Second thing I’d say, is that if you’ve got to the stage where the dog is a year and half without mastering recall - you’ve not missed your chance BUT you might be a bit stuck in your ways. It would be useful to know what you do, how often your dog is off the lead and how you manage the situation. What works, what doesn’t work etc. Recall isn’t easy. It’s not a quick fix or a trick. It’s a bond. It’s about trust and relationship building. Just because you are the dogs owner doesn’t mean you have a “great” relationship when it comes to being outside. Of course your dog would pick you in a room full of strangers - but outside there is more to experience. Give the video a watch and make notes about what you’ve done so far, what you could do more of, and what you haven’t tried… then let’s talk again. Happy to help ☺️ Steven 💙🧡❤️

Hi Ken, Sadly, we’ve lost (only because they moved house) several dogs from the small team this year. I think we’ve lost Elsa, Tosca, Rua, and in due course little Ted is moving on too. So we’ve been on a recruitment drive to backfill some of the slots in the pack. Edith seems to have taken to the process well and moving along without any issues. Chip is a little bit behind Edith in progress but today noticed a few things that he is really good at! Once I get his confidence up a little, he’ll be unstoppable!!! Both great additions to the team. No more in pipeline as we speak but that’s why I’m pleading with viewers for a bit of support on the channel - to help new clients know their dog would be in safe hands ☺️☺️☺️☺️ Hope you’re well 💙🧡❤️

I’m laughing a bit but I’m also not laughing 😢. Your analogy is perfect up to the point I question if the dogs only tolerate me because I’m the only one who can drive the van!!! From what we see over here, it’s a very intense set of politics and I’m never going to win support over my views of it all, so I’ll just say this…. Scotland is VERY welcoming ☺️ Interestingly, the first place that sprang to mind when you say the name Morgan isn’t Scotland - for me it makes me think of Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. I wonder if there’s some Welsh blood in your lineage too?! I’m fascinated by these things. There’s a show on the tv here that has celebs do their bloodline. It’s mostly dull but occasionally you get a real interesting or exciting bloodline. The dogs were in fine form today - really glad you caught us. Keep your pack tight 💙🧡❤️

Hi there. Don’t take this the wrong way but this is tough! This is a huge question to answer without knowing anything about you, the dog or your circumstances. Might I suggest you follow the channel and have a search for “Border Terrier” on the channel. We’ve at least 3 or 4 videos dedicated to the breed - which will be a good starting point. In addition, I would definitely recommend “crate training” from day one. I don’t have a video on this but there are many on this topic. Please don’t hesitate to comment on any other videos and maybe provide a few more specifics when you get the dog. Wishing you the best of luck. It’s an amazing journey ahead. Very exciting 💙🧡❤️

Hi. Thanks for watching and asking a great question. Sorry I missed this when you posted it. I use different leads for different purposes. Mostly I don’t use leads at all. But when I do, it’s slip leads from Amazon. They are basic. But I’ll stress that these are not suitable if you’re dog isn’t trained to walk to heel - they can put stress on your dogs body. So please be careful. In addition I use long lines - which are again from Amazon and I think 10m long. They are great for perfecting your training - probably cost around £10-15 ($15-20). They clip to your dogs standard collar and a very durable and weather resistant! Good luck with your journey with your dog. Please let us know how you’re doing Steven and the pack 💙🧡❤️
