    hello doc I'm not sure if you're gonna respond in time I'm a dentist (passed CFA level 1) and got accepted into a master's degree in finance program I need to either (get 550+ in the Gmat, or 150+ in the EA) in order to apply for a scholarship I'd like to ask you what you think is more doable? since my time is very limited I need to submit it before August the first

      The question styles and difficulty between the EA and GMAT is typically similar. The EA is a shorter exam. I would probably go with the EA.

    Thank you so much for your video! Really helpful! I am planning to take the EA within the month and feeling swamped with the TTP GMAT course which I’ve purchased. Any pointers of how to wade through the TTP content? Which official GMAC options did you use?

      Thanks for comment. I used Magoosh for primary learning and TTP as a test bank. I think the TTP learning modules are good, but too detailed.

    What a profoundly insightful video Dr. Tomihama, I would like to know how does the EMBA program with healthcare specialisation of Baylor University Dallas campus stands out? I'm an international medical graduate with an M.D and would like to enter into healthcare management as opposed to the traditional match and residency process. Thanks.

    Hi, can you please advise on how to study and make an EA plan from Magoosh GMAT course? thank you!

      I recommend taking one of the official practice EA tests first to figure out your strengths and weaknesses. Then I would start with those sections on Magoosh first.

    Thanks for the video! I’m applying at Wharton eMBA as well, do you remember what’s their cutoff for the EA test score? I didn’t see it mentioned on their website. Also, any tips on which part of the admissions process to focus on most? Thanks!

    • @roger_tomihama_m.d.
      @roger_tomihama_m.d. Рік тому

      Regarding EA cutoff, I don’t think they have a hard level. I believe the normal distribution of scores is something like 152 to 162? I could be wrong, but that info should be on the website. I think if you have a very strong application, it will compensate for a lower score. Conversely, a very good score will compensate for a less strong application. Best tip for admission is to have keep an open dialogue with the admissions directors. They will try to guide you as much as possible in sharpening your application as much as possible. Since you are looking at Wharton, you are likely already a very strong candidate. I think the biggest challenge with admissions process has nothing to do with the individual or their record, it likely is just a reflection of that year’s number of stellar candidates that are aiming for the same number of slots. Also, assuming you are an MD, I think it may depend how many MDs they will be willing to allocate for that particular year.

      @@roger_tomihama_m.d. Thank you so much for the detailed reply! Very helpful. Do you mind sharing the other two schools in your top three? I don't have backup plan - not many top tier schools offer eMBAs.

      I applied to only CA programs. Per the MBA websites, the best EMBA programs are likely Wharton, Chicago, Northwestern, Columbia, Michigan, Berkeley. Stanford and Harvard have pseudo MBA programs called Msx and Masters in management. I have a video that goes over selecting programs. See if this helps. ua-cam.com/video/5GsLjP3zdmY/v-deo.html

    Dr Tomihama, how is your program going thus far? I am full-time pulmonologist in Florida, father of two, and exercise 5 times a week (sport to me is essential), and currently the director of our department, basically every minute counts. I am really interested in improving my business and administrative skills. I am thinking of Miami university program, my only concern is would I really have time to study, read and eventually graduate? What do you think based on your experience?

    • @roger_tomihama_m.d.
      @roger_tomihama_m.d. Рік тому

      Mustafa, thank you for reaching out. I would say I put in about 20 hours/week (likely school dependent). There are a couple of issues to consider regarding the study time. If you already have a business background (accounting, econ, finance), then the studying time would be much less than for someone who had no background (like me). Also, most of us seem to realize that we become extremely efficient in squeezing studying time into idle time during your work week (i.e. audio books during commute, during lunch hour, etc).

    Hi Dr. Tomihama, thanks for the helpful video! I am a practicing physician and also considering Wharton’s emba program. I’m very motivated to learn and work hard but have concerns about managing the workload on top of my 60-hour work week (I’ve read that the wemba course load is identical to the full time course load). Has it been pretty manageable so far? How many hours per week (per day?) are you studying or doing homework? Thanks for your time.

    • @roger_tomihama_m.d.
      @roger_tomihama_m.d. 2 роки тому

      Hi s C, Since we have only begun classes in May, I only have 2 months of experience. But I would say that it is about 20 hours/week. It has been manageable. It just forces you to be very efficient with time management. I read/listen/study anytime I have some down time. Between cases at work, during my commute, after kids go to bed. But, so far, it has been totally worth it.
