This is really nicely done. Thank you.
The 15 cents of Champlain departure is my preferate one
Very interesting and informative, thanks Paul. I recently purchased my 1st Penny Black (fairly common Pl.6 with a Coventry Red MX and 4 good margins ). Starting to read through the Stanley Gibbons Queen Victoria Volume 1 Part 1 catalogue which is very detailed. Just need to persuade the wife to buy some more Victorian stamps some time!
Sounds like a nice 1d Black. There's something about those red MX cancellations on the black engraving that is so irresistible! If you're interested in the 1d Reds, there's a brand new book just come out called "Imperforate Penny Reds. A Guide to Collecting, Plating and Valuing the Imperforate Penny Red Stamps." by Daniel Matthews. It's available online at £25 in the UK. Dan really knows his stuff and I hear the book is excellent!
@@psarj Thanks for the recommendation!
The content on your UA-cam channel is truly engaging; it’s a fantastic watch. However, some parts of your channel will need updating. Enhancing SEO for your channel videos will increase their exposure. Titles, descriptions, and keywords should be optimised for better search performance, which can drive more views. Social media marketing across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn will further extend your reach, offering additional benefits for your business. If you’d allow it, I’d love to share what I’ve learned with you.
prices are ridiculous..12 $ a month..bye
I would imagine with his skills he had the correct paperwork to get out of Poland. Or any country for that matter.
I appreciate NTSC presenting this but it was painful that the website referenced and this presentation are of such low resolution. I guess I have no choice but to collect all 1500+ of these stamps lol
I watched the entire presentation on my IPad and the resolution was superb! I have not checked the website.
Great presentation Klause! A Polish person taught me the pronunciation of his name: 'Chesswaa Swaania" You are correct , the" Ł" is close to the English "W"
What a treat to watch your presentation on Slania. For hours on end I studied all the details of his engravings and I'm moved by the beauty and artistry he created. Thanks for your posting!
Great video. Would it be possible to have the presentation used? Many thanks.
I'm very glad you enjoyed the video. Unfortunately the presentation itself cannot be shared.
@@psarj Hi, makes sense. I recently rediscovered the pleasure of stamps, and being in the UK but not from the UK I'm quite fascinated with the early stamps. Looking to build my knowledge around it. Thanks.
@@emanuelsousa8634 As I mentioned in the video, the Great Britain Philatelic Society (GBPS) is a great resource. Their website is a rich source of information, much of it available to non-members.
I have them want to sell
Amazing presentation. Thank you!
I have a red George Washington 2 cent stamp for sale
Detailed look at one of the most beautiful stamps. Thankyou.
In Colnect Sn technically means Stamp Number and not Scott number. I suspect this was to avoid trademark claims on using Scott trademnark.
Excellent presentation ! Well done Questions for the certificate experts : At 49.20hrs on the video, Philatelic Foundation certificate 1985, I don’t see the broken edge line above ‘G’, dated May 22 ( 1884/5/6), definitely it was not the same old chop. In my opinion, it looks like fake ! Turning to RPS certificate 1977, the ‘B’ ,at the bottom, as you rightly pointed out , it was not straight flat as per sample at 30.31hr but round or bulge out ! Why ? unless it was ‘cranked’ issue , all stamps must be cranked, otherwise, it is another fake stamp. So much for the certificate experts to think about ! Very annoyed now !
I collect the GB 1d Plates (letters in all 4 corners - visible plate numbers in the enginework at the sides) but only used in Ireland! Been doing this for 20+ years, less than 10 plates to go...
You did an”extreme philately”segment! Fantastic!
Excellent presentation. More like this 👍😉
Thank you for a very interesting and engaging presentation, Allan. I learned a lot about Finland and Finnish stamps and will look with different eyes at both.
Wonderful presentation, Allan, on a country perhaps not well known by most collectors! I think Finland is not a Scandinavian country, but IS a Nordic country, similar to Iceland.
Just started my Finnish stamp collection this past year...having a penpal from Finland named Hanna since 1979. Have made one trip to this beautiful country, and just mounted my first couple of MNH stamps I picked up at the March Party in Strongsville, Ohio a couple of weeks ago. I am in Kiel, Wisconsin.
