You Want to Stop Avoiding Conflict - Now What?
I like it when you talk about our type INFJ! Selfish of me perhaps 😂 but I AM important
I’m extroverted feeling but also go with my gut somewhat. Does that mean I have developed an aspect of my personality that is in the trunk of the metaphorical car?
You are also a dominant introverted intuitive, which is also described as "gut."
Thank you both for this 😊series. Informative, interesting and inspiring!❤ I just wish the examples weren’t from Harry Potter! I haven’t read the books and I only sat through the first movie - too much weird fantasy and boring quidditch!! I keep adding to this - almost in tears😢 when you got to the doormat part. I am the exploding doormat!
Thank you for sharing Tessa! I've added some other fictional examples to the new episodes (in addition to Harry Potter collective). Hope they are helpful!
My experience & history with the CIA FBI U.S Intelligence has been present since I was 6-7 years old. The Intelligence agency, analyst or hackers abuse their covert resources for very manipulative strategic purposes. An example of this behavior was coordinated by remotely feeding my father, a filipino navy recruiter, inner ear directions that placed me in neglectful situations at the age of 6 years old. During this time, I would avoid attempted malpractice homicide by this agency. Another example, planned the marital affair of the filipino navy recruiter with a younger woman to racially intimidate my mother, who is black. Situations like this also involved the filipino navy recruiter following further inner ear instructions. The filipino navy recruiter would be instructed to take me and my mother to a restaurant and instead parked us in front of The Feed Store. This is a place that sales food for livestock- animals. The CIA FBI influenced my parents divorce and after years of racially motivated and coordinated situations and scenarios. I now experience a form of public charades & hacking by those who guilt sling, intimidate and test or bait entice a person's behavior. After years of gathering personal information from baited situations to observe adolescent sexuality to what is perceived as possible criminal or threatening behavior in which no person was harmed or threatened. The agency collected personal information from those situations that were either planned or influenced by this analyst. Such good advice. Take a timeout before reacting...
Wonderful, such valuable information. I love all the examples! Thank you ladies 🙏
Thank you for the kind comment!! We are both so happy you found it helpful!! Please check out our other episodes and share with friends and family you feel would benefit. Access to counseling and coaching in the US can be very difficult so we are hoping to fill the void and provide meaningful and practical information to empower people on their personal growth journey.

I manage a team of 15 and we have been having some struggles with assumptions and conflict avoidance lately. I googled videos of Dishonest Harmony and your video about avoiding conflict came up. I plan to have my staff view each of these videos on conflict and assumptions and then facilitate a discussion about how we can give each other the benefit of teh doubt. I love, "Assume positive intent, even if poorly executed" from the last video.
Hello! We are thrilled to hear that our content might help your organization. If you email me at simplyhuman.connect@gmail.com, I would be more than happy to send you the PDF of the Ladder of Inference. I also have the Sentence Stems on my website www.christinacarophd.com/s-projects-basic. If you haven't yet read Brené Brown's "Dare to Lead" it should be on your list. It would be a great resource as well!
What about people who can’t take no for an answer?! I call that taking on other people’s emotions ‘mood by osmosis’. I also used to denigrate myself if people paid me a compliment. Then someone suggested I just say ‘thank you’. What an amazing concept. Like the novel notion of asking for help! Simple but effective 😮
Thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like an episode on dealing with difficult people and going a little deeper into the "Action" leg of the boundary stool.
:)
Thanks Rachel!
Inaugural monologue opening was way too long vs. the focus of this session. Thx
Hi Michael! Nice to see you again. Thank you for the feedback. We are in the middle of recording for June so will try to keep this in mind. Appreciate you taking the time to listen and to share your perspective!
Great job, this is brilliant and super helpful. I just subscribed!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you had a chance to listen!!
This is an amazing episode. Thank you! You have provided much food for thought. I grew up with constant reminders to not “rock the boat” - or I’d fall in. Having never experienced “falling in,” I never learned to swim- consequently losing my faith that I ever could swim. My life has floated by - I remain in the boat. I feel empowered by this episode! I look forward to joining the two of you next time and learning to swim!
Thank you so much for sharing. We are excited to support you on your journey! I would suggest you also check out our other episodes including the Imposter Syndrome series. There are a number of foundational skills we cover that will help you build your confidence to swim!
Excellent topic and great tools for setting boundaries! Thanks! How about a podcast on conflict? That’s a biggie.
Good news! We have multiple episodes coming in the next several weeks exploring conflict aversion, conflict anticipation, conflict reframing, and communication strategies to engage in differences and disagreements in creative and respectful ways. So stay tuned!!!
Imposter syndrome is so relatable. Great video!!!
Thank you so much Rachel! I hope it has been helpful. Let us know what else you are interested in!
Suggestion: talk about being misunderstood and making it worse by trying to explain!
Could you email us an example to simplyhuman.connect@gmail.com.🫶🏼🙏🏼😁
❤ Thank you for covering this in such detail that I couldn't wiggle my way out of it no matter how hard I tried 😂😂❤😊😊
You're so welcome!
When I was seeing a CBT/ACT psychologist he gave me homework and a list of values from which I had to select 6 I think it was. I hadn’t a clue. I didn’t even understand what some values meant (and certainly not what they mean to me). Of course I did my homework. Perhaps I should call it guesswork! Identifying values (like feelings) is really difficult for this Aspie
Sometimes it can be easier to identify what is opposite of your values because you will experience a strong revulsion. The brain is much more sensitive to what it wants to avoid. You can use this by then identifying what the opposite would be. For example, if "Power over" makes you shudder and grimace, then the opposite might be "sharing" "generosity" or "power with." Give it a try!
Awesome!
Thank you Rachel!
Good job
Thank you Tessa!!!!
It will be an interesting journey and hopefully I will learn something new about myself and become a better person!! Congratulations Karen and Christina!
Thank you so much!
❤
We appreciate your support so much Tessa!!!!
