How we started with the barndominium idea?!?
Cue the anti spray foam drones.
🎉🎉
What vapor barrier did you use? Where did you purchase?
It’s a 1/4 inch small cell foam between aluminum foil. I purchased this from Ameribuilt Structures same company with the metal building. I will try and get the name of the stuff for u
I have a recreational property in the panhandle of FL and I’m looking to build a similar structure. I’m glad I found your channel.
Thank you for watching
I Love Ponte de Lima
Kenny and Cindy - how did your barndo handle Hurrican Milton?
Like a champ! No issues whatsoever! Thank you for asking!
@@BarndominiumNewbiesSo glad to hear that! I'm thinking of reaching out to Keegan Green for a barndo quote. Do you still recommend him?
Yes but make sure you request his crew to build your building not his sub contractors.
Great video!
Thanks!
Vivo Portugal, Kralhu.
Oldest town is Braga, Ponte de Lima is a Village ;)
Braga is a city. Ponte de Lime is a township (Conselho) vila=town, Aldeia= village
@@BarndominiumNewbies Ponte de Lima is a Vila = Village. (try translate) In portuguese way as locations are cataloged in Portugal. It could also be a semantic issue for a lot of people....
You know that thing about "Portugal's oldest town" is just a stunt, right? They don't mean they're the oldest locality in Portugal, they're just playing with words: many older places (like Braga, Guimarães, etc.) have had their status "upgraded" from "vila" (town) to "cidade" ("city"); because Ponte de Lima refuses to have its status changed, they remain a "vila", making them, technically, the oldest "vila" in Portugal. Usually, a "vila" wants to be upgraded to "cidade", but Ponte de Lima is one exception, but it's not the only one: Cascais, Sintra, and Oeiras, all in the Lisbon area, are adamantly "vilas" in spite of the fact that they meet all the criteria to be upgraded to "cidade".
Thank you for watching
What company in Orlando did you get this tile from?
Rilco Tile

I’m in Florida I want one built I need your help
Let me know what u need. We will try and answer any questions u have
Wow I’m definitely saving for mine I have the land already, housing companies wanted to charge 400k for cookie cutter homes with 1500sq ft.
We will be around that mark with 2600sqf living and a 1200sqf shop
Thanks for getting to the point.
Thank you for watching!
Can any of these spray foams be used on car's noise cancelation? How's the sound proofing ability 😮😊 just curious about the possibility as it looks pretty light.
I’m not really sure about using this material on a car as it is designed to be sprayed on a fixed structure. Have you googled it? I’m almost sure you are not the only one that has wondered that.
Who helped you get all that wood?
You did buddy!
Do you see the design flaw that will possibly cause you extreme trouble down the road?? Ok, here’s your Problem brother. Now, this overall job looks beautiful and you did a great job installing it but what’s gonna happen 5 years down the road or maybe 10 when there happens to be a hail storm or tornado with flying debris that hits the side of the house, etc and you end up with a bunch of damaged siding pieces and how are you gonna change out the damaged siding? You have now concealed 1/3 of each sheets siding fasteners and you have the stone panels glued to the siding so it can’t easily be pulled off to remove the fasteners to change out the siding. If you know your gonna do this type of faux stone over the top of your steel siding guys then make things easy on yourselves and for owners and contractors down the road and cut your steel siding for behind the faux stone and install it then install the remainder of the panel above it. This way you will always be able to install or change out the siding sections above the stone easily without having to touch the stone panels. Sorry guys!!! I’m not trying to be negative about anything and it looks gorgeous but you’ve gotta think and plan for future plans when your building the initial structure and by using a two piece siding, it will eliminate this issue completely!! Good luck guys, be safe out there!!
I see your point about changing panels and you are 100% correct. The reason why we did it this way is because the stone front was an after thought and we did not want to cut the siding. Thank you for watching and commenting
Another great video. I watch wolf steel buildings in Texas. They build many steel buildings and want to start barndos. They should have you on.
Thank you Lance!
