nevada rock hounding mines and quartz crystal find. let's explore
Hey man I live in vegas thanks for the information
I have agate from close to here weighing 50 lbs
Dangggggggg I'd love a Lil pathway in my yard made with a few of them. Solid find
Ewwww ewwww venomous snakes...beautiful quartz
Haha agreed
I like a little of both, it’s all good 👍
This is awesome! Im in nevada as well, so thank you for the tips!!
Thank you hopefully they help
love your tip abt the old timers! -k
Im in Battle Mountain, new to rock hounding. I started beading from stuff i got on WhatNot. They have a tiny lapidary group. Quartz
Very nice lots of awesome things to be found in that area
Thank you. You are safety conscious. That's how.
Thanks man. Cool tips. Maybe you should add to always have plenty of drinking water with you. And be careful of the heat and UV's. One more thing. You could add a plug about respecting the land and nature. Animals live out there. Thank you again. Subscribed.
I'm stoked at finding your rockhounding videos. I just moved near lake lahatan. I'll definitely be exploring around the lake. Thanks Dude 😎
I thought there is no collecting at Lake Lahontan?
That was my understanding too. I'll have to look into that more.
Thanks for the info, good job. The book Gem Trails of Nevada is another decent reference, but needs an update. That's good advice to explore. I know there are some giant cobbles along the northeast shore of Lake Lahontan, but there signs that said no collecting in the park.
New sub 😊
Looks like calcite.
I’m in Fernley ! I want to look for Geoids!!
Super close to me. Those are not super abundant around us, but I have found a few on the fort churchhill side of the river. Only problem at the moment is its flooding over there at moment but when the water goes down a bit will be a solid time to look. Also the black rock desert is not to far and can find some amazing ones around there. 👍
@@nevadaexplorer8399 I’m down to go to Crystal Peak by Verdi. You at least have a side by side. I hate walking with hella stuff. I’ve gone out to the playa and found some arrowheads and stuff, but I mostly are interested in crystals
@@nevadaexplorer8399 I believe I’ve been out at black rock. Found some old 50 caliber casing from World War II. And that wagon hot spring
@foxchick242 ya side by side has been a nice investment for my hounding adventures well all my adventures really 🤣🤣 ya half of the geodes on my shelf came from around the black rock. I honestly walked past and kicked them around for years not knowing what I was looking for but when I figured it out I found them out there. I'm a big fan of crystals myself
If I make it to NV with my SxS, I definitely want to stay overnight in an area like seen at 3:50, should be fantabulous star gazing 🙂
It most definitely is if your ever in nv and Wana camp close to this it's in the mountains in silver springs nv have lahontan State Reservoir for lake and fort churchhill for river amazing stars on clear nights. Reach out if your ever in the area I'd be happy to load up my rig go out and show you around.
@@nevadaexplorer8399 Wow, much appreciate the tour guide offer! Maybe the fall of 2024, depending on personal circumstances.
@Calvin Hobbes most definitely just reach out and we can plan something then always like meeting new like minded people and showing off some cool spots.
Right on 🙌🔥💎
If you haven't done anything with the big one, you might consider slabbing it 💎
I have not and that's definitely a great idea
Thank you for this video! You are so awesome! Hope to see you out there in Nevada some day 😊
Thank you for the kind words and the support I hope so as well. Love meeting like minded rock hounds especially in the home state.
The green mineral on the rocks is epidote! One of my favorites! Message me and I’ll shoot you some info!
Awesome thank you for the info I'll have to do a Lil research thanks again really helps when others can answer questions . Will probably help others later that watch as well appreciate you.
I just retired at 71 years of age and discovered this very addicting hobby. Love your videos❤
Thank you for that. It's funny when I was a kid I hated looking for rocks with my dad now as I'm older I absolutely love it. Thank you for watching
Thanks for sharing ❤
What did you end up doing to the big one?
Its waiting to be cut still probably going to cut it in half then take one half cut it again and tumble part of one. I bought a 7in saw but I'll need something bigger for that one
Hail hydrate!
Don't pan the camera so fast
Good tip thank you
You went a long ways for that. You have some of the coolest stuff there. Have you been to the peacock opal mine?
Not yet but me and a buddy plan to hit it this year when they open back up. I can't wait!!! Have you been?
@@nevadaexplorer8399 not yet. But plan on going this spring my wife is planing a trip to Vegas and all I’m interested in is the rocks and minerals and possible treasures. No interest in going the the city.
@Cody Wilkes haha I'm 100% the same way. I'm definitely excited to go out to the mine for a day or 2 see if I get lucky.
@@nevadaexplorer8399 from what I’ve seen I have a good feeling you will. And I can’t wait to see the video.
Where are you exactly?
This was in silver springs back in the mountains.
@@nevadaexplorer8399 i enjoyed the video
@@katiedid713926 Thank you. I really appreciate that. Thanks for joining and watching. Hopefully, more will come when the weather clears up.
Great job, love your explorations. I'd like to see maps, for a better idea if where you go. I think the red/purple at the mine may be cinnabar,?
I'm in Las Vegas and I am a big rock collector/rockhound whatever and I'm happy to see your channel. I hope you get some more subs bro.
Thank you boss I really appreciate that. The comment alone will help a huge amount. I love collecting so hopefully others will enjoy it as well. Any tips on how I can make things better are always nice as well. Thank you so much for the support.
@@nevadaexplorer8399 All I can suggest is come down south and sniff around come down here to the big city of Las Vegas and find some trilobites or something brotha!!
Right across the highway at the lake some huge finds. ua-cam.com/video/bpeQnQf2gxY/v-deo.html
