Cities Skylines Yokohama Map Progress
Переглядів 1642 роки тому
This shows my current progress on the Yokohama map. I estimate that I am still only 25% complete, considering that I want a high level of detail on this map. Yokohama is my first non U.S based map and is a very techincal and tricky build. The only method with a map like this, is to have as much patience as possible.

Amazing!!
evry time I roads go in there all not striaght and right help mee Fix This!!!!!!
What made you want to make the SFV
I tend to like a mix of flat buildable areas, flanked by hills and it's always been on the radar for me. If maps were ever to be far larger, I'd probably create another map of the entire valley, which might include bits of Simi Valley, Glendale and Santa Clarita. It would be a very big build. I have not played for almost a year and I am waiting for the Map Editor to be fully functional in Skylines 2 (which I have not purchased yet). At that point, I will get back into the game. I'm quite interested to see what map making will be like and how large the buildable areas will be.
is not working for me.
really cool map, you really got into detail. i recognize a lot as someone who lives there and drove on a lot of the roads you rebuild
Can you make a video on laguna niguel california?? i live here and i’d love to see somebody rebuild it. It’s south of los angeles and near anahiem and even pretty close to corona. or even better, build all of south orange county
I live in RI., is there any reason why it won't work for me???
Which roads did you use for this map? I can't load
Hi, I mostly used standard roads and probably some roads in Network 2. If you are subbed to Network Extensions 2, the map should load. I'll have to see if it loads for me and check the map. Right now, I am slowly building Hong Kong Airport, but I am thinking of a Russian map. I see that you are Russian. Lots of ideas. So far I only made one Russian map. the small town of Gatchina just south of St Petersburg.
It's a great tool but not polished. You're better off using a overlay mod and tracing the roads. Far quicker and cleaner.
That's right, it's definitely better using the overlay mod and tracing the roads.
What are some us cities maps you are currently working on?
The last map was based on Corona in California. I built some of the actual city, but moved onto Frankfurt Airport. If you check my Steam profile, you'll see that I've made a lot of maps over the years. I also have a few that are on hold. One of them is King of Prussia, just outside Philly. I have lots of other ideas, but maps are so time consuming. Frankfurt Airport is taking me a long time too. steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198035896056/myworkshopfiles/
Very good!
Thanks :)
What map theme and lut did you say you are using my friend? On this map ?
The LUT used is Relight Bleak with Aguille Verte as the theme.
That is 😎 cool
Thanks :)
Sorry for the noise of my office chair creaking in the middle of the video.
you should remake this with the airports DLC
Yes I probably should. I’m away from home at the moment, but am planning another airport map soon.
I tried using this, but when the irl map loads in the game, it's super tiny. Like it hardly fills up a gridblock. Idk what I'm doing wrong
That's very strange and I've never had that happen. I'm finding that the best way to make infrastructure maps is not using the road generator, but using the Image Overlay 2 mod. I'm using that for my current Yokohama map, but that map is uncredibly detailed and hard work. After this, I'm wanting to make a Moscow project. Probably including the main northern airport and a lot of the suburbs to the south. I'll use the overlay mod for that too.
@Justyburger probably me doing something wrong. Everything is loading up right (i think), just the image isn't loading right. I'm wanting to make a Greenville SC map, but it's just become such a headache I'm about to give up
@@th3_apex_gamer776 I've looked at the Greenville area before. It would make a good map. I'm guessing Terrain Party still doesn't work? So many issues to work through with this game. I used to have no end of errors and glitches, but thankfully for a few years now, all my games have loaded well. It's just Terrain Party that really frustrates me. I think Skylines itself, should have a built in realworld map generator tab. If you do have the Greenville Heightmap, stick with it and just use a road overlay. I followed a tutorial and got it working first time. If you don't have the heightmap, that's tricky, because I've never figured out how to get them from another program other than Terrain Party. With Yokohama, I am actually creating all the terrain by hand, which is taking forever.
Just press control T and it will get bigger. Also, for making the image appear/dissapear just press control ENTER
7:10 the roads are correct just have to make the 2 far right a major street and the far left a residential
I've been playing on your maps since the beginning, you make some of the best maps on the workshop. Keep up the good work! Would love to see some PNW maps in the future (Bellingham, Snohomish, Portland) Cheers!
Thanks a lot. I appreciate that. I've had about a month off, but am in the middle of a very detailed map of Yokohama. It's my first non U.S map. It's still going to take me a while to complete it. After that I do have a number of different ideas. I've definitely looked at Bellingham, Portland and the Boeing facility before, which would include Snohomish. There are a lot of interesting map possibilities up that way. Tacoma is another one.
