Almost one year since my last Rings PB! This run appeared out of the blue. Finally obtained my initial goal time for this category, but I'm not quite done yet as I still want to try and clean this up eventually. My last PB (18:41) had a Lakitu 13 seconds faster than this run. Combining that with this much more consistent other courses would put a run at 18:26. Something in the 18:2x range seems...

Fast Any% just got EVEN FASTER! Shoutouts to Vamp for putting together some awesome AR codes to allow for a very quick speedrun of any%. The sped-up chase cam is ALWAYS turned on in this mod. Only this TAS guy would have the guts to use a 1-wood power shot when he's in heavy rough or some other situation in which the red zone at the bottom is the smallest possible. TAS vs. Tiger Woods, now! D:
So as someone who played this game way too much when it came out(I should mention I 100% completed it), why does the TAS super backspin in situations where you wanna get as close as possible to the pin?
Generally speaking I used super backspin in spots where I could get the ball to stop even quicker than if I were to use any other spin, most notably hole 8 with star Waluigi. On most surfaces, topspin will give a lower bounce that stops very quickly after rolling out, but if I can get the ball to bounce on a downslope that curves into a flat area, then backspin will stop even faster than a topspin shot. Hope that answers your question.
