Velvet Sky is a short scene from a dramatic coming of age feature film script about a young naive Filipino filmmaker named Miguel who is on the verge of making his first feature film. He meets an established past-his-prime director he idolizes named Victor who agrees to mentor him and the two of them form an instant bond. Shortly after, Miguel begins to realize that Victor is jealous of Miguel's new found success and feels that Victor is only out to sabotage him for his personal gain and ego. Miguel must soon find ways to break away from this toxic relationship before his own chances of success are tarnished.
In this scene, which takes place in an acting class, Victor suggests to Miguel that to be a great director you must first put yourself in the shoes of actors.