Ah yes, 5 fps. Noice
Wonderful map
Thanks a lot :)
@@Justyburger How much would it cost for me to commission you to build a Vancouver map?
You know if you made a Tampa map I would be very grateful
I have definitely looked at Tampa before. It's a very flat map, but definitely has an interesting coastline. It's a shame that at an accurate scale, the airforce base does not fit into the map. But...at least the main Tampa airport does if the CBD is in the center tile. I'll have a think aout it. Terrain Party is still not working for me though. I can only get the Readme file. I do however, have a backlog of already downloaded heightmaps. One is St Paul, which I have considered. I still have King of Prussia to complete as well. When Terrain Party works for me, I'll bring up the Tampa map and see how it looks. The orientation I would probably use is to have the CBD to the right of center, so as to include a good amount of area around the main airport. Pity these maps are not bigger.
Thank you for all your maps I love them
Thanks a lot Rob. I really appreciate that. When I need a break from building my current city, I'll resume work on the King of Prussia Map. It's already well over half complete.
@@Justyburger I built on Asheville Airport and I’m trying Baltimore.
Are you on Twitter or Instagram?
@@robthebuilder9908 Cool. Both of those maps were quite big projects. I am on Twitter, but not with Skylines. I'm more political on Twitter. Never been on Instagram and I quit Facebook 2 years ago. I'm mostly just on UA-cam and I post screenshots on Steam. I did upgrade my Youtbe account and will probably start a few livestreams and longer videos. Just need to understand the best ways to do it.
@@Justyburger that’s great news I discovered you about 6 months ago I will try to watch your live streams. Map makers like you are very rare I just wanted you to know a appreciate your work. I’ve been to some of the place’s you’ve built the maps are damn close

For some reason, I was still limited to 10 mins.
Poor Justyburger
Pourquoi t'es vidéos ne dépasse jamais les 10 minutes ?
That's all UA-cam seems to allow me.
@@Justyburger oops
@@mauriceskyliners9873 I found out that if I add my phone number, that Youtbe will increase the video times.
I noticed the edge of the map is not lined up to the road ends, could you use the Move-It mod to select all road nodes and segments and shift them? I haven't tried the mod since I upgraded my ram, but it didn't work for me prior.
Hi Dan, When you select a large area of roads with Move It, the game slows down so much that it's impossible to move them. Trying to move an entire map of roads would be impossible and I do have a fairly high spec PC. It might be possible to move a complete 2km tile, but even then it would have a problem.
@@Justyburger ok, yeah, that's an extremely good point... Theory vs Practice, not always equal.

i watch and enjoy. very realistic, awesome city !
Thanks a lot. I'll be making a third video soon. Hope all is well with you :)
My bet. The measurements using game tile zones which will throw off the real world measurement of the terrain generator
Hey Woody. Yeah maybe it is that. I like testing maps and road generation, but I'll have to get back to my big project soon.
Black roofs don't look so realistic, confuse them with trees from afar
Yes I agree. I will probably start to change some of them soon. I've downloaded a housing pack called "Boomer Houses" and hopefully they are better. I'll also message the maker of those Big Suburbs and mention driveways and different roof types.
Just to add. The issue was that I only downloaded Level 1 houses and I did not sub to the pavement decals either. I've now subbed to the whole collection and the other levels of Big Suburban Houses have a lot more variation. Different roof colours and many different shapes. I'm now continuing with these better versions.
The video cuts out after 10 mins as usual. Hopfully this gives a reasonable impression of what I have completed so far.
Wow, wow, wow. This is fantastic. It looks sooooo good and realistic. DFW is my home airport and my favorite layout. You did a great job.
Thanks so much for that comment. I really enjoyed making this map. It really pushed my interchange making skills too. It's a huge airport. I did build quite a bit of the Grapevine area, but then moved on to another map build. I also found some assets that worked well for the terminal buildings. There are curvy items that were made for La Guardia Airport and they worked well for DFW.
@@Justyburger well, to say it's huge is an understatement. I think DFW is 2nd largest in area (I don't count Dammam because it is severely underdeveloped). I will say it was so good that I thought the thumbnail at first was a real photo! I hope to have the interchange skills you've shown here some day!
@@jovangonzales Yeah I think it is the largest in area. Interestingly, if DFW was a country, it would be number 93 in terms of economis size, out of 194 countries globally. There is a plan to build a 6th terminal too, but I am not sure how Covid is affecting those plans? Thanks re the interchanges. I tried hard to make them as accurately as possible and it's a very complicated system. My Atlanta Airport map was also very complicated.
