Our first two cruises were on Glory in 2111 and 2112. One of our favorite ships.
Well Dan, you’ve had some lovely drives and some fun on the race track with your awesome Cobra. So I have ask the question, what is it like to drive a Cobra and does it meet your expectations?
@@ciaranlowe5547 well I guess one word that would sum it all up my friend would be simply FUN. From the major amount of attention from men, women & children. It always draws a crowd no matter where we go. Always have pictures & videos taken while driving or parked. It’s got a ton of power when ya want it & it constantly reminds you how powerful she is even at idle. I built this car with the idea I was going to baby her but I’m going to play with her. So ya she exceeded my expectations & the heater I put in is really not needed the engine heat will keep ya warm. The Bluetooth stereo comes in handy. People said I wouldn’t hear it. Ya it sounds great, kinda like a boat stereo sound but it’s really cool to blast some AC-DC while rolling.
@ Ha Ha love it ! It’s sure does look like fun. I can’t wait to get mine on the road. Keep her lit and keep the rubber on the road 👍
You got it brother can’t wait to see ya out there😁👍
Just started my build. Enjoying watching yours just before I tackle that step. Is there a video 22?
@@Jam76958 hey thanks for watching & congrats on starting your fun, frustrating at times but all rewarding experiences. Ya video #22 is steering & Suspension assembly. If ya have any questions at all you can comment them. Don’t listen to people that tell ya not to add a stereo or some music it works great, yes the car is loud but it’s nice to have the tunes. Vents in the foot boxes is something I sorta regret not doing. Depending on your location I don’t think I’d recommend the heater. The engine runs a ton of heat in those foot boxes. Enjoy & good luck
@@dansgarage2010 Thanks for the tips! I didn't see #22 in the list so that's why I asked. I'll check again. Stereo and vents are something I'll keep in mind.

Excellent video - I run mid 11s to mid 14s depending on the launch! 😂 (347ci/3.55/5-link/Nitto NT05)
@@BradThePitts thanks & thanks for watching. You’re right depending on the launch, I’m running Nitto NT555 R2/ 3.55 gear/ 3link/ with a 427 Windsor. If I calm down & start shifting smoothly & work on my reaction time I bet I can get to the 10s.
Is that a mason symbol on your tool wall. Just curious. 😊

The car turned out great. I'm very happy for you, and that color looks fantastic on it.

You should have a lot more in it. My 68 Mustang at 3250 lbs runs 10.80's with a 427 W. I run low 9's on a little N2O... Street driven, DOT legal tires.
@@guywillis1594 Oh I know she’s got the power it’s just me getting better at driving it & her getting traction. Thanks for watching.
What's the motor specs? I am building a stroker 427w for a 67 fastback. 👍

@@JohnQuePublic903 you got that right brother I was a little afraid of taking my car that took me a year & half to build apart in seconds on the track.
Third pedal giving this guy problems.
I guess so think my shifts were faster than my left foot.😂
I would love to build one but with a newer drive train from a ZL1 Camaro with the 10 speed auto.
@@BulletSpoung that sounds fun, the chassis’s that Factory 5 produces will accept fords Coyote engines. There was a guy with another Cobra there that night also with a 427 but with twin turbos he was set up for all drag racing & got 8 seconds every pass. Thanks for watching.
Slowest cobra ever.
@@JerryM-p2v lots of fun though
Spanked by street cars...
It's not as easy as people think, you don't thrash a car first time out especially a car that nice
@@glennmiller2494 thanks that’s true. I only have 3,000 miles on it. Besides I didn’t build a drag race cobra, this is for fun & open road races.
You could leave on time, and he missed 2nd.. How TF do you miss 2nd?
@ 😂 I know right. This was my 1st & second time at a drag strip with a car I just built for open road racing not drags my reaction times were horrible & I kept shifting too early & was really afraid of spinning out into the wall. Hooking up was not easy I was fishtailing in 1st & 2nd.
@@dansgarage2010As a novice at the drag strip, and with a manual trans Mustang, I immediately realized how difficult mastering this motorsport must be, especially trying to achieve consistency and that most important low 60ft time. Looks easy from sitting in the stands though.
Very true it takes some practice.
What heads are on the motor? With the specs you listed I would expect easily over 130mph in a car that weighs what? 2700? Something does not add up...still a great car though, congrats.
I got 11.8 best time for the night. This was my first time out on a legal race track so the problem was most definitely me. 2300lbs. The heads were an ebay set aluminum heads that I flowtested & ported etc etc check out my video on me building the engine. Thanks for watching.

I just finished up with install of the LS style fuel filter/regulator. Did you run a return line from the throttle body or is the short return from the filter enough?
I had a return line that ran into the tank.
From the LS style filter/Regulator
Ok, I’m there. So you ran one fuel to the sniper and no return from the front on the motor. Thanks. Sorry for all the questions

Hey Dan with the Holley Sniper EFI where did you connect the switched 12 volt source to on the Ron Francis kit? I’m changing from carbureted to Holley Sniper 2
@@THA2ND hey brother, I believe I used the RF fuel wire from the Sniper relay. I’ll check my schematic & let ya know.
Great troubleshooting and information video Dan. I'm on the fence about FI, I want it, but what brand and do I want to deal with these issues? I've been following a few builds, some OEM FI, Holley Sniper, carbureted... I want a bit of a lumpy idle but streetable, not worried about horsepower, any will be enough. I took a stab at the Holley Pro-jection back in the 90's and failed miserably. It was an open loop system, and I could not get it to idle well, or get off the line. After a year of messing, I threw a trusty Holley 4bbl on it and never looked back. Gleaning all i can from guys like you in these builds, keep up the great work!
@@markhoward3851 thanks & thanks for watching. I was going to go with the Edelbrock EFI system but at the last hour decided to go with the set up that looked more period correct with the Holley Sniper Stealth. I will say that if you have a new engine and your building your car as long as you have Fuel, air/exhaust & trimming right in my experience now…Holley Sniper system is great. Their customer service is second to none. They would not let me go till we figured my issue out, they were relentless. As far as the lumpy idol just choose a lil more of a radical cam and the sniper system will start up with it & you can fine tune it or call tech support 8am-430pm M-Friday & they will walk you through it. Whatever you choose let me know how it goes, post some videos 😃👍

Im getting ready to paint one of these for a guy now. Body has been done by someone else. Just need to get the doors set flush with the body and the hood set. Other than that am blocking the body and getting ready to hopefully get it down to my booth and have primer on it which I will then block, spray red sealer, then his red metallic paint, clear it with high solids euro clear. Then flow coat it a couple days later with 3 more coats of euro clear. Then cut and buff to a glass, show car finish. Then the mechanical work will be done by someone else.

@@BanginGearsGarage thanks for watching, I had a friend of mine weld the headers up for me and so far so good. No cracks as of yet on the headers or the side pipes but I have tightened the side pipes since & changed out FFRs rubber bushings that had the 1/4-20 bolt fused in with some 1.5” thick rubber bushings & a 3.5 or 4” long button head bolt from the inside of the cockpit to the outer underside & through the bracket & so far no cracks etc. 2400 miles so far but later in the season I will be swapping out the headers & pipes w/ the GasN pipes.
