This is so beautiful. It has the same style as Nowhere, but a bit spacier. Even though it was released halfway between Nowhere and Going Blank Again, it definitely still has their early sound. Nevermind, which greatly influenced Going Blank Again, had not blown up yet.

i remember listening to this in 2021, 2am, shut in my room, i had the most psychadelic experience just zoning out to my slightly blue and purple lamp. it was amazing, my air conditioner was cold too. house was silent, pitch black window, it truly felt like ive left who i was behind and im enjoying a moment of renewal

Beautiful music. All of their albums are amazing. Can't wait to see them in concert next year. I love the fact that they are being rediscovered by a new generation of fans whilst still making great music. Their influence on modern shoegaze/dreampop revival bands like DIIV, Wild Nothing, etc. cannot be overstated.

I used to say in my golden years that this EP was the best record ever released on the face of earth, shadowing beatles smiths velvet underground and whatever etc., most to irritate my indie friends, but i genuinely really loved these songs and played them on repeat for hours.. till this day i feel there's something powerful, intense and naive at the same time in these Ride Sogs. But of course you can say maybe it's pure nostalgia from my late-teen years

I loved Ride from day one until they veered off towards brit pop. Got this EP on release. Still have it. Still play it.

Frankly, their best material. Slowdive, Morningrise, and Holding Our Breath EPs. They were right in wanting to prioritize this over Just For a Day.

Of all the bands I met when I worked at KUCR Andy Bell of Ride was the one of the most humble and down to earth. John Squire and Many from the Stone Roses where right their with him!!

This is an incredible 4 track e.p. I can't wait to see them next week in S.F. and Hollywood. Spent half my vacation time this year just for these shows.

I do still continue to wander about the track title "Avalyn 1". The similarity to the name "Avalon" is striking. Avalon is the Blessed Isle of the Dead in British / Celtic mythology, some say to be identified with a hidden realm in the vicinity of the town of Glastonbury in Somerset. Does anyone know what Avalyn could mean otherwise?