Hey Justy - I only just now saw this video of your Lego city .... when I was a kid: I did EXACTLY the same! My buildings weren't as pretty as yours though. I see you had the "space" items too (the antennas etc) ... After my Lego city building .... I went on paper and used felt-tip pens (?) to draw cities - each colour had a meaning - red was for buildings people lived in. dark green forest, light green grass fields, I had a colour for schools, and it was all very complicated. I used coloured pens for public transport - so I could draw underground lines that went trough buildings. When I decided to "redo" and area: I would cut out the piece of paper and use cellotape to add a clean piece of paper (the cellotape would go at the back of the paper of course). I could easily end up with 8 or more A4s stuck together. ahhhh .. good times. Thank heavens we had SimCity before, and now we have Cities: Skylines :-) You are JNobbs on Steam?
Hi, Yes I am J Nobbs on Steam. I've had a long evolution in this city realm. As a child, I'd drew maps on large bits of cardboard and create roads for my toy cars, then filled a whole room with boxes and other items to create cities. Once I created a huge city on the beach. Each house was a small mound of sand and I made whole suburbs. Lego was of course a common way to build cities and then eventually I started making small model cities from wood, which I painted and stuck to boards that had roads drawn on them. I made many different versions. I also used to draw detailed maps and very intricate mazes. Then I got to Sim City, Cities XL and finally Cities Skylines. The obsession continues :) It's in the blood. It's funny, but right now I have a Lego model of a future house that I might build, on the dining room table. It's to scale to the nearest half meter. Your creations sound quite similar to mine.
@@Justyburger I love your maps on the workshop - I know how hard it is to make intersections (I dabble in a few maps myself). It is good to hear I am not the only one who already was a map builder. city builder as a child :-) . I hope you get to realise your dream home.
@@hendrikdejong1971 Thanks a lot. I found that I liked making maps, as much as making cities. I love the idea of other people building on my creations and I especially love iit when a player actually lives in the same area. I also usually do some vasic study for each map. I like to know the history of the area and how it developed in real life. Yeah when I was growing up, I thought I was unusual and that there were hardly any people like me with this city obsession, but when you look at the large Skylines Community, you realise there are many others. Not all have this long childhood city and map trend, more that I thought do. Yeah regarding the home, I've been playing around with the idea for a few years. I like Japanese multi level compact designs, that are minimalist. We have the spare land, where we currently live, so it won't cost any extra for that. The design I made is actuallly 4 floors, so it's thin and tall, to minimize the footprint.
I like the map
Thanks :)
I ramble on a bit, but here is a look at my new Santa Clara Map and some of the very early build on the map.
@Justyburger - Do you use a specific workshop road for those "guide roads"? - I love your maps but few of them load for me due to errors, I've used loading screen mod to check for unsubscribed content, but to no help. When your maps do load, often most of the roads are completely missing besides highway ramps.
Hey Ryan, I use Network 2 Roads. I think that should help a lot with your issues. I usually add that to the list of required items. I have had a fairly long game break, but am now working on a new map, based on the Santa Clara Valley, south of San Jose. I also have 3 WIP maps. One of San Dimas, that is almost complete. One of Ashville Airport and another of King of Prussia, near Philly. I start too many maps, I think. I'm not sure of any other reasons why the maps don't load properly for you? If they didn't load for anyone, I would assume the problem was at my end, but the maps do load for many people, even though there are some others that do have problems with the maps, so you are not the only person.
@@Justyburger - Thanks for the reply, turns out I had some roads disabled within NE2 that you used so all is well. Looking forward to the new maps.
@@ryanhoban4649 That's great to hear. Glad you got the problem sorted out. I should be releasing a new map later this week.

ALERT!!! The bastards are spraying so many chemtrails in NZ over the past week I have seen circles and lines griding, this is outrageous!!! I have a letter from Ministry of Environment stating no chems are sprayed in NZ, this is a lie. Right now we apparently are supposed to be in a pandemic of lung disease and they are spraying?! People will get sick and then they will blame it on Covid, this is unforgiveable! I have sent another email to them and said if they do not return an email explaining all the details I will take it to the media! If anyone wants to call me for a copy of this letter please contact 02102893402 or email gammon77@hotmail.com
Wow It's been 8 years since i commented here. Yes, i was cycling along the New Plymouth coastal walkway the other day and saw a very clear chemtrail running right across the sky. So much is going on right now. All these years of studying and things are finally unfolding. The New World Order are really going for it this time, but there are opposition forces too. An amazing time to be alive.
I live here. I can see where my house should be...
How to get this map?
It's in the Steam Workshop, under "Fort Worth".
Justyburger please upload to simtropolis dot com thanks
Really nice map! Will it be available on the Steam Workshop at some point?
