Substandard ang materials mga corrupt ang nagproject

Kinurakot na naman sa naka upo sa gobyerno ngayon, grabe mga walang hiya pera ng taong bayan.

I believed this project is still under the defect notification period (i.e. under warranty) hence the contractor is obliged to repair at his own cost, the government may not spend money for the repair however reputational damage have had already inflicted to the Project Management Team and to DPWH. As shown in video, it seems that the asphalt overlay developed a high severity pot holes, dislodgement, surface shoving as manifested by the misalignment of paint striping. It can also be seen that the pavement distress were localized in the cable stayed spans (i.e. Main Bridge spans) and stagnation of storm water sheet flow in bridge deck were also observed. I opined that momentarily the damage maybe limited to the asphalt overlay, however immediate removal & reconstruction of the asphalt pavement is necessary to eliminate the water ponding and ensure sufficient run-off drainage to prevent incursion/penetration of rain water to the deck slab that may jeopardize the integrity of the structure in future. Secondly for the repair, the implementing agency would consider reviewing the design of asphalt overlay in terms of its load carrying capacity as in most cases high severity pot holes is a manifestation poor loading capacity, and also to check the appropriateness of the asphalt mix used considering that based on standard industry practice, normally flexible asphalt pavement was used for surfacing on cable stayed bridge decks due to spans displacement cause by moving loads. Just my 2 cents.

Another solution is get different contractor and let the them pay for the fix! I would NOT trust the original contractor when they don't do the job correct in the first place!

No proper design mixture between aggregates, sand and the asphalts.. Maybe no application of betumine/primecoat prior for asphalt pavement.

This is how deep rooted CORRUPTION is in the Philippines. Though not all (@Mike Deo), some exceptions at DPWH, the collusion of Pork Barrel Holders, LGU Chiefs, DPWH and other Government Entities is the root of all substandard government projects. No amount of Build, Build, Build or Build, Better, More; lalo lang nabubusog yung mga Buwaya, Jecko and Butikis. Ito dapat ang pagtuonan ng pansin ng gobierno para tanggalin yung koraption. Hindi yung sabihin ni D na hoy korap kayo or si B sabihin na mas korap kayo. Kawawa ang pilipino today, in the future and millenia from now. Makasarili, sakim, at pera lang iniisip.

Kakatakot yan baka pati buong pundasyon nyan sub-standard din. Wala ka talagang maaasang maganda pag sa Pilipinas puro corruption. 😢

Ang nakakatakot, pano kung di lang Aspalto ang tinipid? May warranty naman yan siguro. Ipaulit sa contractor free of charge pero iba yung mag QC. Yung nag approve, make them accountable, kasuhan, alisin sa pwesto.

Dapat lagyan ng traffic signs kung ano lang ang tonnage ng sasakyan padaanin. At aka overlay asphalt is not recommended for a bridge which is long for vehicle passage. As an inspection is supposed to be tight I surmise baka there was no strick inspection conducted from an independent team not just from DPWH.

Retention is fixed at 10% per R.A. 9184. Maximum laying thickness of asphalt is only 2 inches per layer, otherwise it cannot be compacted. Talking about 6 inches thick, it can be laid by 3 layers.
