This channel is an attempt to simplify DIY. I have often found that the simplest DIY tasks can't be found for certain models of vehicles and other stuff. Rather than sift through hundreds of forums and comments, hopefully you can find some direction here!
I try to keep the videos simple and succinct but am new to making videos so your comments are appreciated on how I can improve them!

Triumph Scrambler air cooled VW exhaust tip mod
Super easy and very cost effective. Probably one of my favorite looks on the scramblers as well.
Sound is awesome. Not perfect but it’s simple enough to swap back to the stock mufflers if it’s too loud. Sounds best at higher revs.

Fake CHINESE NGK spark plugs sold as “Amazon’s Choice”. Best way to tell if they are authentic…
Переглядів 20 тис.2 роки тому
They might be ngk China brand. The quality looks comparable. But I’m not taking that chance. The metal on the plug looks slightly different color as well. Here’s the email from NGK advanced technical support: Hello, Thank you for your inquiry. They were NOT manufactured in Japan. We cannot authenticate “Made in China” plugs. Even if they are manufactured in NGK China plant, they should not be s...
Safe rust removal - evaporust and steel wool. Volvo 240 chrome beauty rings

My Volvo 240 beauty rings were very rusted. Here I am testing the paper towel method of soaking large areas in evaporust along with my tried and true steel wool method. They turned out brilliant.

2006-2012 (R51) 4.0-liter Nissan Pathfinder: Coolant fill and burp
Переглядів 64 тис.3 роки тому
I couldn’t find a good video on the process of filling and burping the coolant system on my 3rd gen pathfinder, so I made one! After taking my car to the stealership for a large repair, I found my coolant system was leaking out the expansion/overflow reservoir after getting to temp and longer drives. I suspect there was a bubble in the system and lost a ton of coolant. So I decided to refill an...
Thanks for the tip I got mine to now work thought it was goin to be something else major
soooo buy a coolant burp kit. thanks I would have never thought of that

