    Hello, not trying to be argumentative, however there is a lot of literature showing that suppressing the Moro reflex negatively affects a babies motor development amongst other things. I feel this is important to review prior to promoting this predominantly western practice, or to also demonstrate the possible adverse effects. Thank you for your video nonetheless.

    Babies (below one year) cry for one of 3 reasons, change nappy, hurt/discomfort or hungry... To neglect this IS abuse in a form.

    Was gonna ask the same as pp. what if baby falls asleep at the breast? We do the same thing in the same order every night and he always gets fed last so that he’s nice and full but 99% of the time he falls asleep at the breast.

    Let me offer one possible solution since this video does offer any. Put your child to bed, and stand over your child for at least a half an hour, just to be sure. Do this multiple times until it finally takes. My daughter has been fighting sleep for nearly a week and I’m at the end of my tether.

    My 2 month old is out down around 8-9pm and is awake all night. He’s up every 2-3 hours to feed. Is this normal? How can I get him to feed longer? He grunts all night after his first awake window which is 3 and a half hours. Sometimes he wakes up after an hour and 30 and won’t even make it the 2 hour stretch. Please help!

      It's very difficult to say with such little information but have you read the book? Days and nights are very tied together at this age. Great sleep at this age is holistic - getting enough food in the daytime and timing. Then watch the video about "babies only sleeping in arms" and you might get more info from that one too - but the book on Amazon is agreat place to start. a.co/d/bJMtusj

    hi maa'm , my baby is 14 months old . 1. can i give water instead of milk at night time? 2. if so should i use sippy or straw cup at night time? 3. should i make her sit , when giving water at night time ?

    • @HelpingBabiesSleep
      @HelpingBabiesSleep Місяць тому

      She likely will reject water because the sleep association is with milk and nursing. Its' the action of sucking and taste that she uses to self soothe.

    Thank you so much for this video. My husband and I are interested in effectively sleep training. We’ve been co-sleeping since our daughter was born. Now that we’re transitioning to her crib, obviously she’s struggling to fall asleep independently; especially with the Ferber Method. Her daily schedule is fairly consistent. Her nighttime routine looks like solids, bath, nurse and preparation for bed. When placed in her crib, she’s very determined to stay awake as long as possible and screams or cries nonstop. The frequent check-in’s upset her even more. She’ll cry for 2.5 hours or more a night. When crying, she cries so hard, often gasping for air and vomiting. The gasping for air and vomiting startles us. When co-sleeping, she frequently wakes throughout the night to nurse. (Though, we do get more sleep at night compared to when we try to get her to sleep on her own.)Nights are really hard and we’re feeling defeated. Definitely looking forward to learning more about the different methods you suggest. I am desperate for a change.

      Please read the book and work on all the different aspects about sleep teaching! This is about so much more than just the put down. As a co sleeper - you'll want to be more gradual and start with the attended method from the book. a.co/d/00gB7SGj

      It's hard to say with little info, but in general, the most common cause of night wakings at this age is staying awake too long before bedtime. Meaning: bedtime is too late. She needs to be asleep ~ 4 hours from waking from her nap.

      Please read our book! There is more to share than a reply on a social media comment. As one reviewer wrote about our book: "This book transformed my newborn's sleep in less than 2 days. We went from co-sleeping and nursing to sleep to sleeping in his bassinet for the full night and napping in his bassinet throughout the day at 5 weeks. This was extremely practical and was flexible enough to implement right away! I am so happy I started this early." a.co/d/0gn9VKrp

    Forget black out curtains!!!! Most time they still bleed some light from the top, bottom and sides! FOIL! Foil is where it’s at! I know it sound trashy and your neighbors will probably think you’re starting your own meth lab, but it will make the room pitch black dark. You will not be able to see your hand in front of your face. Install foil in my kids room tonight! Like 5 mins ago! It’s perfect. Spray a bit of water on the windows then the foil sticks right to it. Add some tape for security. And block any openings! GOLDEN!

    good info. however, you can still be “breast feeding”, by bottle, meaning you still will know exactly how much they ate . that doesn’t mean they had formula just because you know how much they ate in oz/ml
