First Video on Project Defiant, unfortunately it not a happy one. My Supercharged Honda CRZ daily driver took an unfortunate hit. Looks like its added to the list of projects in the shop. Of course I can not just do a simple repair..... lets see how this snowballs into more modifications. Enjoy!
Once I update the firmware is there a next to do to the ecu after?

The corner weight spring travel with driver and fuel comes out as 2" using 6.5/5
The EURO civic FN1 (1248kg)/ FN2 (1267kg) /FN3 (1380kg)/FN4 (1245kg)'s (on 225/45/r17 or 225/40/18) have the same rear axle setup as the CRZ (1180kg). The 80kg passenger + fuel corner weights on the rear, are almost the same for ALL. For 'road' many found 6kg a little to harsh and 5kg a little soft on the civics. The crz is ridiculously soft in comparison (2.48 F/ 3.87 R). Perhaps they defaulted to a CRX weight. If you want matched sping travel though for driver/fuel corner weighted, its 6.5kg F/ 5kg rear CRZ @ 1299kg. FN3 was 9kg/5kg @ 1517kg. (I ran 8/6 after 7/5 with the 8kg front too soft without preload and the rear 6kg too bouncy without precision damping) FN2 8kg/5kg @ 1408kg (with usage ranging from 9/6 on track down to soft 6/5 on road) Toda fightex CRZ is 8/5 M&M Honda CRZ is 7/5 with ohlins (unloaded corner weights is indeed 7/5) HKS Hypermax 3 CRZ is 6/5 Cuzco zero 1 CRZ is 6/4 Tein Mono flex is 5/5 RSR bih303m CRZ is 5/3.6 I would say the spring rating for front and back for RSR, Cuzco, M&M and Toda would average out at the 6.5/5 ratio and rating and be bang in the ballpark of the corner weighting too. Should get rid of a lot of the body roll while not acting like a trampoline on the road IMHO. Yes....I am looking at the CRZ as a weekend car, mainly road with a couple of traackdays thrown in, so have been asking the same questions about ideal setup and doing a little digging.

Does the hondata ecu lock. I have a hondata ecu but I don’t have the flash pro. If I buy a flash pro with it work with my already tuned ecu????
I have a question man. I just got a 2.0t accord used with 50k miles that I'm pretty sure it'd tuned... I wanted to know if I can buy a new ktuner and detune my car back to stock

Yes, unless your car’s ECU has already been jailbroken. The instant jailbreak is for the ECU not the flash pro, if that makes sense
I just bought a used flashpro and used this video to check it to make sure it was unlocked… Plugged it into the laptop with flashpro manager running, it said unlocked on the bottom left… Paid him and he left… Got home and connected to the laptop again to register it… Registered it in my name and set a password… The flashpro updated… And after update it’s locked to an older ecu… And now it’s useless… hopefully hondata can help me out I’ll be calling them tomorrow when they open… So just because it says unlocked on the initial screen without being connected to the car and only the laptop does not in fact mean that it is unlocked… buyers beware!

Great video! I have a Spoon Signed CRZ with manual and a Sprintex Supercharger does Flashpro include that setting? It has engine error lights on. This car has Bride seats so no side airbag seat plug, can hondata fix that? I've heard of a cord device to plug in under the seats so airbag system thinks it's on.
I bought a second hand hondata, it is locked. Do you have a link or any information so I can pay for it to be fully restored so I may use it on my personal car please?
@sheldonnguyen4344 Forms are on Hondata's web site. contact them and they should be able to process the restoration for you. There is a fee for the unlock and it is quite pricey from what I remember.
If you have a buddy who works at Honda, use their Honda computer to change your VIN number to the VIN number, it is locked to. Then you can unlock it and then change your VIN number back and lock the flashpro to Your car

I have a 2011 crz EX 6spd and i love it. Ive had mine almost a year, only done wheels and intake so far but they handle super well and as you said theyre a blast to drive. By no means are they fast especially stock but I enjoy it. Id love to supercharge mine but for the price its hard not to just go k swap, although i know its a lot more work. Subscribed lookin forward to some crz content!

I would prefer most hands-on or collaboration when considering a swap. Do you want to find the swap yourself or does the shop need to provide all? Do you want it on the cheap? What kind of budget do you have? In Europe it still expensive 5k easy and up in parts alone. It loosing the hybrid system makes it less complicated but some of it soul is also lost. Bolting on a supercharger would maintain that. But at the cost of it being fully tuned making maybe 225hp? Where with a K swap you can go up 1000hp.

Great information. I have a 2006 Accord V6 manual. I'm trying to install Hondata Flashpro with a 07 TL auto trans ecu. The 2 CAN wires are run to the obd 2 and the adapter harness is connecting the tl ecu. While waiting for a Fly100 unit to arrive a was told I could flash the ecu to work with a manual trans. I'm also trying to lock the tl ecu. Flashpro won't lock to vehicle, message : "Can't lock ecu without VIN programmed". Does this seem expected to you? Thanks.

Im running 12k front and 15k rear S3 coilovers on my ep3, you just have to mess with the settings, i recently went to the track and they did great
@latuba2478 I am back on the project and am tinkering with new spring rates. I was not given direction by S3 so I will do the testing myself as to what suites the CRZ.

im assuming you just need to have the software downloaded
@maleeherrera685 All you need is a laptop or PC and to download the current version of Hondata's software from their web site. USB connection is used for the hardware.
Looking into suspension options for my own CR-Z and this video is gold, very useful knowledge and well presented! Definitely giving you a sub. Also, I'm curious, what do you think about swaybars for this car? Spoon front + Progress rear seems to be the golf standard according to internet folks. 🤔
@lmrePaasen Thank you for the Sub. The front sway bar helps of course too stiff of a spring will limit the articulation of the suspension and lessen the effects of the sway bar. I have not tested any rear sway bars for this car yet. Any recommendations for a rear sway bar?

does this work for the 2015 CRZ? How would one tune a 2015 CRZ with the HKS GT2 supercharger? or HPD supercharger?
@ie2529 unfortunately Hondata only covers 2010-2012 you will need a K tuner device to calibrate the 2015 model.

@gearheadfreak Are you connected to the internet? sometimes the update is not found when internet is not present. There is a check for updates option under the help pull down at the top of the flash pro manager screen.

Was buying theses a good idea for my Miata that has other problems probably not but at least Ik they’ll be really good coils when they get here hopefully in the next month or so
