We work with tractors & a dozer. I've wanted to post videos on UA-cam to share my experiences and hopefully teach someone something that would benefit them. Thanks

Mornin Mr Todd
What was any better as a kid in the summer drinking from the hose
I have a proyama 68cc chainsaw,I enjoy to use it!
I wouldn't know. Id love to try one I hear good things about them
Strange
I've got some inspecting to do
Yeah they are hit and miss!
Yes sir. The good ones seem pretty good though
In my area, we call it “stickering the deck” Skids imply sliding on something. Digging the tractor Mike.. Someday I’ll need to get my own work horse.. I keep going back and forth between tractor, 580 Case, or a tracked Skidsteer. I want to be able to go out and do small dirt jobs, and that would be harder with a single stage pump tractor.
Skid steer would be ideal for that kind of work. My experience running them is the track style is 100% the way to go.
@ so, join me in my indecisiveness.. Love the idea of a tracked skidsteer………. but what if I have a septic repair to make.. Hard to dig 8’ to exhume a septic tank with a skid steer.. BUT WAIT… If I get a 580… thats too heavy for my old 1 ton to move, so maybe the skid steer -is- the better option… although the 580 does road fairly fast….. but a tractor is -way- cheaper, and has more available attachments… Round and round we go 😂😂
@@Brandon.Fischer lol you just need one of each. They also have backhoe attachments for skid steers..... I figured id throw that out there too. I do like my little backhoe on my compact tractor. it has become very handy
@ I ran one this summer… it was a bit rough to say the least. Im not sure if you could dig deep enough to do anything worth while up here. Remember up here in Alaska everything gets buried deep to avoid freezing. Water lines are 12’ and the septic start at 4’ then run at 2% from there.
@@Brandon.Fischer you need more tropical environment. J/K part of it. I think alaska would be an awesome place to have some property.
Those look like some good milling logs
I think they do to Mr Tim. Sure would like to have Richards old mill

Ah dang hate to hear that. So far Joe's 372 seems to have decent luck out of it.
@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead haven't told ya story? Changed to OEM oiler. Went to start, was locked up. Looked in cylinder, nothing. Forced fly wheel by hand, got to turning good. Put everything back on, wouldn't pull again. Couldn't free by hand. Took to shop, broken wristpin clip. He replaced and put back together. He can't pull it. With clutch off or loose it pulls fine, in place and tight nothing. And he can't figure it out. Oh yeah, I've only cut about 1 cord w it. My advice, save that $400 3x and buy an actual 372
@@brandonhoad9033 i would love an actual 372. Im looking forward to finally getting a husky sometime
Definitely I will have to talk to Joe about one of those saws.. looks like it may come in handy..
This little top handle lives on my Polaris ranger. It has become extremely handy tool to carry
not a bad saw for the money, as long as all is well with it! Thanks buddy!
I agree. It did well in this birch wood
Tiny is awesome! I love my T574, but to be honest I think your machine would do anything I need to on my property. How does it do with IBC totes stacked full of split firewood?
I sure like this machine. I'll be doing some green oak on some totes sometime this winter. So far with seasoned oak/Hickory it doesn't bother this machine at all.
My people make great saws
Some of de best saaws
Enjoying my first visit to your channel. Nice job moving those logs. That TYM does a great job!
Hey Mr Jim, Thanks for stopping by. I'm really liking this machine. It has done everything I ask and then some.
Can you imagine the tractor struggling to pick those up? Just thinking that if I would have gone with a Kubota L Series, by the time the forks were on it, you would be at the limit or maybe over. Good video man!
Thats crazy to think about. Technically i should of been able to pick up both of the large trunks. I wish i would of known the weight sooner and i would have tried it.
@ hahaha. That would have been good!
That is a beautiful log Mike. Cannot wait to see what you do it with it! There that linked pedal is again!
Im happy it wasnt hollow. When the water came out of the tree i though i was gonna have to cut another one.
@ ya, kinda shocking it was that sound. You cut it down at a good point
Man that cow got it! The linked pedal is a pretty cool feature Mike. I find I am either idling too much or my throttle is up too much. I like how you spaced the logs so you could drive through them. Good idea! Look at those forks able to be tilted back like mine cannot.
lol I didnt even notice her until i was editing this video, I really like the linked pedal. it comes in handy alot
Good Company indeed! Wish we were neighbors for sure Russ, Mike and Kenny!
I fully agree to this
If i had my own trees to cut on my property I'd use skid logs. I go cut standing dead out in the woods for my firewood. My property has no dead trees.
Mr Ted I think skid logs are gonna be great. Do you have access to cut dead trees close by to you
@TheRustyGarageandHomestead Yeah around 10 miles away so not too bad! It's nice to get out in the woods and cut really.
@@tedneitzel I agree with you it is
How are you figuring the weight of them logs

