Camgander is looking at your kit, how you set it up, why it works or why it doesn't.
Is your budget large or small? What camera are you using and why did you light something the way you did?
No right or wrong. Just looking at different ways you make content.

Dan Martland's Ronin S setup
Here is a setup of a Ronin S with DJI Switch Grip Dual Handle. It uses the popular nato rail to adjust the handles. Dan has this setup with the Sony A7sII, Sony 18mm Batis lens and SmallHD 702 monitor attached with a woodencamera ultra arm.
The setup is lightweight and compact, perfect for working fast and when time is against you.

RED RAVEN SHOULDER MOUNT
Переглядів 3285 років тому
Here's a video showing my shoulder rig for my RED Raven. It's a good lightweight setup for this camera as it's light. But if the camera was any heavier I would need a stronger set up and wouldn't recommend this version of the smallrig dual handle kit. The should rig can also flip towards the camera which is really useful for using the RED with an Easyrig or similar as the handles are in an ergo...

5 LED Light setup in peli case

This is what Camgander is about. Kit set up’s that work and can inspire & help others. Each job has different shooting requirements and different setups. Time is often against us luckily kit is getting smaller and also easier to pack. But still needs to be set up. That takes time. This is why I like what Dan has done here. Packed into a Pelican 1560 he has; 5 lights in total - 3 of which are fr...

Aputure Amaran AL-MX

The new Aputure Amaran AL-MX a great little light to have in your kit. The bright new face of the aputure family, bi-colour and with 128 LED's outputting 3200 LUX. Small portable and hard not to justify?
Nila Zaila packed in a Pelican air 1535
Переглядів 2096 років тому
Nila Zaila LED being packed into a pelican air 1535 case with trekpak inserts. I chose the 1535 over the 1510 as it's a little lighter and roomier. It fits the Zaila well, It has room for an extra stand or reflector stand and extra batteries etc. So far so good. See other videos and articles at www.camgander.com Audio from bensound.com

Great video, been looking for someone to demonstrate the quality of these grids! Thanks
What about the handle? Does the bag accommodate that?
Do have a link for the hdmi cable and the monitor mount ?
Like it. I use an old Lastolite frame but its way to big and clunky. I might take a look at this.
Hi Would you recommend this after a few years of use or did you buy the Chimera set-up cos this wasn't cutting it?
Yes would still recommend. It creates a big surface and is still compact. It's a good addition to the LED.
Can't find that set up anywhere on the net?
It's a chimera 4x4 scrim and the eggcrate is from snapgrid. The eggcrate is actually too big for the frame as this frame is just under 4x4 as it's for travel. A recommended setup!
how do you get the low shots with the focus on?
Can u invert the handles like the ronin m ?
More videos on that grid and different ways to use in interviews!👍🏾... Nice set up.
This is a very underrated video! Thanks for sharing. Do you have any updates for this year?
Alex Penrose not really. I have swapped out the handle and cheese plate. (Wooden camera) - (Removable and lower profile) Added some color cards and use my second camera less. I will send some more videos soon! Thanks for your comments!
H Hogan Wonderful! I just upgraded to a FS7 from an FS5. All of the videos on your channel are super great. Do you have a contact where I could ask a few questions?
Mounting the camera with a cage on it is adding unnecessary weight.
The Filmmaking Channel you are correct. But with fast paced shoots. It does save time to keep the cage on the camera. As when it’s off the gimbal you can throw on a monitor easily. Nothing is ever perfect.
concider not having your cam on automode...
Is this the medium or large Camrade HD bag?
Scott Larson. It’s the Large. It’s a big camera set up and the bag is quite big. Struggles to fit through doorways. But fits everything you need.
Cool thanks. Does it fit with the arm attached?@@camgander5036
Scott Larson yes fits fully assembled! 👍🏽
As Joseph noted you don't have camera control from the Zhiyun (which is an awesome feature). When I connect the cable & get camera control, all good. But then if I connect a 2nd cable to the Focus monitor the image on the Focus monitor blacks out. Does anyone have a workaround? Thx.
How have you got everything plugged in? I have the exact same setup, incl cage and everything, but I can’t plug my smallhd and the zhiyun crane both into the a7sii at the same time?
Have you tested it to see how long the battery last at full power??
I think the boost mode only last's 60 seconds at a time. I haven't use boost repetitively... Have you had a chance to see?
Liking this little light....i picked up the new F7 today....looking forward to using it....nice review btw
You have no camera control. The cam is not even plugged in to the gimbal control port. You can see the image on the monitor but there is not even Rec Start/Stop control enabled without connecting the camera to the gimbal. Not your fault. This is because the Sony control cable from Zhiyun covers the HDMI port...rookie design flaw Zhiyun!!!
if you had the sony camera w/ the battery pack on could you still use the follow focus? thx and nice video
patricklandond1 It would sit a lot higher so unsure if it would be suitable. The camera can be powered from the gimbal battery so that’s another option instead of the cameras battery pack.
Love the setup! Just received the external follow focus as well as an external monitor. Wondering how you simultaneously have the micro hdmi cable and the follow focus multi cable plugged in at the same time? The cable I received with the follow focus completely blocks the micro hdmi port for the monitor. Thanks!
Hi, have you figured it out? I am having the same issue, when I hit REC, the external monitor goes black...
Loved the little bit of swearing ....you are a breath of fresh air, unlike most to the helpful but slightly dull videos!
Can you please write all components you used there to make the magic happen? :) I've seen in another video that there are differences between cables, for example .. like, Canon USB cable ... Thanks!
As you know with the crane 2, the focus dial doesn't play nice with Sony cameras. So Zhiyun-Tech have brought out an additional product called Focus Motor for Crane 2 which works the crane 2, It sells for $120. Comes with all components needed to mount to the crane 2. They also supply lens gears to attach to your lenses. a well worthy upgrade. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1389924-REG/zhiyun_tech_gmb_c525_servo_follow_focus_mechanical.html
Just ordered the External Follow focus...I hope it works with my Fujifilm lenses...
It will work with any lens setup. Zhiyun provide a couple of universal lens gears in the kit which are adjustable and reusable. Just make sure you update the firmware in the crane 2 otherwise it won't talk to the follow focus system. This took me about 2 hours to figure out
Good job man. What is the weight this setup ?
Nice setup. What’s the secondary grip you are using to mount the monitor?
This is what i use, SIMPLY GIMBAL FMJ Handheld Gimbal Adapter. It sandwiches between the handle and tripod mount very nicely. Great for adding monitors, mics etc. www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1392112-REG/simply_gimbal_fmj_1_fmj_handheld_gimbal_adaptor.html/pageID/accessory
