    Well done! I'm glad you listened to me and turned to your one true calling - entertaining people with dumb jokes and pranks. To be honest, you weren't good at martial arts at all. No offense. But here - here you are in the right place. I see ahead of you the bright future of the crowd's most beloved stand-up comedian. And the unfortunate Mizner will remain just a Taiji Quan master, while you conquered the heights of the clown's art. He would probably be very upset if he realized what he missed out on by investing his time in actual Taiji Quan skills instead of investing it, like you, in the far more noble and crowd-pleasing role of court jester. 🤣

      @@indefenceofthetraditionalma I came back just to see where you are and I find you where I left you. A dumb troll with even dumber jokes. I'll check on you from time to time, still hope never dies, you might get out of this shithole one day. There was a deleted comment saying that Chi Gung is essential. This is partially true. All traditional Tai Chi schools use standing meditation and breathing exercises. It is not Chi Gung in the formal sense and maybe the term "chi-fa" would be more appropriate. Either way, this is where the biggest benefit for weight loss is found.

    Cross-training is great but we should get good at applying Tai Chi before diving into the ground work of other styles. I like your honesty Alan, I just think you had access to different Tai Chi than I did and cross-trained much earlier. I still plan to have an MMA match or three but first will be BJJ which I expect to be owned by black belts but I have faced several skilled and active Blue belts which my Taiji deal with just fine.

  • @andymax1
    @andymax1 16 днів тому

    Reverse experience, its been hard dominating in BJJ and Kickboxing, then taking up Tai Chi for the health benefits because now I’m a grandad and I need to think about knee longevity and slowing down a bit, that might be easier said than done though, it might also facilitate moving in slow mo when I spar, that theory is not proven as it was a online course, I might still just go all out with a double leg, back take then RNC over chi haduken moves, is Tai Chi mostly shadow grappling? it feels like it. Bagua is next on the list.

    The thing here, though, is not the video, none of this. What lies below the suface of this, this with the face commenting on a clip, is someone who is going around trying to make themselves look good and feel good, by trying to make others look bad. And he's picking on other people's work to do this. For whatever reason it may be, mental health, family trouble, girl trouble, boy trouble, whatever. But, this guy shows the rot of society. The truth actually behind this video has nothing to do with martial arts, but some guy who has a problem with someone else. Grow up, dude! Martial arts deserve better than that. This is just some jibe at someone, and you are using your platform to do it. Quite unprofessional, too.

    If your "in defence of traditional Martial Arts", why pick a poor example of a traditional Martial Art, unless its to wind someone up! Why not pick good examples of a martial art, in this case Wing Chun and highlight why they are good. It’s interesting that a lot of tai chi guys say that there are more grappling techniques than striking and that’s why it’s a wrestling system. I then have to point out that there are more grappling techniques in MMA than striking but that we wouldn’t call mma a wrestling system

    Had a pushing hand drill before with a practitioner, it was way more interesting experience than this (we combined it with light/point striking, too)

      Who needs to hone in? Where are the good clips of people doing a bunny hop? There is no baseline for comparison. What's next - positive videos of people claiming they are master ice skaters who have their skates on backwards?
