Both of the reels are doing amazing! Like seriously 0 issues, and I been beating on them. 1 was dropped in the river, pulled it out rinsed it off no problem. I know I keep saying I need yo order more, next will be 2 bait casters

I was very surprised by the quality when I got them, I was expecting cheap Chinese metal and plastic, boy was I wrong. Smooth reeling, and when I say I beat on them I really mean it!

For a value reel they are top notch! Definitely give my high end Abu Garcia and Shimano reels a run for their money! Thank you for watching and commenting

I am doing great today, stuck at work instead of fishing but, theres always the weekend. How are you doing?

Hard to say where, this lake is shaped like a cereal bowl, so structurally it's the same all around .

I personally have not been out there yet, but hearing good solid ice, muddy water. I may go out there this weekend if the water clears up.

Honestly I am loving these reels. Next will be the baitcaster models they have, planning on trying a pair of them out.

Great info on the salt water, I never fish it.

They are a great budget reel, I have a follow up review coming out shortly, it's almost been a year since I got this set. The performance was really good for the past year, I fished these reels hard. Thanks for watching and commenting

February is normally better then January.. I should add that I dont think the river will be safe or flushable this coming weekend due to this weather we are getting. Muddy and thin ice.

It takes years and years to figure that river out and still changes. I dont recommend bringing kids out on it, bug if you do just stick to the foot prints of others and only fish where you see others.

Actually at those minus temps, the ice is forming so fast out there that its pressure cracking all over the place, forming more ice. No worries about my safety out there, I grew up fishing these spots and know the area well. Plus I am trained in ice water rescue / survival.

@@MaureOutdoors I've heard that sea ice can be really dodgy at times and to never go on it alone 😅 you obviously know better as we don't get that type of ice in England 😆 Hopefully the water clears up for you soon and some fish get biting! 😄

This is all fresh water lakes here so they freeze up well. Normally pretty solid, and not alot of current.

@@MaureOutdoors ah fair enough, I thought it was the opening to the sea so wasn't sure It it was fresh water or salt. Still ice can be dodgy at times! Stay safe bro

This lake where I shot the video is at most 20 feet at its deepest, where I was fishing it's only 4 foot deep. If it's not safe I dont go out, that's why I post these videos to make everyone aware of the ice conditions.

I have been on the south shore just yesturday, ice is good but water clarity is horrible, 6" visibility at best. No ones caught anything off stoney point or tremblays beach. I will post a stoney point video friday afternoon, I am going to try it again friday morning

I can tell you that I put 25 yards of 8 lbs mono on as backing then 250 yards of 12 lbs braid and there was lots of spool left to fill up !

@@MaureOutdoors but 12lb braid is rea thin.. looking for how many yards with 40lb braid.. so pretty much 10lb mono
