I am the keenest of 25m Air Rifle Benchrest shooters and I’ve won some national level Benchrest UK events.
I also qualified for the World Championships in 2023 but sadly I will be unable to attend. I shall work hard to make the next one.
I just want as many people to enjoy this fantastic sport as possible.

nice video
Absolutely love the content Matt. Keep up the good work.
Unlimited sounds very expensive 😖
Nice shooting! Very interesting review. Oh, and congratulations on your BEM. Well deserved.
Great little vid fella nice few mods u have 3D printed fair play and a 250 and a few X's to finish the vid off.... Well what can u say about that other than SPOT ON! 😉👍
Well done on your recognition mate 👍🏻🍻🇬🇧
Congratulations on your award. I love my Vixen.
Good man 👏
Great achievement Matthew, well deserved
Congratulations. Well deserved. 🏅🇬🇧🤴
Congrats on the 🏅 and Happy New Year!
Congratulations 🎖
Nice video Matthew, really enjoyed watching the live footage of you shooting a card, really helpful to watch your technique thanks.
Congratulations on the award and super what this litte rifle can do 😁
B.e.m..well done
Congratulations on the gong !!! Not bad shooting either 👍
Great rifle for those who have a mid range budget 😮but have you considered the transparency 😅???
Mahooooooooosive congrats on your BEM, from what I have seen in the short space of time following you it’s very well deserved! 🤙👏👏👏👏👏👏 As for the shooting, simply outstanding, no pressure with a camera on you…..MUCH! Not sure about the aesthetics of the 3D upgrade but damn that gun is accurate (although let’s not forget the ‘meat’ at the buttend 🤣🤣 )……will you be at the BSS in February Matt? Be good to meet you, I’m only going for benchrest reasons tbh….
Yes he will be there. There will be a big group of us going 😊
@ excellent! Didn’t realise you would be going too! Will have many questions for both of you 🙂 (try not to bore you 🫣🤣 )
Congratulations 🥇
Congratulations on the British Empire Medal Matthew, well deserved mate! Next job knighthood 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎have a belting New Year!
Congratulations on your well deserved award. Can I ask what program you used to design the printed parts?
Weldone and Congratulations on the BEM 👍🏻
Well done with the BEM. Makes a cracking change for it not to be a footballist. Are you going to have to get a suit to collect it? 3D printing is impressive, you will have to work out how to have recessed lettering on things and then print orange letters to fit in the spaces.
Nice shooting. Left-handed and right eye dominate
Congratulations on your BEM. love the channel my daughters in a wheel chair also. I have a vixen short I think it must be faulty it never shoot anything like that lol. great video sir ..
Wow, like a laser.
Congratulations on your B.E.M Well deserved 👍
Fantastic achievement yet again, B.E.M what can you say? I salute you sir ❤
cannot figure out how to enter pellet weight 8.44 it only gives the option for 8.4 any ideas please
Only 1 decimal place. Choiose .5 or .4
I’ve got the V2… it’s awesome, I have built a library of my airguns performances….
Hi Matt I couldn’t believe it when you mentioned it was a dog grooming table because my mother in law had a brand new one which she never used and she was going to sell it. My wife brought it home to photograph and put it on eBay but when I saw I couldn’t believe how solid the legs were so I said I’ll buy it . I ended up getting it for nothing and although I don’t shoot bench rest I got it to take to the golf club where I have permission for pest control. I use it mainly when sighting in a new scope or new rifle or pellet testing and it is so ridged I would recommend it to anyone who need’s a portable shooting table . Thanks great video 👍
Hi Matt I've wanted one of these in 177 long ever since I first saw it I've never been able to get the money together Then I realized why do I need it I shoot the AA S200 177 cz barrel and can get same results as that I'm ok now Love my S200 👍👍👍
Interesting! The only thing putting me off Benchrest is the expense of guns, front rests etc…yes I know it’s about the rifle but finding established BR shooters at your level testing cheaper guns is almost non existent so really looking forward to watching the progression with this Matt 🤙👍
Ive got the short in .177 ,56y head shots on corvids, ive heard lots of ppl say dont waste your money on ratworks as these rifles dont need it ,lots of ppl also change the regs but they dont need changing, only problem with the longs is they suffer with POI change due to resting the rifle on its sroud, you can overcome this by putting a spacer under the cage where its fixed to the block or spend another £130 on the alloy cage and you can pop a washer between the shroud on block ,have fun they are silly accurate 😊
Great review, will definitely be following 👍
Ayup m8. What bipod have ya got on that?