Very good I hope you do more thanks.
This is truly dreadful. What on earth is the point of including an interview with sound quality like this? Early Canada is my collecting area … but I’m damned if I am going to struggle through this.
I had listened to this rebroadcast of this NTSC Zoom meeting on both my laptop and casting it to my tv. I did not perceive of any sound issues so I didn't have any struggles.,
Thank you so much NTSC, Gene and Jean! This was VERY useful to me. I have used Colnect a little bit, but this presentation caused my knowledge of it a large leap. I will definitely use it more in future, and most likely also do my inventory with it. I am still a relative beginner stamp collector.
do you know who is the MUSIC on COLNECT admin?
What's a "catalgoue" Spell checker needed!
Great presentation. It's nice to hear Gene's voice. :) And the show and tell format with Jen's walkthroughs works very well. I use Colnect a little bit and this demo really helped me find new ways to search and traverse the catalogues. Thanks for sharing!
Glad it was useful!
I am glad I found Stamp Auction Network. I started a world collection and everyone at our local stamp club thinks I bumped my head. I have ben buying up whole collections and theirs no telling what I have. If I have never seen it I keep it. Thank you Thomas for making this video.
Fascinating. David’s focused interest is really something to be valued.
As a Canadian collector, I thank you for this very illuminating presentation.
Thank you my friend nice
Una pregunta , tengo algunos penny red pero en algunos no se les encuentra el numero de platte , porque ? Hay algunos sin numero ? Gracias
In the presentation it is explained that only the penny red stamps printed from 1864 through 1879 had plate numbers engraved in the borders. They also had letters in all four corners. All of the earlier penny stamps had no plate numbers on them, and had stars in the upper corners. The plate numbers of these earlier stamps can be determined using other methods.
@@psarj others metods ? Cual seria , muchas gracias por su pronta respuesta , mi ingles lo tengo que mejorar , gracias , y otros metodos ? Entonces quiere decir que en realidad todos tienen numero de placa?
@@JesusJimenez-tt5gt The other methods involve examining the characteristics of the stamp, such as the positions of the corner check letters. This is a complicated area that requires having access to the correct resources (books and images). I might do a presentation about it next year.
@@psarj thank you very much
Very interesting presentation. Many thanks.
Great presentation.
Awesome deep insight, What a deep insight. Thanks
Bravo!
Thanks Andrew!
My head is singing with all the new information of which I knew nothing, including some of the history of Hong Kong. Thank you NTSC and Ingo. I just started collecting, so to realize the specialization that can exist in philately is an eye opener.
A very good sharing by Ingo on Hong Kong treaty Ports in China. Thank you very much
'Promo SM'
Nice presentation, thanks.
Thanks! Interesting, but also scary. A whole minefield of fakes and forgeries out there! Even more scary if you are a beginner!!!
Thank you. Very interesting. Just as in the “art” world fine forgeries/fakes are passed because there is only ethical objections to passing them along. Rarely a legal consequence. Can also see the fun of hunting them down for a collection.
Really complex - German history and areas through time. As a novice I just glance at the German stamps I come across, but this presentation helped me to start to put it in perspective and order. Thanks!
Unbelievable detail…. Impressive scholarship. Fascinating. You folks have an amazing membership. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊
Thank you for a truly excellent presentation! I have a lot of German stamps and have been so confused by how they all fit together in history, and this has been so helpful to me to understand it all. You have also solved a few mysteries for stamps in my collection, such as the orange French Memel stamps - I have several of these in my collection and they really puzzled me! :)
Great presentation Klaus. Super informative.
Very informative! I know I'll be referring to this video in the future for many things. Thank you.
Das ist goode! This is one of my favorite collections. Very well presented and I learned all kinds of new tidbits to color my German collection when speaking about it. More, please! :)
What language is that?
As a forever novice collector, I have largely avoided German stamps as I have found it overwhelming. This was an excellent presentation that helps to clarify Germany’s postal history. Well done.
