The Borealis classic has two medium-sized compartments. The Borealis classic's main compartment in the middle is very tight - especially when the outer pocket is full. This makes it difficult to remove larger items from the bottom of the main compartment. The bottom of the Classic model is very shallow . Lunchbox with the width of 10-12 cm does not fit the bottom of the backpack in the horizontal position . Of all the 27-31l North Face backpacks I tested , the classic model has the worst designed main compartment . It is cramped and shallow at the base. It is not suitable for carrying large items . I will always choose the backpack that has a deeper main compartment than two medium ones of comparable capacity . On many forums most people complain precisely about the main compartment borealis classic. I bought the fjallraven skule 28 l
