content.
Heck yea man! I noticed your from Florida as well good to find more fd owners that are somewhat local.
@@kevvrosario Hell yeah, I stumble upon Rx7 owners here and there. found a few closer here in my area as well.
Tell you the truth I was thinking about getting the CX setup as well but still weighing out all the options far as brands. Looks good For the price.
Oh yea if your on a budget definitely a good option.
Yup RX7 content subscribing
Just a bit of advice for future videos . Try to hold the camera steady and move slower . This video was informative but difficult to watch due to the jerky camera .
Thanks for the advice!
How are you liking the kit I’m thinking about buying this.
I like it. It's not perfect but for the money it's definitely worth it.
Cool I was also looking to get the single turbo kit from them
@@13coupe Very nice! I have no experience with that kit.
Did you look into the angel motor sports kit?
No I didn't know they had one!
Were did you conect the small black wire with the o ring ?
The one with the eyelet? I think I just put it with one of the holes of the mount but put it behind the mount not sure how to explain it
Im not sure if I could see a foam strip/surround, But putting a foam strip between the fan shroud and the radiator is essential or the cooling efficiency really plummets with the fan pulling air through the gap rather than the radiator fins. FDs need all the cooling advantages they can get. But for $800 looks like a good clean install. But some of those sharp unrounded brackets will be lurking under the bonnet just waiting for an impatient hand at the most inopportune moment. Plenty of blood for the Rotary altar.
That would make a lot of sense, it didn't even cross my mind but you're right. Thanks for the tip!
