Fix and Destroy
Приєднався 18 кві 2022
Andrew and Hunter have many projects and take some fun trips. Join along as they work on anything from semis to snowcats to backhoes.
135 HP Snowblower! 1979 International 186 Hydro Snowblower
Hunter and Andy go and pick up an International 186 Hydro run the Erskine snowblower. The tractor has a turbo to bring the hp to 135 hp. We drove 7 hours to get the tractor. It took a few days to modify the snowblower frame to fit the larger tractor.

Rocket delivers my sno cat to the UP. He loses a wheel on the highway. We then take it off the trailer and drive it for the first time. More to come soon, talking about what it is and what my plans are for it.
Why Our Projects Take So Long....Service Truck Stuck
Переглядів 3962 роки тому
Hunter and Andrew are working on the light tower to take the generator out. The service truck crane is needed to lift it out. Getting the service truck moved takes longer than planned. 3 hours wasted... fix_and_destroy on Instagram

1990 ASV Track Truck
Переглядів 1,4 тис.2 роки тому
Practicing taking videos on Hunter's 1990 ASV Track Truck. We will have a full video of a walk around on this later.
Fun video. Very useful setup. Hope you get many years of utility and enjoyment out of it. IH tractors in that body style are the ones of my youth. Nice walk on memory lane!
😊😅
Very cool. That black smoke went almost as far as the snow! 😮
"This is not your tractor. This is MY tractor" said the vicious kitty!
Very nice set up 👍
Nice to be able to crawl this slow. My IH 886 is much faster in reverse blowing.
Bad ass!!!! When can we see more of this beast in action???
👏 🙏 ♥️ 🇩🇪
Front mount is the way to go. Not everyone has the luxury of 4WD and it's hard to add weight when the blower is on the rear and you lose the ballast when the blower hits the ground