@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead thanks
I used my 1025r with light duty grapple to move an 8’6” long, 18” diameter red oak logs. It picked it up a few inches off the ground just enough to move it. Tiny is pretty impressive.
Hey Robbinsoutdoors. So far im extremely impressed with what this little machine is capable of doing.
Skids are perfect Mike. The tractor handled them big logs well. Congratulations Russ, ya made it on Tiny.
Russ is in good company for sure. Im really liking the skids
Someone in the background just noticed she was alone 😅 1st log 1800#s
Hey Mr Brandon, I was thinking it was going to be heavier than it was. She is a mess

@@TheRustyGarageandHomestead just sent bull calf Thur, another $500+ calf, 97#s. And another born last night. They'll bout cover 1/2 the property taxes
I recognized that envelope as soon as you showed it. Russ, Gramps, and Kevin definitely put in the work!! Definitely nice have a tractor and forks around the property.
Hey Mr Heath, They sure do. I'm amazing how much wood they go through, Gramp is a beast with that saw. I'm sure gramp has some stories. That little machine is extremely handy. I wouldn't have been able to get the 100hp tractor in the timber where that was without tearing something up.
Your tractor is superior to Joe's tractor, because you added a steering knob to it! LOL! As I watch you maneuver your tractor while using the loader, it's quite obvious how nice a steering knob is. I started driving tractors in 1972 at age 9, & I wouldn't own one without a steering knob. I mentioned this to the Oakie Woodsman some time ago, but he must prefer owning an inferior tractor without a steering knob! 🙂
Hey Driftless, hahahaha i know the steering knobs are game changers. If you have never used one you just don't understand. They make life a lot easier. Maybe Joe will install on some day.
Did someone get a sawmill for Christmas?
Hey Andrew........ Maybe......yes but not a conventional sawmill

Job well done mission accomplished. I had my drone all in position for a tree I was dropping and forgot to hit the record button I was so 😡 mad!!
Hey Andrew, I've done the same thing. Its a real bummer when you realize it and the opportunity to get the recording is already over. Thanks for stopping by
I'm looking at a tractor identical to Tiny. After seeing it move those oak logs I'd say it would do everything I want it to do.
Mr Russ I'm highly impressed with this machine. Being 25hp its great on fuel and it does everything I've asked it to. I'm sure there are better tools for the job. My 100hp tractor would easily move these logs but its so large it wouldn't have got back in the timber as well as this one or fit in between the skids
Just say no to green
@ green is too much money for this cheap guy🤣
Lots of good company on that loader for sure. Appreciate you for sure.
Mr Russ anytime. Sticker looks good on the machine

@OpenAirAdventure Mr Kenny i need to cut some more and fill a tote or two of it. Used to i just shoved em in brush piles. But the more I learn about it is it makes decent firewood
@@OpenAirAdventure it sure cuts easy too. I do like that. Not like some of these oaks around here
@TheRustyGarageandHomestead it does. Make sure ya split it regardless of the size and cover just the top. It's burns just as good as maple.
Birch is excellent firewood here in Colville Washington!
That was a good one
Mr Kenny that was a fun day for sure

That about like the black Jacks lol
Evening Mike. Those black jack are becoming troublesome. Crazy how they're dying out and breaking off. Haha,#20 instigator. I think ya did fine. Not pretty but it was successful. Back cut above the Humboldt. 1/3 face with 2" rise works for me. Some nice firewood in that oak.
Mr Kenny Thank you. Im for sure out of practice. Im glad it went where i wanted it to go. Those black jacks are a pain for sure lol
Hahahah.... cows. Best, -- J. Andre. / Old Iron Acres

As long as it goes where u want it and u make it home thats all that matters every one comes in low sometimes no matter how many trees u fell
Thank you Mr Mitchell. I was happy it went where it needed to and no injuries. Thank you for stopping by and commenting.
I think your side by side was a little too close to the fall area. Lucas from Peek's Peak dropped a tree on his a few months ago. 🪓🪓
Hey srsatlaf, I do remember seeing that video smashing the Kubota. I hated to see that happen. That was actually something I thought about so I put the sxs where it wouldn't get hit. The camera may have made things look out of perspective. I put the sxs in a spot that there was no way the tree could have hit it. The tree wasn't tall enough to reach that far. Lucas's video was an eye opener. Thanks for stopping by and for the reminder though
Enjoyed the video and yes cows are so curious! What kind of shift work do you do? I thought you were busy enough with the farm. Happy NEW YEAR!
Hi Trail cam, I work a 12hr rotation shift swapping from nights to day back and forth with a two days off inbetween. I could stay busy with the farm all the time. I would like to be at the farm full time in the future. I could get a lot more done
I like to use dryer lint and coat it in petroleum jelly, little trick my grandpa taught me make a bunch throw it in a zip lock and it's real light and will stay lit for a bit
Mr Gavin that is a great idea. I may have to give that a try. Do you just mix a handful of jelly with a handful of lint or is there a certain ratio you use?
We've all had stumps look like that! 660 is a beast!
Mr Ted thank you. It is a fun saw to run for sure. I'm just out of practice
Well done. The more you do it the better you will get. It's on the ground and everyone is safe that is all you can ask for at the end of the day
Mr. Russ I agree. I'm just out of practice. I've cut a lot of trees down over the years. Then I started just using the bulldozer for the last several years to take trees down. Bulldozer is funer lol
