Hello, we are André & Yvonne, we have a passion for motorcycles, especially the Honda GoldWing. Motorcycle holidays were and still are our passion that we have ridden with many different motorcycles. In 2015 Honda released the 40th anniversary edition of the GoldWing GL1800. With this motorcycle we were on holiday in Italy in 2016 when we got into conversation with Goldwing riders there and told us about the "Goldwing Treffen". Until then, as Goldwing riders from the very beginning, we had never heard of Goldwing Treffen. The word Treffen is an international concept in the Goldwing world. This is because the Netherlands put the Goldwing Treffen on the map. The meaning of the word Treffen in English is Meeting or Gathering. In 2017 we visited our first Goldwing Treffen and since then our motorcycle holidays look different. Watch this channel where Goldwing riders meet. I enjoyed the video and the beautiful scenery. Was surprised how many people rode with just shorts and no jackets or boots to protect themselves in case of an accident.
Thanks for your comment. In the event of an accident, people will certainly think "I wish I had worn protective clothing". I also belong to this group who, when weather conditions permit, participate in GoldWing parades without protective clothing. (I always ride with a crash helmet on my electric bike). At the time I read your message I was editing the video Treffen Switzerland. It indeed also shows that 99% are not wearing protective clothing.
