This really cool I wish I could have gotten to see these trains 🚂and I like the outro
now in all my life, I never considered Hornby for model railroading but what I have in mind is using OO scale to model the entire UK in it, while I use O and G scales for the other scale countries for the North pole Railroad.
I like your motor mount conversion. Very nice tutorial on isolation of the motor. I like to use a piece of track connector for the connection to the trucks, that was they can be easily removed for service, cleaning and lubing.
Who made Donald and Douglas?
Glad I watched this video. I knew nothing about making home made motor mounts for Athearn's. They're quite expensive from Athearn and only one vendor on fleabay and his are $7.50/pair and about as much shipping. Their motor mounts are extremely overpriced. I've got several Athearn models to convert to DCC. Thanks for posting. And you're a Christian! Praise the Lord. Cheers from eastern TN
The third planet is hands down my favorite exhibit
Something about this museum is just so magical
Thank you. I got MORE from your tutorial than nany others I've seen. Its organized, easy to understand and creative.
@@AMX86 You are welcome
This is the comment I was looking for! Thanks.
Is that a 1/64 car you have in the video? That doesn’t look to bad in comparison of being realistic to a diorama. I want S but yes they are expensive. Considering O but I think it’s to big? And the price tag I up there at times. I find deals here and there but HO may be my best bet here.
Glad I found this, one of my friends (in the US and I (in the UK) couldn’t find the reason why both gauges seemed different, but this video helped greatly, thank you
@@panelledsquid9890 You are welcome.
Even Frank? Damn they most have worked REALLY HARD!
I need those and god bless you
What do you use for the snow, baking powder?
Not my setup. Not sure what powdered substance that is
@ Well it looks like baking powder to me.
Hopefully they'll make a model train of me. I pretty much have the same shape as Thomas
2:09 BILL? BEN?? IS THAT YOU (referencing the voice-crack)
Wow
Beautiful
This is great
Nice scenery and Santa Fe freight EMD F units pulling.
That’s amazing.
😮
When i was kid it Was Spooky 😂
HOO & OOH. HOO locomotives are American locomotives in OO scale. OOH locomotives are UK locomotives in HO scale.
Does the cheap controller may cause damage to the loco?
I’m pretty sure the motor won’t last as long as
Hey I'm glad my Flying Scotsman and J50 made it into the video! Thanks for showcasing our groups layout!
You're welcome!
@@AndyMicoley1995I went to that show on the 13th with a few friends. I'm fosho going on the 24th.
I enjoyed your tutorial video my friend. May God bless you and be with you always🙏
Do you think 28mm DND minis would scale good with OO Gauge?
After convering to DCC how do you program the eng
Those look incredible! Even the faces are spot on! And I loved the intro, Thomas may be my number one (pun definitely intended), but Gordon has some of the best quotes in my opinion. "Oh, the indignity..." is one of my all-time favorites.
Great info!🎉❤
That takes a lot of dedication and money. Those Marklin models aren’t cheap.
Memories 💙
The reason you have 00/HO is because of the claring difference between the height and width of the rolling stock which neccessitated the english stock being made at 1: 76 instead of the 1:87 of european stock thus both models appear to be the same size relative to each other
Your videos are fantastic!
It’s a monster. When I saw it come round that first bend it looked like something from Dune. An S&M dungeon on wheels.
I love it that train sets are an international brotherhood, surpassing culture at large and integrating the clan of train nerd brethren. All hail brothers and sisters of the track, hail ye locomotivists.
This video was very helpful to me. I’ve been trying to convert my old custom-painted Milwaukee Road SW1200 to dcc, and this video helped me do it.
Thank you for this! I really want to get into model trains and want an easy good set for my first one ever. I will get the set but replace the controller asap.
You are welcome - glad you were blessed by it.
Watched this video twice. Very nice home layout. Scenery is well executed and not crowded. Makes for pleasant viewing. I note this video is now 2 years old and bet the layout is even better. I found that after spending a life trying to make large layouts I have found happiness with my two lap around the wall layout with staging. Its simple to maintain and each improvement is a joy. Mine ,in HO, is in a garden shed that I blessed with insulation and air conditioning . I live in the south so I have no heating. Sky backdrop on all four walls. Scenery. Fun to run . I like your work and your video. I have clips but that's all so far. Thank you. Algorithm just gave me this video. Thank you again.
Thanks and you're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it! May God Bless you.
How steep of a grade is your layout? It looks a bit steeper but seems to work fine! I really like your layout I'm looking for ideas for my own plan.
@@toddnorman6603 I used Woodland Scenics 3 percent grades. Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! God Bless You
A co-worker of mine told me that during a visit to the UK he met someone who had done a full Cajon Pass setup as their model railway. Knowing that I’m surprised USA stuff isn’t available in OO scale for the UK folks.
CAN YOU ADD SOUND? IF SO, HOW?
I don't care... I run N scale 😁
Thanks for your work in documenting this spectacular place! I recently visited the MPM myself for the first time, and like you, I'm interested in helping to document it before it's gone. I spent five full days in there taking photos of every panel of every exhibit (including the accompanying text) and I'm working on getting them organized into what will hopefully be a permanent virtual archive of the museum once it's gone. (Don't think i'm allowed to post links in youtube comments, but it's on flickr) Anyway, I wanted to reach out because unfortunately, I arrived too late to capture some of the museum's most iconic exhibits, which have already been removed. I was wondering if you'd be willing to let me use a screenshot from your video to fill in one of the gaps in what I was able to capture? In particular, I am referring to the wall of Navajo rugs seen at 37:25 in your video. Haven't been able to find any other images of that online. But with your permission I would like to add it to the "Southwestern" album and of course I will give you appropriate credit!
You're welcome. Thanks for sharing your story. That’s sad to hear that. I saw your photos - Amazing! Thanks for sharing. Go right ahead!
@@AndyMicoley1995 Much appreciated! I've gone ahead added your screenshot to the collection with a link back to your channel :-)
I like both Ho and OO train sets, and they are the same with the tracks.
Don't forget that the Lionel OO Gauge Hudson runs on 19mm gauge tracks and is not compatiable with HO 16.5mm gauge tracks. The only track systems it will run on is the 19mm bakelite roadbed original, gargraves OO gauge track, or On3 gauge track.
I didn't go to Mad City this year, but now I wish I did. I went there a couple of years ago. Just didn't have the money this year, hopefully I see them next time I go. When I have gauge 1 replicas, I'd love to display them at shows as well.
I'll admit they're cool I haven't got to see Edward running around but they are tiny compared to any g scale engine
I got to see them! It was cool!
2:45 At least more accurate to Seasons 6-7 and the HiT era. The other Thomas model has a more Season 5 shade of blue.
Thanks for pointing that out. I looked at the episode a "A Better View for Gordon" and the paint colors are more accurate to season 5 than I thought originally. Maybe it was the lighting that tricked me. I said "seasons 8 to 11" to be on the safe side as I think seasons 6 and 7 are the "muddy middle."
