Funnily enough, we went back later in the week to go to the National Computer Museum! Which was really fascinating. So much to see and do. 😃

Yes, we have started to do that each time we moor up and have noticed the difference. We're slowly become big fans of using chains for mooring, and I'm sat here wondering why we didn't buy another couple when we were at the chandlery! 🫣

Yeah, I've been considering that. My issue is the cost, how bulky they are, and seeing other vloggers struggle with them. Parts of that vlog would have been recorded on my Samsung S8 mobile. I've replaced that mobile since and stability software has improved. I'd probably be more likely to buy a dji pocket cam device that has a gimbal built-in, but again that is an expense for me and I can't justify that right now as I recently purchased a new camera 😃

It's a long ole tunnel! The middle section is interesting. Yes, we did get a curry, but it was earlier in the week. It was very nice and we would recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there. Looking forward to going there again in the future.

I do like the story of the visit to the Pub after so many years and JD being recognised! 😃

I really don't know what has happened with the audio for this one 😕 the rendered mp4 file all sounds okay this end on the laptop, but the UA-cam presentation of it is all over the place. Which is annoying as I spent a long time putting this one together.

The sound is okay past the buffalo 🐃 footage. I'm not sure what's happened to the sound on that first bit of footage?? 🤔 Paul still wasn't wearing a microphone, I shall punish him (again).

All we could hear was muffled voices....Will persevere with the rest of the video...🍷🍷

I know! There were so many that were in a similar state to! It'd keep a brickie in a job for many years, fixing them all 😀

I definitely wasn't doing anywhere near the speed HS2 would be going 😄 You do get a wake when doing near 3 mph. The boat displaces water. The boaters handbook does have advice about what to look out for: Don’t let your boat create a breaking wave or a lowering of the water along the bank just ahead of the boat. These are signs that you should throttle back. Yes, there was a wake, but not a breaking wave wake. 🌊

I think at that point, it will pass above the canal on a bridge and will be on an embankment of some sort. But yes, it is a huge disruption and eyesore right now.

Now, why didn't I think of that as a title!!! 🙄 😍

@@YetAnotherCanalAdventure I think a real good winding hole would be a larger one. that is a tight squeeze and to execute a wind to the degreee of perfection you did takes a whole lot of skill and or a whole lot of luck. But i see you the guy who always downplays his achievments... lol .... but anyways i love the idea of one day going to England and spending time on teh canal systems... besides the history the other aspect i am interested in are the views from the canals. What were some of the highlights on the canal to you and do you have any videos of those locations?!

I would say the Falkirk area for both the Wheel (boat lift) and the Kelpies Statues, Dan Brown @sortofinteresting visited both recently. We were up in Scotland a number of years before we were doing vlogs and visited both. A lot of the canal is very pretty, in an old world way. I liked Berkhamsted and places like Stoke Bruerne. Really want to head to Stoke and the Potteries and then I suppose the big Aqueduct on the Llangollen. There's so many places I want to visit it is difficult to list only a few 😃

@@YetAnotherCanalAdventure I think i have seen all those on different channels on UA-cam as i have watched countless canal videos. They are all marvels. Most people just go by them like normal tourist and though every so often some will give some history, I think that the British government and or a corperation should make a huge series of top notch production documentry(s) opn all aspects of the canal that existed/exist/and may exist once again (or in my opinion should be build and have never been built as i have stated that 2 or 3 new broadbeam asseciable canals should be built so all can access the whole network without leaving the water.) ..... A few of the the videos i watched were history videos (pottery works) and they were amazing!!! I was thinking last night or the night before if someone could starts a go fund me (like comics) or someone who can put their work on Nebula and a few of those other ducumentry channels coming out!!!

Yes! I did ask Bard to write a song about a work related subject in a pantomime style. The result was pretty good 👍 They're not too bad at poems either, I like to ask it to provide a poem, then ask for it in a different style: Haiku, Limerick, Edgar Alan Poe... that sort of thing. 😃 canal journeys, it's not so good on right now. With enough encouragement, it may get better.

Oh wow! 😃 I still can't believe I didn't notice them at all, despite knowing that there are buffalo around. I was so disappointed that I had missed them.

Hi Tony, thanks for laughing at us 😆 🤣 You'll be glad to know that the fenders on the boat that passed were the tubular rubber ones and they didn't have any at the front at all. They had seen us stuck, waited very patiently, so knew what had happened. But yes, bad on us for cruising with them down. We have learnt a valuable life lesson! 😃

Hi Chris, Thanks for watching and I do hope our mistake does help others (and us) in future!! You know, as I selected that track "Free Me" and added it during editing, I actually thought I'm going to have comments about that! 😃 It 'grew on me', although I did almost remove it before I rendered the video... guess I need to trust my gut instincts in future! 😃 Subtitles, I did use to edit the auto generated ones and add additional comments in earlier vlogs. UA-cam stopped doing the auto generation and it was taking me so much time to watch, add and get the timing right... I gave up. I'll see if I can work out how to do it better. We have now got microphones, so the next vlogs will have better audio! (Honest!). Thanks again, Mark & Paul

Thanks for watching 😀 Yes, that is a good point, and it's something we will consider doing in future. We have found doing that difficult in the past in deeper/wider locks as the rope wasn't long enough. We were just caught out by these. We live and learn. 🙂

Hi Vic, thanks for watching. We don't travel very quickly, so it could appear that we didn't slow down. We always drop to tick over speed to pass moored boats and we're regularly passed by other boats as our tick over is so slow (as seen in previous vlogs).

It is, didn't expect to see one in Berkhamsted but there it was! Interesting story behind it as well.

Isn't it! Today we almost met Lorna! 🦩 but didn't...Although we did have a Wobbly Boat Ice-cream 🍦 at the floating market... with sicilian lemon sauce and crunchie chocolate 'sprinkles' which was really really nice in the mini heatwave here 😀

Thank you! Yeah, we keep being told our engine is quiet, we're just glad it is as it makes the sound / voice recordings easier to work with. Believe it or not, the sound on this vlog is all from the inbuilt action camera microphone. 😀
