Thank you! Those instructions truly are useless - don't make it clear at all that the mounting clips are needed for side mounting, and add confusion by noting "if the sidewall of the tub distorts at all when you tighten the screw, loosen the screw.' First of all maybe use shims so that the opening is actually the right width, but since the dimple on the outside of the tub in inset from the edge of the sheet metal it made me think that they intended for me to have an unsupported length of screw hanging out between the tub and my cabinet. This clears it right up, so now to Amazon to get some clips ASAP since I lost the ones that came with the dishwasher...

I’ve dealt with the same problem many times and even fiberglass the whole backside. If you live somewhere cold they will crack again somewhere else. You should try your repair the whole length of the skirt. Problem is that plastic is just old and brittle and screw holes crack . What I did was ditch the skirt and did a painted angle iron edge. Cut a few pieces weld and paint it and screw it on with some stainless screws. Maybe you can clean up the paint enough under the skirt to match. No more plastic.

Manual sucks. Said mine was a torx 20 bit on the back adjustable foot. Self-install made me tip it forward so I could see it. Making the door fall open. Ended up being a Phillips. And then this mounting bracket. What the hell? Who would figure that out from the instructions provided Thank you for your help. Rocket scientists appreciated.

Boy, for a appliance technology company, Samsung sure sucks at providing complete instructions on some things!! no way I could have figured this out without this video and Im very handy! Unbelievable. Thank you.

The manual instructions were useless in explaining how to mount side mount (we have granite) so it was mind boggling in how to mount brackets to the cabinet when you clearly can’t reach them with what appeared to be the correct way to mount the screws once the dishwasher was in place. THANK YOU FOR POSTING!!! I just installed a this same dishwasher for my In-Laws and my concern of top mounting those brackets was drilling awfully close (about 1 inch) to the edge of a granite countertop. Out of fear of breaking the granite I was wondering how to side mount the dishwasher. I had no idea about the multiple use of those mounting brackets. As I recall, the installation manual doesn’t even show me that option. What size and length wood screw did you use? Problem hopefully, solved! 👍👍👍👍

Don’t get the rave reviews his hands were in the way so you don’t see the process, I did get the just of it. Warning brackets are not all the same width, I had to use a cutoff wheel to narrow the part that slips through the slot. And if you have a plastic waterproof cabinet there’s nothing for the screw to bite into on the sink side.

Why could Samsung not explain this properly?? I had no idea how do use these clips to side mount until seeing your video, and I'm quite handy. Samsung should send you royalty payments for helping so many people finish off their installation.

Thank you so much. Fighting with this for days. Instruction manual is completely unhelpful, useless, etc. Their videos from their official support website are likewise worthless. No installers will touch quartz, granite, etc. anymore. So side mount is required. And their side mount instructions are garbage. This video is from 2017 and they are just as bad still.

Bless you, Duncan! Sincerely appreciate your ingenuity and thoughtfulness to post this for all of us held in frustration by a poorly written manual.
