i feel like its fine for them to say that perfection has been brought to Middle-earth, because to me it seems like the creation of the Elven rings was an act of hubris, especially in light of this passage in letter 154. though this further highlights imo a misstep of the show, with the Rings being more of a staving-off-literal-corruption tool instead of a way to postpone the weariness of the world that was felt by all Elves eventually but most keenly by the Noldor at this point. "Some reviewers have called the whole thing simple-minded, just a plain fight between Good and Evil, with all the good just good, and the bad just bad. Pardonable, perhaps (though at least Boromir has been overlooked) in people in a hurry, and with only a fragment to read, and, of course, without the earlier written but unpublished Elvish histories. But the Elves are not wholly good or in the right. Not so much because they had flirted with Sauron; as because with or without his assistance they were **'embalmers'** [emphasis mine]. I am 87 and live in the great city of Beaconsville, IA. Fellas, I was initially turned off by the garish colors ya'll have on. I see lots of different shades of beige, a blinding shade of teal, a shirt with multiple cats on it, and that curly haired feller even has a Star Wars shirt on (I take it he's a Reagan fan?). Anyhows, I thought about it, and even though you boys are much too flashy and presentable looking for me, I won't judge a book by its cover. You boys keep looking sharp. Appreciate the work you all do! KoT episodes calm me down and I wanted to thank you for that. When Trevor started as a regular on the podcast I was skeptical for a while but now I honestly appreciate his commentary and perspective. If Sauron were to to hit Prince with his mace, Prince would simply come back as a symbol, but without the constraints of any contract spells, and would wield such unimaginable power that, based on golden ticket magic alone, would smote Sonyron (👀) upon the nearest mountain of disillusioned fans. Tolkien often doesn't say how big things really are, or how they really look. Like, could someone say how big a balrog is by reading LOTR? How tall is it? How wide are its wings etc? And the same for appearance - Tolkien often says things like "gandalf seemed to glow" or "the ring seemed to shrink"...and you can never tell if it's real or just someone's perception.

I'm pretty sure the G in Giles is pronounced as a J, like the first G in gigantic. People in the UK say "farmer Giles" to refer to any generic unnamed farmer, like they might say to their kids "don't go across those fields because farmer Giles will set his dogs on you" etc

I love this podcast. Quick observation about lithlad...unless I'm mistaken you're describing it as being in the south of Mordor around the sea of nurnen, and this does make sense to me. But if you look in the encyclopedia of Arda they have lithlad in the far north of Mordor.
