Scott&Stiles || Your favorite Song

The entirety of this vid is for my best friend's birthday. I wanted this song for Scott and Stiles and she asked me why a long time before I started to think of it as a possible fanvid.
I think EET is the most wonderful coming of age metaphor, a tribute to the loss in this painful but necessary process. It is a bittersweet feeling.
Scott comes to this in season 3b, he is an alpha now, he has doubts, he has no idea of what he's doing and the only right thing to do in this in-between state is to protect his friends; which he fails at. There are responsabilities that he isn't ready for. In this kind of moments, this familiar song helps to remember who he is, who he wants to be. This song is Stiles. He always has been this to Scott; an anchor of some sort. It will be terrifying not to be able to protect it.
It wasn't an explicit on-screen thing, but I like to think Jeff Davis wanted us to notice Scott realizes his mistakes, the way he let his best friend down in the past, most of the time because Stiles wasn't the only person in his life anymore; which is a normal life thing, I'm not judging. As I was vidding this, I learnt more of Scott and his relationship with Stiles. I truly think he admires him because the boy and now he sees him under a new light, as Stiles is now, after everything he went through. He probably regrets that he didn't protect him when he still could and now he's clueless to how change his best friend's fate. I also feel that Scott doesn't get how Stiles can imagine not being strong enough, not as much as a werewolf, to help. For him, Stiles is the best man and he's perfect the way he is, Scott doesn't need more or anything else.
I add Allison because Allison is, even after season 2, a pillar of Scott's world. Season 1 and 2 was mostly about choosing between Allison and Stiles. I feel like it's tragic and beautiful that, in the end, without talking about choices, Allison dies to save Stiles.
This is the story of life, on repeat.
That's basically why I love vidding that much: It's pure meta.
