Is there anyway you can make a video about how to dispense and refill? I am just having hard time to understand how do we dispense on inhalers and insulin medications. I am one of the PA student, I checked lots of resources but for some reason there is no resource that is explaining how and based and what to dispense inhalers. Thank you
I just have one question the calculations that you did with the prescription is that the calculations you do when you get a prescription at the pharmacy and, do it on the computer?
Hello Maxstirner242, do you mean urine sliding scale? Blood glucose is a much more accurate means of measuring blood sugar than using urine levels, is that still in practice anywhere? I could imagine the calculations would be the same based on the sugar levels measured in the urine.
Hello @Niloufar - in terms of the Albuterol Inhalers (ProAir, Proventil, or Ventolin HFA), they are beta (II) agonists', "rescue inhalers". One inhaler (200 actuations) per month is the max dose a patient can use; however, the patient may not go through an inhaler in one month. If the patient is using more than one albuterol inhaler per month, they are not being controlled and maintenance inhalers need to be evaluated. Does that help?
Hello Suzanne, sorry for my delayed response but was out of the country. Tujeo doses the same as Lantus (one is just more concentrated) and instead of having just 100units/ml there are 300units/mL. The Lantus pen has 3mL today (rendering a total of 300 units of insulin/pen) and the Toujeo has 1.5mL (rendering 450 units of insulin/pen). But I'll do a Victoza one for you :)
Very good analysis
Very helpful thank you

How do you know you will need 3 inhalers in the first place?
