Sky Pixel contest entry - After The Winter
A video entry for the 2024 Sky Pixel photo & video contest.
After the Winter
____SUMMARY:
This transition video shows the jump transformation from winter to summer at various locations, including vistas and closeup objects.
____OBJECTIVE:
Show the transition from winter to summer in jump style for various vistas, near landmarks and closeup objects.
____TECHNICAL:
Distant vista shots were repeated utilizing Waypoint Missions. However, due to a lack of positional accuracy of waypoint missions for close-up shots, flight paths were repeated manually using position markers and landmarks along with noted flight modes and velocities. For example, the final shot is the transition of a barn. The accuracy and repeatability of shots over many months was accomplished by placing a stake in the ground for the flight location. The camera view was then directed towards the upper left corner of the barn roof. Upward flight speed was manually held the same between shots by using Tripod mode.
____FORMAT:
Clips were captured using HQ and the HLG transfer function. Final clip assembly and rendering was accomplished using Final Cut Pro, with a rendered file format of MP4, 4K 3840 x 2160, 30fps, Rec. 2020 HLG w/ Dolby.

did you used a LUT for the shots or is this Same as source?
Love the music and vids....thanks from benzonia mi.
What a great experience for you. I love the title, 77 to 7. Thank you, we need more folks like yourself to pass on great hobbies and get these young people off the couch. Take care.
The Pocket 3's HLG files are recognised as Rec2100 in Davinci Resolve, where the Color Space can be transformed correctly and scientifically. D-LogM is a DJI proprietary colour space, the characteristics of which have never been published, so any subsequent color correction is complete guesswork. The DJI-provided LUT for D-LogM works in the inferior Rec709 colour space only. The almost ubiquitous use of D-LogM is a product of UA-cam-inspired groupthink. I get much better results with HLG.
Hello, I don't understand if HLG has the same extended dynamic range as D-Log M. Is it possible to work it well in post production like a Log file? Can I mix some clips shot in HLG with Pocket 3 and some clips shot inn V-Log with my GH6?
@@ExploringWorldUA-camD-Log M doesn't have extended dynamic range, it's essentially like Normal but flat colour profile. HLG actually has high dynamic range. D-Log M is nothing like D-Log
it looks beautiful what kind of laptop do u use for your editing ?
This is something 👍😊👍