Made in china might not mean they are fake ngk’s, but it does mean they are junk ngk’s. Just like the people themselves that make them. Pure junk.
I have a 2012 Scrambler and the stock exhaust seems quite loud. It pops a fair amount when coming off the gas and sounds aggressive, but I would enjoy less noise…did he VW pipes qualitatively sound more quiet?
great video but keep in mind the nissan uses the blue coolant, the green coolant is for american cars , wrong coolant can eat away at your gaskets seals causing leaks over time
Nissan back then used the green coolant, they've switched back n forth with green n blue... my coworker has a 19 kicks, which came with green coolant he was low and told him to add distilled water he went n had it flushed at Nissan, which used blue coolant.
This video is a joke. If it’s made for the Chinese market surely a lot of people in china drive cars so are all those cars broken down. I don’t think so. Just put them in your car and use them. Don’t expect mega miles just change them earlier. No big deal. Everything is Chinese these days no big deal.
Your a fool.
Do you ever open the bleeder valve near the heater core and firewall?
Hey brother, thanks for sharing your experience. The market is saturated with so many chinese goods that are fakes or could be OEMs. It's so hard to distinguish what and what's not. I have gotten burned with a set of mopar lifters and rockers for the 3.7 pentastar from eBay. In your case, the plugs might be original just built for the chinese market. I would give it a try and post the outcome. Again, thanks for sharing.
What color does the 4.0 take green or blue
Asian green!
Yep, asian green. Slightly different mix than typical prestone green.
Valvoline ZEREX Asian vehicle BLUE
I just installed my Denson plugs from China. They sure are different than the US and cheaper
Is this allowed?? Police will get you out here in Germany:-/ good sound though.
No issues here in the wild west!
NGK parts made in china appear inferior quality, purchased plug wires for '98 Camry. lasted 2 years before throwing a 1310 code for coil and flashing CHK light for excess unburnt fuel and po304, purchased an NGK coil made in china likely with same results
GO TO TEMO LMFAO
not only spark plugs are fake on Amazon. there alot more products that are fake. I got a fake weed killer
Hola dónde los compraste y cuál es la referencia de las gomas de Triumph?
stopped buying from amazon and ebay important parts, lots of fakes
What brand is that funnel kit you used? I keep buying some off Amazon and they just spill out the adapter...
This is the one I got. a.co/d/2STytd9
@grahamsgarage0 ill give that one a try once the new radiator goes in
If ngk have a plant in China producing spark plugs , and these plugs are stating ngk ....made in China there is no fake about it , they are genuine ngk , my spark plugs say ngk , Japan, ....followed by , .....produced in Thailand, so because ngk made them in Thailand. does that make them fake ????????
Hi handsome, check the ohms.
Do you have to add water to the antifreez????
Depends on which one you get. Many come pre-mixed and will say so on the bottle
I did excitedly exactly this, my rear heater is not that hot at all
How long do you let it cool down for? I know the system not pressurized but just curious
I’ve been looking for those wire mesh tips for the exhaust, by any chance do you know the model for them? I am doing the same thing with my exhaust and that wire mesh just peeled off, pretty old i’m guessing.
I had a hard time finding them online. I ended up going to the dealer and picking some up. The old ones were like welded on!
What vw pipes did you buy
Got these! I wanted stainless so paid a little more than the cheaper chrome ones. a.co/d/2STytd9
Obviously not a fake but just gray market. No big deal except that you overpaid.
Yea sure mate , so just whack anything in your bike that’s says NGK .. forget about ever going back for replacement if there’s a dud plug
if its a fake NGK plug they won't say its made in China. The fake would used Made in Japan instead...the fact that it is boldly printed on the box as Made in China then it is made by NGK China...Those who sell fakes would never print Made in China on the boxes or the products
Just use a OHM meter and will show you if they are rear or not. Cheap FAKE Chinese's plugs are not worth risking putting into your engine. Pay full price from a LEGAL distributor and have a peace of mind.. ua-cam.com/video/vpH4O14EBxA/v-deo.html
My friend has had these VW tips in his Scrambler for years. Sounds fricking amazing live and it also looks like stock motorcycle. Hell this is how the Scrambler should have looked like right out of the factory instead of with that heavy hunk of junk exhaust it came by default. That said while technically you should not need a remap with just an exhaust change you are still leaving some performance on the table if you do not do it. At the very least TOR map is recommended.
Totally agree! Good point about remapping. It does open up the exhaust a bit so probably losing a bit of power.
Just test the resistance... Chinese are not consistent,
Probably need to change your title then. You dont know they are fake, so why discredit amazon?
NGK spark plugs are very poor plugs fake or not, when GM got out of the spark plug business, we, in the racing industry had one hell of a time finding plugs that would fire our very high compression engines beyond 7,000 rpm's, lower compression, below 12-1 not so bad, then Champion brought their manufacture back to USA, reworked em, we have Champion iridium in everything now, you can't make them misfire, I think they are better than the old GM AC Delco's, try em, you will never go back.
BULLSHIT NGK ARE OUTSTANDING
WE ARE NOT F1 DRIVERS.........ARE YOU MAX VERSTAPPEN ? LMFAO
@@bongodrummer6914 They are junk, the newer China ones are actually falling apart and wrecking engines, always bad, now junk, you try American made Champion iridium, especially in a super high performance racing engine, you will never go back.
If the spark plug works, then it works. No point in going through all the hassle of returning the spark plugs. I bought a Chinese made $32 MAF sensor for my Rav4 and the MAF worked perfectly fine. If I were to buy the same MAF from the local parts store I would be looking at at least $150. Buying online is much cheaper than buying at the local auto-parts store but just like anything else one has to look at the reviews and take their chances. The spark plugs do look legit and I wouldn't hesitate using those plugs in my car. It's way to difficult to fake a spark plug and make the plug look identical to the original. Cheap things are easily faked but the process to fake a brand name spark plug is way too difficult. What probably happened is that you bought stock made for the Asian market instead of the North American market, which is the most likely answer to everything you discussed here in your video.... BTW ~ Some things are ONLY made for the Asian market and are much better quality than anything made here in N.A. Great video though....!
