Beautiful.. love witching birds
Very commendable. I've been travelling between Basildon and Southend on the C2C line pretty much every day this past year and was thinking just a couple of days ago I hadn't seen a single Lapwing in any of the seasons.
Brilliant, I really enjoyed it and tried to follow with my bird book, to note differences in plumage.
Thank you so much for watching, we're you found it useful
Congratulations Mike 👍
Excellent video enjoyed watching Thank you ❤️🫡
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it!
Some great images there! Inspiring.
Agreed, glad you enjoyed them
Great video mate. Nice to learn about different sites. 👍
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed
I'd like to make a plea to Essex Birdwatchers. I was gifted an RSPB membership last Christmas and throughout this past year have visited a number of Essex sites. I freely admit to being an utter novice and unfamiliar with 'birding' ways. However I have found many birdwatchers I've encountered to be rather unfriendly and quite a few downright rude! Please try to assist new birdwatchers rather than alienate them?
This will help me enormously. Always wondering what I've got on the Bull Island here in North Dublin. We have all these along with the odd Ruff, Curlew and Whrimble. Thanks a lot I feel a lot better armed now. Must remember the black arm pits!
Thanks for watching, glad you found it useful
Thanks a lot for posting this. What a superb overview. Really helpful.
Thank you, pleased that you enjoyed it
With the library, I have been using Libby for some time, which works well. Use it for Birdwatch, Bird Watching and BBC Wildlife mainly.

Thanks for watching the show Jon, see you soon.
❤️🫡
Guys, thank you for the video. Very well explained. It really helps to give you an idea before going. Looking forward to visit it.
Glad you enjoyed the video, hope you spot lots of different species when you visit
Great video to do some swotting up before a wader survey next week! 👌👌
Thanks for watching and well done for doing the wader survey 👍
Might be a silly question but I’ve always wondered if you’re allowed to walk on the mudflats, for example at RSPB pagham and medmerry there are quite a few and wondered if you could
Thanks for watching the video 👍Walking on mudflats, even if permitted, is highly likely to disturb birds and other wildlife which will stop them feeding and use valuable energy as they flee. You should always watch from a safe and respectful distance wherever you are.
Thank you guys, I've recently visited, having lived on the south coast for many years and this was really useful to identify what it was I was watching on the river Blackwater, a wonderful area, full of amazing new birds to discover. I have very fond memories of Essex and the evocative sounds.
Hi Phil, glad that the video was helpful, thanks for watching it. We're very lucky to have so much amazing coastal habitat in the county, it's always a great place to go birding.
Funniest thing we've seen for ages
Sorry I missed this "live" this time. Yes, I know, what possible legitimate excuse is there for missing "Birds of Essex". Now watched it back. Great show as always Matt and Steve.
Thanks for watching as always Richard, your contributions are much appreciated 👍
And there was me thinking that Matt and Steve were sensible and professional🤣😂 .... I think it may be for the best that "Birds of Essex" is taking a break in April 2023.
Steve and Matt deny all rumours and allegations of professionalism or sense! 🤪
great show gents👍
Thanks for watching Richard, glad you enjoyed the show 👍

Thank you so much for watching, glad you enjoyed it. Happy new year!
A lovely selection of photos, just as I thought I'd seen my favourite, another came along. It would be nice to see those photos credited, maybe? Thank you for posting and to all those that were in the right place at the right time.
Thank you for watching and for your comments. Time is the main reason that the photos haven't been credited but we'll consider it in the future if possible.
@@ebws No probs
I live in E1 London, close by is christ Church, I'm lucky to be able to watch the two peregrine falcons who live mostly on the church and area (Square Mile), I'm sure they are male and female, the female uses an ambush technique often from the church spire ledge, mostly pidgins, or black birds (not sure about the latter) occasionally she will fly extremely high in the sky, which is absolutely breathtaking to watch. Thx for the vid.
Thanks for watching and for sharing your local Peregrine story. They're always fantastic birds to see and we're glad you're enjoying them.
Go there often, a very good review👍
Thank you for watching, hope you found it useful

Fantastic presentation 👏. Great photographs, but the sketches at the end awesome 👌. I'm a keen wildlife photographer, but I'd give photography to be able to sketch like that. 👍
Glad you enjoyed the presentation Michael
Thanks, Steve, really enjoyable. Great photos and sketches.
