    My '05 has an issue when you bring the seat up it squishes all the wires. I tried to fabricate an extension so the seat is lifted up but I'm not sure how long it'll last. I'm going to see if the 2016 saddle bracket would work on an '05.

    I've had these on my Kawasaki Vulcan S for almost a year now. I love them, they look like they were made for the bike. I regularly carry full loads of shopping in both. It's important that you spray some WD40 into the locks every so often, esp if you ride in the rain a lot like I do. I also got some Matt black paint to match my bike and painted all the bolts, this is important as they rust very quickly otherwise.

    I just bought a 2015 police Electra Glide and the seat is put on wrong. The two bolts were mounted through the seat bracket and not in the spring, and the bracket to pivot the seat up is backwards. Once I correct these, how is the seat height adjusted?

    • @harleydavidsonbeginner5428
      @harleydavidsonbeginner5428 Рік тому

    This is a common occurrence, that the bolt is loose because Assembly people dont take care on many Items, They think they can toss a spring pack on the cam and gear assembly, hit It with the torque wrench ( ONE TIME ) AND DONE.. nope not right..If the ramps are off center and you torque the nut 155 - 165 on some 150 on some 140 on some, but the point I have is after you torque them once, and throw all the bolts and cover back on finish up and THEN start It oops there's that clank clank...take the cover back off and low and behold.. the nut is now loose .torque It again, put the cover on with 4 hand tight bolts dont need the gasket yet..start and kill It a couple times..back to the nut.. If Its still torqued correctly now you can put everything back together PS always put a couple of drops of red locktight on the nut first.

      Hi Abu, what a great question. Better is a subjective term, it also depends on the size, weight and leg and arm length. For me, the Police seat is much better over long distances for comfort. This is due to the padding and shock absorber. See my Video, I went over 1000 miles in a week. No comfort issues. There is also a reason why the police use these saddles, they are comfortable, its designed for a traffic officer to sit on it for a whole shift! I am over 6 feet tall, so the police seat being higher gives me a perfect leg position. The normal saddle puts my legs too bent and cramped on the foot boards. The only downside for me of the police saddle was that it put me further back on the bike so my arms were stretched, but I have solved that by fitting a set of 14 inch apes, although I wish I had 16’s now. If you are a shorter rider, the police seat is quite high, so you may struggle to get your feet down on the road comfortably. Also, if you like a very “sporty” feel where you are close to the bike the normal saddle is better, the police seat moves you slightly further away from the bike. However i have seen officers argue this is better for slow speed high accuracy maneuvers. For me, I own both seats. The Police saddle is better, it looks better, it's more comfortable and puts my feet in the right position.