You get what you paid for....of course you're accepting all the liabilities that come with the "counterfeit goods" the plugs can break down when you are driving. The broken parts can fall into the engine causing thousands of dollars of damage...he is trying to explain being taken advantage of and the seller not reporting that these are "known" fake goods.
Just think how much more fuel you're using now you have a cheap Chinese MAF. Don't be a cheapskate, it will catch up with you and hit you where it hurts.
Dood thanks. You nail it in 4 minutes. I've been trying to help someone through this problem remotely and haven't found clear direct info as good as this anywhere till now. Props! This is a lifesaver!
Bruh.. 😂 both are original! Made in China doesn’t mean fake.😂
Correct, NGK are junk anywhere they are made, Champion, the best plug, made in USA.
@BruceWayne-sz3th Yes, NGK spark plugs are now made in China, they are poor quality.
@BruceWayne-sz3th NGK has a plant in China...so has iphone, 3M and numerous America companies have plants in China
if its poor quality then it is the fault of NGK Japan because the NGK plant in China is own by NGK n they are responsible for quality control @@user-Dr.
@@Alicia_lovepuppiesCould not agree more, they were poor quality when made in Japan, much worse quality once moved to China, that is why Champion brought all of their production back to U.S.A.. The best spark plug you can buy today.
Good idea 👍
Thanks so much, this video helped me a lot to burp the air my engine had, after following the steps, no more overheating, thanks again for taking the time to show us.
Great to hear!
U don’t use the plug thing?
Use the plug at the end when pulling the funnel off. It allows you to not spill everywhere!
this make the China doughtfull for his every product
Does this process go for the 2014 Pathfinder? I was asking because eome say 50/50 Prestone & some say blue coolant for Asian vehicles.
Thank you for posting. Hope the kids learned a lot.
I'm always skeptical of chinese amazon trash. Thanks for the video.
The kids make it
I want to change the antifreeze on my 2006 Nissan Pathfinder, but can I change to the blue antifreeze that modern Nissan vehicles use?
Turning the heater on all the way is key. I didn't do that my first go at it and had some issues. Minor but nonetheless issues. Thanks man!
This is helping me so freaking much thank youuuu.
Where did your purchase the burping kit or who makes it?I bought one from advance auto parts&the radiator cap adapter didn't seal properly.. Thanks
You can just wrap the seal with duct tape to get it to seal tighter
Got mine on Amazon!
Which one did you get? I ordered one and the only fitting that seem to fit spilled out coolant! @grahamsgarage0
Where did you buy the funnel?
Here's the deal. They're fake. They might be sellable in other markets than ours but it's more likely they're just cheap counterfeit plugs. Really hard to tell right? Here's some ways I've figured out how to tell. Can't go by the boxes or the print/font BUT if u can confirm any of the following then go back at the end and see if there's anything else that sticks out. Stuff gets reboxed at ALL the parts stores in usa. 1. Weight them . They need to all be identical in weight and have a less than 10% tolerance for defect. If they come in a set of 4 (they'll only ever come in sets of 4 or individual, never 10. But expect them all to be identical. .2-.4g tolerance. E.g. plug weights 48.5g, the new ones better way no less then 48.1 and no more then 48.9. among the set though, they should be identical 2. Venier Calipers. Same deal. Measure , check thread pitch (maybe on a lug nut with correct thread pitch) the Chinese ones are always off on the thread pitch. 3. Magnifying glass. Compare the tips and Laser welds. Look for rust of scratches or unclean finish in the engravings etc. 4. With platinum or iridium plugs if you have a MAGNET neodim, hold it close to each side of the spark plug electrode and tip. There's might be noticable more magnetic pull toward the fakes , but this was hard to tell by touch. 5. Use a magnetic sensor on a flagship Android phone and download Dev Check, it'll show u sensors there including one for Magnetic Field. Pretty coool cause you can find the sensor in your screen by looking at it (measure with a spark plug too) and you'll see the microTeslas are measurable higher with the fakes. The precious metals have little effect on on the magnetic sensor. I found this to be true any time I've checked. Can use this sensor to measure coil packs too, anything with a magnetic field, which is all matter ... --talked to an expert once and he said they send them on for xray scanning . I forget the term for it but that's how they decide when it's too hard to tell.
The magnetic sensor, don't look at it, sorry typo. Wave your hand across the screen repeatedly, look for movement , find the sensor in the screen where it's strongest signal is. You can do this while holding the spark plug and slowly waving it across the glass not touching...but you'll find the sweet spot
Test output?
Yeah...i recently bought some NGK iridium plugs for my truck and almost installed them before i saw a video on how to identify "counterfeit" from the REAL ones. You can't just go by looks.....testing them can also show they are fake...and it doesn't cost much....just buy a HF (harbor freight) multimeter and check their readings from 1x plug to another.... all my 8x plugs read all differently (the numbers were all over the map....not a small amount either)!
Even if they are manufactured in NGK China plant, they should not be sold in the US market. They are intended for China market only. YES BUT IT DEFINITEL COULD BE SOLD IN USA
Of course it can be sold in the US...They are selling them on ebay
They didn’t pay all taxes for us patients and rest of taxes
Does this translate to a 2007 Nissan Xterra
Yes Def if it is a 4.0. I believe it's the same with the other engines also
this actually will work on any vehicle more or less. some vehicles have a air bleeder screw like my ford fusion that makes it a bit easier. but the xterra, frontier and pathfinders are basically the same.