Hi! Did you decide not to use spray foam insulation? Interested to know your thoughts. Thanks!
We did indeed go with spray foam insulation. These days I believe it’s the only way to insulate a barndo. We also used fiberglass bat to insulate the interior walls for sound. Here’s a video about the insulation Barndo Spray Foam Insulation! What's the Hype? ua-cam.com/video/1HlhwpBfbbk/v-deo.html
Thanks so much!!! I’m in Lake County so have same weather as you all - concerned about energy efficiency but really interested in residential steel building.
Well the spray foam steel buildings are just as efficient as a regular house. Just make sure you pick the right color since we live down here in Florida the darker the color, the hotter it will be a lot of people are installing black roofs these days and they become really, really hot
RV Barndominium did a 3 part backyard. I liked their low maintenance backyard. Covered area. Water feature and fire pit
I will check it out
Looks good. That’s a lot of concrete. I’m no concrete expert. Have never seen a slab with no rebar or wire. However. I am Not familiar with the concrete fiber.
For a driveway it’s ok to use fiber mesh. It’s basically fiberglass strands in the concrete holding it together as steel mesh would
Can't make up your mind. Do both
Haha yeah… are you buying? Lol
Damn brother you’re doing great. Very proud of you and you’re very clear and open with your listeners . Much appreciated stay safe .
This is very close to my budgeted tasks. Except those 40k fees. Those are crazy. I’m in Texas, don’t think we have those fees. Septic here is also much less, 6-8K.
Wow. What a great video. Can’t believe this don’t have a million views yet.
Thank you Lance, we are a brand new channel so it takes a while for youtube to push our videos
Nice and informative video. Cost and R value versus standard fiberglass? Ive seen it can greatly reduce the tonnage need in hvac system.
I got a really great deal from Cornerstone. Before the foam we ran a R11 vapor barrier (aluminum foil with closed cell foam sandwiched in the middle). So with 3.5” on the walls and 5.5 in the ceiling running R33 in the walls and close to R39 in the ceiling! The cost was 8k which is maybe 1500-2000k above fiberglass.
Also with 2600 sqf of living we will be using a 4ton 16 seer for both floors
Today hight temp was 87. Drywall installers spend all day in the barndo with the doors and windows closed! I walked in and it was comfortable and cool. This stuff is great!
@@BarndominiumNewbies Thank you. I enjoy the progress. Plan on doing the same here in Texas in next year or two. I think I estimated drywall at 9000. 1800 sq ft. I had spray foam at 10k.
Hey brother your doing a great job . Besides building your own home the way you explain everything to your viewers. Your an open book. Keep up the good work
Sounds good. I’m trying to get an idea. I’m in Texas and can get shell built with windows for 125k. Trying to budget framing, plumbing, spray foam, electric, hvac and septic. I’m figuring framing 25k. Plumbing 12k. Spray foam 12k. Electrical 12k. HVAC- 2.5 ton. 10k. Septic 6-7k. Sheetrock and paint. 14k. Kitchen cabinets 30 Linear ft. 9k. Island 6k Quarts counters 12k. Etc. I’m at 290k estimate. 1850 sq ft. Retirement crib.
I enjoy your videos and your explanations. Most people don’t go this in-depth. Particularly with money. I’m about 2 years out from trying to do this on my own. So you’re at 71k building. 36k installation. I would guess 5-6k for doors and windows. Was foundation included? Rough Plumbing? Framing cost? Will you spray foam? I think that’s probably 10-12k.
Thank you! I will look into all the prices and get back to you!
@lancehunter386 Thank you for your comment you just gave me an idea for a video about what I have spent so far! will get working on it ASAP.
I will be working on this video soon!
How recent was this? Just curious, mainly for the llamas. Haven't seen them around in videos lately. We've been going since 2020 and saw them grow up a bit. Always keep an eye out for new videos.
Good morning, this video was recorded on 4/13/2024. I did speak to one of the petting zoo keepers about the llama. Well unfortunately she told me the llama passed away and now they only have two alpacas. Thank you for checking out our video!
