Uncut Unobtanium: an 8 minute display/rambling of my USA-Owned Yamaha MT-01 Stage 2.
Spite's Corner is the reason I own this. Just for giggles, I Googled if there were any MT-01s for sale in the USA after I saw his first video on them, and as luck would have it, there was one for sale in California. After a phone call with the dealer, a credit union and a shipping company, one of the only MT-01 Stage 2s in the entire country rolled out of the trailer into my driveway. After SRK Cycles showed off the Corbin MT-01 Stage 2, I felt it was time to show mine. I don't have any professional recording equipment, so a phone will have to do.
I'm currently on an out-of-state school TDY for a few months, so I won't have any video updates to this bike, as I recorded this a while ago and have made some alterations to the bike. I replaced the license plate mount and signals after the previous one sheared off on the road. The taillight had some LEDs die, so I sourced an OEM taillight from Japan, and I've replaced the rear fender and chain guard with new MDI Carbon fiber pieces.

Part name is GARNISH CTR PILL, P/N 62412-50071-A0. The cost new was $138.09 with free shipping from Bell Lexus of Scottsdale, AZ. This is an easy job to handle yourself and only requires a Phillips screwdriver and a 14mm socket. This only took about 10 minutes to accomplish.

(Recorded on an S7) Specs of the bike: 2013 Kawasaki VN900C Vulcan 900 Custom SE in Pearl Stardust white over Flat Ebony, separated by a crimson stripe. She has an OEM Touring windshield and hardmounted Viking leather saddlebags. A few months before stationing in Korea, I had a coworker yank out both of the baffles from the stock pipes on my Vulcan. The original sound was too quiet for my taste...

Got my white 09, stage II, ECU 2, empowered with Power Commander 5. Didn´t know they are so rare in US. Wish you all the best and many miles on roads - wheels down! ;)
Once I get back from my crosstraining, I'm planning on actually making a script for a part 2, and giving an account of what owning this in the USA has been like for a year, with a proper flyby/acceleration exhibition.
This made my day.
How much did that cost? Want to get mine done soon.
Did u find out?
Sorry for the late reply - about $300 combined with two sessions, as I took the mufflers off for a week before I decided the resonators needed out as well.
I got a muffler delete done with tips welded. It sounds great. I only paid $130 at my local muffler shop.
@@thatwhitesrt2025 it may have been less, but that was a while ago. I took it to another pair of shops for my tips, as the second shop did a terrible job and the third shop had to fix it.
@@aidanpysher2764 oh yeah man if I did a resonator delete it would’ve cost about that much. I only deleted the 2 mufflers in the back.
cant it idle slower?
Yes. There's a knob on the intake box on the right hand side of the bike that can pull out and adjust idle speed by twisting.
@@aidanpysher2764 Nice. would u plase make a video of hownit sounds on the minimum? I want to buy one but that idle is a game changer
@@factdesignbr That wouldn't be possible. I traded it in about two years ago for an R1200GS.
@@aidanpysher2764 awnnn man. Im about to get a Sportster 1200. any advice?
