I feel like I know you from hours spent watching you on Creative Live, making my own portable V flats from your lighting DYI course, using your Photoshop actions (Kevin's Dragon was my favourite for a long time), and various other travel photography things that you have posted. I even sat in on one of your zoom Q&A calls about a trip you were leading to Italy. I have been a photographer for 44 years with 15 of them spent teaching photography at a school for missionary kids in Kenya. It was during that time that I came across a quote from a poem by Gerard Hopkins, "The world is charged with the grandeur of God." I believe that with a camera we have the potential to capture a glimpse of God's grandeur so that we can show it to others and say "Hey, did you see this? Isn't it amazing!" For the past 11 years I have been running my own portrait studio and doing fine printing and framing for artists and photographers. This business has grown to the point that I am taking on a partner so that I can get back to teaching photo editing and leading photo workshops in amazing places around the world. I have already lead workshops in Kenya and Cuba. My primary goal is helping people notice God's grandeur and teaching them how to capture it, edit it, and share it with others.
My imagination goes beyond. I just have a hard time to focus and go for whatever it’s on my mind. Focus is my main problem. Please help me.

As I run, I listen to Unity messages from many churches across the United States. Unity Spiritual Community of Central Oregon showed up in my youtube feed. When I first heard Jane Hiatt, I thought she was a writer, religious historian of Christianity, or a Westar fellow. She may be all of these things, but most importantly, she is your minister - and wow! How powerful is she? Her congregation is so fortunate to have her. What a blessing. I was having a moment of insecurity this morning, wondering if I'm only good as a speaker because my peeps know and love me. I didn't dwell on that thought but it popped in and so did your comment to reassure me! What a great practice you have of running and sampling the messages around the country! And, to answer your question, I am a writer but not a religious historian. But I read books on the Bible like you run--constantly finding a new one that fascinates me and sheds a new angle on the Bible and then I can't wait to share!