🙋🏼♂️🇪🇪👍🏼✌🤗
Yup, that will get the job done! Hydrostatic and forward facing is the way to go. Nice rig! I converted a combine to a snowblower and it is also working fine. Is that a 9' width blower? Years ago we also had an Erskine blower.
I've been Mount Mancelona's Tucker Mechanic for twenty years. Where in the U.P. are you located? I'm down between Mancelona and Gaylord. I recommend that you try to keep it original.
We are up in Houghton. At this point the original parts don't exist. The goal will be to make it look like it got new steel grouser/rubber belt tracks from Tucker.
@@fixanddestroy9669 Looking forward to watching the progress. I think a local junkyard in my area has a huge pile of skid-steer tracks.......... if that helps. (Unless you're already well into collecting the parts you need). Let me know if you might want verification of their existence, I can go check.
If you can't make parts for it,..... I can. If you ever decide to sell it,......... post it on here.
Good to know! I would hate to sell it, but you never know.
If you need parts or schematics, let me know and I can put you in contact with vintage Tucker people.
Good job fellows, That thing is a real pig for eating snow!
is it blowing more smoke or snow hard to tell LOL
7 hour road trip with the snowplow mounted??
Yup! 7 hours each way.
Yes tractor was to heavy for your trailer but you got it home yea
The trailer is rated to 16k. Just a lot a weight for an old tired truck.
Bong Bridge? @1:35.
Yup!
Looks like you have concerns about the ability of the IH to stay together if you actually make it work
What do you mean?
Wow would love to have a setup like that .
The only way that thing has 135 horsepower is if it's turned because it's only a 105 horsepower tractor
You are correct. It has a turbo on it. Turbo is supposed to bring it up to 135 horsepower.
The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎👎💩💩😬
where you guys based out of? almost looked like a midwest city haha
Houghton, Michigan. Passed through Duluth and Superior to get the tractor.
@@fixanddestroy9669 thats awsome bro. lived in duluth for years! born minnosotan :)
When setting up a large tractor for snow blower work and there is the option for 540 or 1000 RPM drive. Always take the 1000 RPM option. It puts way less stress on both the tractor's internal PTO drive systems and the snow blower driveline.
Good to know. Last time it was on the Massey it had a nice and scary hum with running 1000 rpm. We wanted to try it out slow with 540.
@@fixanddestroy9669 Often that comes from the main blower paddles churning up air being they are basically just really heavy fans. The only real concern with running them fast is if something is way out of balance and you will notice the shake immediately if something is dangerously far off. My personal preference for running on the higher RPM speed is that the tractor can be run at much lower engine RPMs for lighter work which makes maneuvering much easier if the tractor has to drive backwards to blow snow.
What a machine. 😁
Thats a nice hitch. Too bad you don't have a shop to get it in
Hunter is currently working on building a shop. We were about a month too early to be working on it in the shop.
Sweet...
Nice binder, they sure sound awesome under load.
Thanks!
I can't believe u left.plow on truck when hauling that tractor that far. Lol my f150 overheats after 25 minutes of Highway
We didn't have any engine overheating issues. Only a brake heating issue on one downhill.
I’m from southern Arizona and never seen a snowblower like that work so I have a question. What happens if you hit a chunk of hard solid ice under the snow? Will it just eat it or will it break?
It would probably just get pushed by the front augers. If it is small enough to fit through the auger it should get eaten by the fan. We haven't been able to put a lot of run time on this setup yet, so I am guessing.
Or break a shear pin if it’s big enough
Welcome to You Tube guys. Your channel is going to do well. This will be a lot of fun following you guys.
Love the drone footage. I am new to drones. Picked up my first one this fall. I plan to incorporate it into upcoming videos. Yours really stole the show, so to speak.
What a perfect combination. That is an amazing set up. Well done guys New subscriber here
Thanks for subscribing!
VERY NICE!
Thanks!
Great looking setup!!! I feel sorry for that truck driving all that way with all that weight and having the blade on the front!
Was that Tower Drive Bridge in Green Bay, Wisconsin?
No, it was the Richard I. Bong Memorial Bridge between Duluth, MN and Superior, WI.
There were a lot of Behnkes near Lena Wi
Thats a beast of a tractor. Before next winter add a turbo to the H186 and you'll be grinning. Kent from PEI
It already had a turbo installed when Hunter bought it. Hunter is working to find the turbo badge and add it to the tractor.
Nice rig! I grew up running 986 and 1086 which were so much more quiet than the 806 I spent hours in before that.
How much time did it take to redo the PTO mount? How much clearance to the ground?
I would guess it took 15-20 man hours. Only 4-6 inches of clearance, I think. I will have to look.
The sound of the tractor is way better than the music. Nothing like a diesel at work. Nice job with the installation.
I tried to only have music when I didn't have audio of the tractor. Drone shots I don't have audio for sadly.
I realized I didn't get rid of the audio during at least one clip of the tractor running. I will do better next time!
@@fixanddestroy9669 Depending on the editing software you are using you can overlay the tractor sound over the drone footage. No big deal, just an observation.
I can overlay sound over drone footage. I just need to record tractor noise next time. Thanks for watching and commenting!
You drove 7 hrs with a snowplow on pickup?
7 hours each way with a plow. Hunter didn't want to take it off and figured it was good counterbalance weight....
Is that an aftermarket Mudhog setup?
No, it is a factory Coleman front axle.
We had a black stripe 186 hydro and I don't think it was 135 HP. My 4020 diesel could out pull it. It worked well for what we did with it. Used it on a compost turner.
This tractor has a turbo added to it. It is supposed to add roughly 20 hp. 115 hp to 135 hp.
@@fixanddestroy9669 oh that would make a difference. Ours didn't.
4020's shifting pattern was the biggest Cluster#uck ever ..
Sweet tractor
What a find, pretty rare tractor, perfect for your use case...
Not too many around but there is another set up as a snowblower 2 miles down the road....
👍👍
My favorite tractor
You have quite a rare tractor there with the fwa
Yeah. It was hard to find one. Believe it used to be an industrial tractor (yellow).
What's the pto speed of the blower?
Currently 540 rpm. Blower specs are 540 or 1,000 rpm. Andy wants to try 1,000, Hunter does not.
@@fixanddestroy9669 I dunno anything, really, about big blowers, so I don't know if that adaptability means you change the gear ratio in the machine or not, however, I can tell you from my small blower experience that impeller RPM makes a huge difference in that case. On my old walk behind blower I increased the the impeller RPM from 1200 to 1800 and it plugged a lot less and threw a lot further. One downside, tho, if you pick up heavy objects, like rocks, it can launch them into orbit with too high of RPM's. Shear pins also will become less effective as shear pins can only stop applied power, not the momentum in the machine.