In description
I have the vixen.177 strictly for hunting and because of the weight even free hand shooting is super accurate
scared the shite out of me at the begining,, poor ears are bleeding
I have a vixen long I'm currently using for FT using sticks, the gun, and sticks far outstrip my ability as a shooter. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on.
looking forward to the changes on the vixen. Q? Are you sure about the 2.7kg? From what i can find on webshops it's about 2-2.1kg for the short and 2.2-2.3 for the long.
Fantastic review Matt. I’m certainly going to be getting hold of a Vixen in 2025.
oh very interesting. i think your right and it will bench . only thing i can level against this gun is that plastic front bit . but i know you can replace it with a metal one which makes it much stiffer
Better than my Uragan 2
is a 9015/xti 50/ hft 500/ev2 and a steyr really really that more accurate than a old s400?
Only need 1 point more to win a comp so my answer is yes
I would like to buy one too......I have some questions.....Which muzzle terminal/silencer do you recommend? Did you remove the plastic barrel holder (8)? Is the pressure regulator original.? For the rest I think I can manage on my own....Thanks and compliments for everything....Have a good life.....
All in my other Chiappa videos.
Rti is already a winner
I used to love competing in the wind during archery competitions. I live on a hillside on the Welsh border and was lucky enough to have a 60meter range at home so every time I practised it was windy. After a while you tend to have a feel for the wind movement and speed and naturally adapted to it. We normally only had two flags, one on the shooting line, one on the target boss (the boss is the backstop with the target face attached…). And they were very rarely blowing in the same direction! I normally finished top two on windy days because most either practised indoors or shot from an enclosed shooting line whereas I was always (or so it seemed!) practising in wind. Practicing from an enclosed shooting line so you don’t get cold or wet is detrimental to your scores. Practice is all weathers so you are ready for everything. Additionally shooting from cover you cannot feel the wind so therefore it isn’t part of your psyche until it’s too late. I’ve seen county champions become visually upset at their shooting because of arrows flying everywhere and not being able to deal with it by not knowing the wind. My philosophy when it’s windy is ‘work with the wind, not against it’……again, another cracking tutorial video and will help immensely 🤙
I know this is a couple of years old now, but for someone like me starting out it’s just invaluable. It all makes perfect sense and more importantly it appeals to my sense of OCD. As a now retired competition archer, weighing and measuring points (arrowhead) shafts (arrow body) and nocks (notched end that fits onto the string) was always paramount for your competition quiver set. Working in tungsten and carbon fibre the tolerances were negligible (especially if you’re paying £25-£30 for a single arrow shaft…that’s before you fit the point, nock and vanes which cost extra…) however you still did it because at 50metres the arrow needs to rotate correctly after leaving the bow and straightening up. Micron and grain difference will have miniscule effects on its flight very much the same as pellets and is the difference between cutting the line or not (10 or X). This is probably why Benchrest appeals to me so much! Thanks for taking to time to do this and for me personally as a disabled person, thank you for being such an inspiration. My heart has been heavy at giving up compound target archery, but I have found something I can apply myself to which appeals to my competitive nature. Thanks Matt 🤙🫶🏻
Feel free to join the AirAbility Facebook group. Just say you agree to the rules when joining. There is way more banter and tips there. Wish you luck on your new journey.
Yet another question for you Matt…..if your shooting bulls and the wind changes, can you go back to the sighter rings for one or two shots just to test aim off etc? Or is it a case of once you have started shooting the actual scoring targets you have to stay on those targets…..cheers 👍
Yes as many times as you want
@ thanks Matt! Just ordered a ruck of targets straight after this video from BRUK……you are gonna get me into so much trouble with the long haired General 🫣👀
Egg & bacon Banjo…..with HP BROWN sauce lad…..if it’s the devils work, then I’m off to hell 😂…….and yes, I agree….no butter…..
